Bluebell View Care Home

From my first contact with Bluebell View (prior to opening) until now, the care and attention to detail has been amazing. My main contact has been with me every step of the way with advice and reassurances. My father started with 2 weeks respite care; he was so settled and calm and well looked after
that he moved to full time residence. Everyone I've been in contact with, from the laundry staff, cooks, cleaners and carers have been pleasant, cheerful, attentive and helpful. The facility is lovely, with well appointed rooms and comfortable lounges.

Lime Trees

from S M (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 April 2025

My mum has been a resident at Lime Trees and we could not be happier with the care she has received. The seniors and care staff are incredible - they are so good with mum and it is clear by mum's smiles and laughter that she feels at home with them. The range of activities on offer every day are excellent
and go far beyond the offer provided by other care facilities. The activity coordinator really goes out of her way to provide as many experiences as possible for the residents. The management team are incredibly supportive and there is no problem too big or small - any time I have raised something it has been resolved swiftly.
The biggest accolade I can give to Lime Trees is that they care as much about the family as they do the resident - they are there to support everyone with the process of moving a loved one into care and beyond. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone!

I recently spent a Wednesday afternoon with my sister-in-law at Lime Trees. After a good chat with her and her friends there we all joined the 1 hour fitness class. The instructor made it great fun to join in, encouraging and giving plenty of time to each and every one doing the exercises, helping them
along and explaining each exercise thoroughly, as well as demonstrating where necessary. There was a lot of laughter and clearly everyone enjoyed what they were doing. A well deserved snack and drink followed. In my opinion Lime Trees and all the staff I have met deserve a '10' in everything they provide. Extremely well done and many, many thanks from me.

Up until now we have been very happy with the home. The staff work very hard and are always friendly and happy to help . We are not so keen on the new arrangement with the Harmony suit . The home was build as an open plan dementia friendly environment but now those with more needs are confined to a
very small living space since the lounge dining areas have been divided plus this is all on the 1st floor . Previously these residents could go out to the garden area when they wanted without requiring a member of staff . Now they need to be taken down in the lift with a member of staff each time which isn't always possible and also time consuming . It now feels over crowded and cramped when meals are being served and residents seem more agitated and restricted .I believe this was a head office decision that doesn't suit the design of this care home building .

Reply from HC-One Limited, Administrator at Lime Trees

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to make improvements where required. We understand it is important for our residents to feel comfortable and have access to all areas of the home, including our garden. The design of our home aims to promote independence while ensuring safety for our residents, particularly those living with dementia. The dividing doors are there to create distinct areas that help enhance the living experience. We want to assure you that our residents do have full access to the grounds and enjoy a variety of engaging activities tailored to their individual needs. Our dining experience is designed to be enjoyable, and residents can choose to dine in the dining rooms or in their own rooms, with the option for family members to join, provided arrangements are made in advance. If you would like to discuss any concerns you may have further, please do not hesitate to reach out to the home direct.

My mother had a 2 weeks respite stay at the Lime Trees care home in January/February 2025.
On entering the home It feels like you are in a lovely hotel, all the rooms are furnished to a high standard and everywhere is immaculately clean.
The dining tables are laid out beautifully which made each
meal feel like an occasion.
There were varied activities on everyday and mum enjoyed chatting to the other residents very much.
The special thing about the Lime Trees though are the staff, everyone was so kind and caring to my mum and in my mums own words she said " I couldn't fault anything" that says it all for us.

Everything about Lime Trees is great so far, except for the fact that, if there's a problem out of the norm, then it takes ages for the admin staff to act on it. It took weeks to have a simple grab-handle fitted to the bed - I wasn't allowed to do it myself - even though I could have easily. My mum's
ceiling has developed a leak which, again, is taking ages to resolve. The crack in the ceiling is still there and the plastic tubs are still on the carpet to catch water. There is also an issue with the motion light sensor in the bathroom which keeps coming on in the night. Both of these are apparently related to something in the roof space, but we're waiting for "someone" to come and look - as we keep being told when questioned - but never seems to happen. The nursing staff and carers are all phenomenal though - five stars for them!

Priorslee House has been good for Mum and she is well settled, having been there just over two years now.
We love how welcoming the home is to all visitors, and how hard the staff work to ensure there is always lots going on in the way of activities.
The home is always spotlessly clean, the communal
areas, and Mum's room, with no smells!
The food is good, and Mum has no complaints.
Staff have good relationships with all the residents, and respect their individuality.

Priorslee House

from Sylvia B (Wife of Resident) published on 6 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

My husband's experience was very good. However, he needed additional support because he is wheelchair bound. He is unable to move from room to room unaided which meant he could remain in one place for a considerable time. We do not blame the staff for this, but he did need one to one support most of
the time. We are not sure if staff were made aware of this.
There seemed to be a problem some evenings with the change over of shifts at 8pm. The delays appeared to be because of staff levels on duty. This is not a criticism of the staff, they did their best under the circumstances.

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as it helps us to make improvements where required. We are happy to hear that your husbands experience was positive. Your feedback is invaluable as we strive to improve, if you wish to discuss anything further, please do not hesitate to contact the home direct.

The experience over the last 7 months has been generally very good. The home it self is very comfortable, clean and aesthetically pleasing. The bedrooms and ensuites are ideal. The staff in the main are very good, incredibly patient with the residents and attend to all their needs however vulnerable
they are.
There was one terrible incident which occurred due to another residents behaviour, where my mother was injured. The handling of this has been disappointing, mainly due to lack of an action plan and poor communication from HC-One management.

Walked in on our first visit to an amazing welcome. The staff have been so kind and supportive to both my father-in-law and the family. Not only does the home look (and smell) wonderful, the staff are absolutely wonderful. No one ever makes us feel a nuisance and we feel it is a good family feel. Only
wish my father-in-law had come here sooner. Food and drink are outstanding.

We moved our Mother from here in November due to several 'unwitnessed' falls that led to quite serious injuries including a very severe cut that required hospital treatment. She was left bleeding on the floor for a substantial period of time due to staffing being below the legal limit. This was initially
denied but had to be admitted when Safeguarding got involved.
There is no degree of Management whatsoever, it's more of a throw staff under the bus approach.
We're aware of other residents having also moved since Mum so it's definitely not just an us issue.
The new home totally enlightened us as to what care should be with trained and considerate staff and a manager that takes that role on properly. Please don't be fooled as we were by the grand tour and false promises. If I could leave a zero rating I certainly would.

Priorslee House

from Natalie C (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 January 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5

This care home looks beautiful but the care is not up to scratch due to poor support from management. The residents with dementia are on the first floor and it always felt like they were second class citizens. There are not enough carers for the number of residents to be cared for safely. My mum suffered
a serious injury and has had falls whilst in their care. Simple things like making sure that residents have their own glasses and footwear don't happen - they are asking for falls when this is ignored. Residents wear the same clothes day after day because there is no protocol to put them in the wash each day - this would ensure that they had clean clothing every day. There is not a good level of understanding about dementia, capacity seems to be used as a reason not to do things rather than to encourage people to live as well as possible with dementia. We tried to work with the home and regional mangers to improve things but in the end have moved mum. Don't send people with dementia here.

Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Priorslee House

At Priorslee House Care Home the safety and wellbeing of those living in our home is of the utmost importance. We are sorry to hear about your concerns surrounding your mum's care.
