The care my auntie receives is fantastic, the staff are so good with her, very friendly and approachable for us all as a family too. Always give me updates on how she's doing and are happy to find solutions to any issues that pop up not that there are many.

My mum was transferred to Almond View Care home where she was made to feel welcome after 12 weeks of care in the hospital where she was severely deprived of stimulation resulting in weight loss. Within three weeks of the transfer, she was gaining weight, interacting with staff, other residents, and
attending activities three times a week. It was therefore tragic when she had a stroke just as she was starting to make such magnificent progress.
Luckily, Almond View also does end-of-life care and we were able to get her back to the surroundings she was comfortable in for her last week. With nurses available 24/7, they ensured she had a peaceful and dignified passing with everything being done in a caring rather than a functional way.
I also could not have been treated better for that final week, with 24-hour access and genuine kindness being shown by the staff. From the home manager to the cleaners, everyone cared, and that is what makes a great residential nursing home.

My Gran has been a resident at Almond View for just over a month.
The difference in her is clear to see for all, she is safe, happy and has put on weight since being in the home.
The activities are fantastic, always something on for everyone, great atmosphere and all the residents seem happy.
The
staff cannot do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble. I always feel welcomed.
Management is approachable, visible and knowledgeable and guided us as a family through the whole process of moving Gran into the home.

Our mum was admitted to Almond View Care Home from hospital. We knew she was going there for end-of-life care and so did Mum. She was in her 90's and physically failing but still enjoyed a chat and music and cheerful company. From the day I visited the home before Mum was admitted, until the day she
died a few weeks later my sisters and I were met with friendly smiles and helpful staff. Mum was treated with respect, kindness and warmth. From the receptionist to the manager, service staff and carers, we will be forever grateful to Almond View for making our mum's last weeks peaceful, calming and friendly.
This will not be the smartest home in the area but I don't believe you'd find one with more caring staff.

I think the standard of the home has gone down in the last year. Not enough staff to care for residents, a lot of agency staff, especially at night. Not enough domestic staff, cleanliness has gone down. There is a lot of good about the home too. I don't agree with the two homes being put into one home
with a new name.

I want to say that there is not a minibus available for activities or appointments nor is there WiFi for residents as stated in the description of Almond View Care Home.

Reply from Emily Nash, Administrator at Almond View

Thank you for your comments. The information regarding Almond View having access to a minibus was outdated and has now been removed. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. With regards to the WIFI, this is currently being reviewed and we are hoping to improve connectivity throughout the home in the near future.

I have been visiting my relative in Almond View for a couple of years and I felt I had to write a review as in the past 6 months or so I have noticed a huge difference when coming into the home. The staff seem happy and the care I have witnessed not only to my relative but others is fantastic, such
a caring happy environment and I could not feel more content in knowing my relative is very well looked after.

My mother is now a resident, and I can honestly say the care and support we have had from the team in Almond View is second to none. The staff can not do enough for you or the residents. I could not wish for a better place for my mother to be.

All the staff at Almond View Care Home looked after my mum with respect and dignity. They went the extra mile. They took into consideration that my mum, even though she stopped talking, always asked her if she was ok and helped her with all her meals and drinks. The staff always made all the family
feel welcome.

Currently very happy with the activities, every day I visit there is something going on - singers and groups providing entertainment that is inclusive to everyone. Fun afternoons for everyone to enjoy or memory games. So happy to see this.

The care and nursing staff are always friendly and approachable and attentive to my partner's needs. If I have any concerns is that occasionally noise levels in the lounge can cause my partner to become anxious and agitated - could be managed better? On the whole, the food is well-presented and nutritious
and there is plenty of orange and blackcurrant squash on hand. Some of the bedroom furniture could do with being replaced but my partner's room is always clean and tidy. The care home manager continues to run the home extremely effectively and is, and always has been, very helpful, approachable and supportive.

My sister recently moved into Almond Court Care Home after the care home she had lived in for six years closed unexpectedly. However, I'm very glad to say that the staff at Almond Court have proved to be very good at taking care of her and dealing with her complete needs. They have shown patience, skill
and kindness while looking after my sister. A good variety of enjoyable meals are served. The decor in the home is bright and colourful and the standard of cleanliness is high.

On the whole, I think Almond Court Care Home is a good care home, although I have little to compare it with. I rated the 'value for money' as 'poor' which is a reflection on the current high cost of residential care - so not aimed specifically at Almond Court. The staff are all very good and very friendly
and welcoming which makes visiting so much easier. I really like the fact that you are trusted with the door code and don't have to ring a bell. It makes the place seem more welcoming.
Main gripe is about glasses going missing but the staff do their best to find them. My husband is guilty of moving stuff about so a lot may be down to him.
Overall, a good place with a good manager.

My partner has been resident for almost two and a half years. During this time, excluding lockdowns, I have only seen professional, courteous care by all grades of staff. This purpose-built facility provides necessary equipment e.g. pressure mattresses, hoists and in our case, a custom-adjusted wheelchair
was obtained from the NHS. Overall I am content.

I have found any members of staff to be caring, helpful and kind to both myself and my brother that they look after. They are professional in their duty. They are very professional in their duty. They cajole him when he is needing it and are always very cheerful and pleasant.

My mum is generally treated with care and consideration. When her weight fell, they immediately put her on a fortified diet, and the cook and I have had conversations about Mum's likes and dislikes, which have improved her eating habits and have put weight on her. There is a varied set of activities
now, although Mum doesn't join in - she enjoys seeing others and listening to any music.
