I encouraged my mum to place my dad at Otterbourne Grange as I felt the management and staff would take great care of him. I was right, I never felt worried about my dad's care in their hands. He was treated as an individual with respect till the very end. Thank you.

During the time my husband was in the care of Otterbourne Grange every attempt was made to meet his needs and comfort.
Since he was suffering from active dementia he wasn't always able to appreciate the care being taken but nevertheless, every opportunity was taken to recognise him as an individual
and develop relationships. This also extended to us as a family.

I made the difficult decision to move my 94 year old mother with dementia into a care home. I was somewhat anxious about this move due to a very bad experience with another care home. My mother was made to feel very welcome and the staff did everything they could to help her settle in. She is now enjoying
life at the home and is very happy to be there, such a huge relief for me knowing that she is well cared for. I am kept well informed of all medical issues and the staff are all so very friendly and helpful every time I visit and nothing is too much trouble. They have been out on various tips and have lots of activities in the home and she is encouraged to join in. On the whole a lovely home with a lovely family atmosphere.

Moving Mum to a care home was a tough decision, but with her Alzheimer's, safeguarding became a concern. The managers were incredibly helpful and welcoming, proactively assessing Mum and supporting her transition. The carers have been equally supportive and always greet us with a smile.
A social media
group has been created, allowing us to see the activities Mum participates in, which is wonderful since she often forgets when I ask. Christmas was particularly special, with Mum attending choirs and a Panto, and we enjoyed a Christmas party at the home with family and friends, complete with games and dancing. The only downside is that the building could use some TLC, given its age, but it is always kept clean. Thank you for your care.

Mum has been well looked after and cared for. She is very happy and so are we. All of the staff are welcoming and caring. Generally the facilities are adequate but the building, windows etc. i.e. heating could be updated. The new events manager is excellent.

My brother has been in this nursing home now for a number of years. His care has been exemplary, particularly now as he is bed-bound. Visitors are encouraged as were his trips out when he was more mobile. He mostly feels content and is secure in the knowledge that he knows and is well-known amongst
the management staff.

My husband has been a resident at Westhampnett House Nursing Home for 4 years. He needs around-the-clock nursing due to numerous medical needs after an acquired brain injury in 2017. The previous places had looked after him but it was when he moved to Westhampnett that we as a family felt he had arrived
somewhere that saw him as a patient but more importantly to us as a person and part of their family. He has weakened in the four years but with every issue the manager and staff have supported him in a kind and caring way and given us total confidence in all they do for him. We always get information about any changes to his care and whenever there have been any medical emergencies we are notified immediately with gentle professionalism and reassurance. His room, like the rest of the care home, is always clean and welcoming and the staff are always friendly and very caring towards him and us. This is so important as we always appreciate that in many ways his life is in their hands.

My husband has been a resident at Westhampnett House Nursing Home for over two years, having suffered a major cerebrovascular accident (CVA) in 2019 with resultant hemiplegia, accompanied by severe aphasia which affects his efforts to communicate and frustrates him hugely.
Over time, my husband has
gradually settled, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the staff to try to understand him and make him feel safe and comfortable. Westhampnett House has indeed become his home and I am deeply grateful to the manager, not only for the high standard of care by her professional, caring staff but also for keeping me apprised and supporting me along the way.
Certainly Westhampnett House lives up to its already good reputation and I recommend it highly.

What a dump! Our mum was only here for a few weeks before she moved to a lovely nursing home. Mum was given the same meal for lunch and evening for eight days! Her teeth were never cleaned. Her bed sheets were often dirty having been top to toe after Mum had spilt her tea on them. One day her sheets
were badly torn. Mum's fingernails were cut by staff so short they were bleeding. Prescription medication was left on Mum's chest of drawers. Carpets are badly fitted and were lifting in many areas causing a trip hazard. Blankets were laid on the floors often, causing another trip hazard. No activities or staff interaction. I could go on. I have many photos.

Overall excellent care, all staff treated my sister with dignity and respect during the last two months of her life. I, as a visitor, was always welcomed with a smile and made welcome. All staff were polite and helpful. The areas I saw at Westhampnett House were always clean and tidy. The home was warm.
I am very thankful my sister spent her end day there.

My mother has been here for 4 years now and was joined 2 years ago by her sister. It's an older homely care home but it stands out because of the staff that work hard to care for everyone,
Always greeted with a happy smile when visiting.
The management and staff here are very good in my opinion,
which keeps my mind at rest as Mum has Dimensia. There are activities daily, and the occasional outing, the latest being a trip to the Zoo. Always kept up to date with Mum's health and well-being and very flexible when it comes to hospital visits that I couldn't do. I can't speak highly enough of the young driven management team! Well done everyone.

My dad stayed at Otterbourne Grange as a permanent resident for the last three months of his life. I could not have asked for a better place for him to be. The home is incredibly well run and managed and all the staff I met - from senior managers to carers - were engaged, efficient and very caring.
The communication was excellent and I always felt well informed, but not over-burdened with routine information. The standard of care is everything you would hope for your family - respectful, attentive and friendly. After a pretty depressing experience at his previous care home (before I could move him to be close to me) my dad settled after a cup of tea and two brownies (one of which was supposed to be for me!). The environment is a huge asset - a lovely, light-filled Victorian house in wonderful grounds with large bedrooms and great living space - but it is the staff and the culture that stand out. Otterbourne Grange made a huge difference to my dad and our family and I highly recommend it.

My mother was at Otterbourne Grange for about 15 months until we moved her in May 2024 to be nearer to family. I would highly recommend this home for its quality of staff for not only are they kind and caring but also good-humoured with a keen sense of fun. This made a huge difference to my mum's quality
of life. The kitchen staff also did a great job tailoring Mum's meals to things she enjoyed. The managers kept us informed of the outcomes of any doctor visits or any issues that arose so that we felt completely in the loop. The building decor is a bit tired in places but that was the least important thing on our list and the above positive features far outweighed this slight negative.

Mum has received the most care and love we could ever have wished for. The leadership team have been attentive to all her needs and supported us with advice and care, making us always feel welcome and cared for as if we were residents too! They cared for Mum with a very strong, happy, positive and friendly
team, as if she were the only resident. Going above and beyond, including accompanying her to go and play bridge with her local group and accommodating all tea and cake for her bridge friends each Friday afternoon.
