I live in Hereford even though I was born in Wales. My mum now resides at this lovely care home. Each time I visit (as often as I can), sometimes announced, sometimes not, but each time we are greeted by staff with kindness and respect and always find my mum clean and nicely dressed. It's so very important
to me that my dear mother is cared for with love and kindness. I do come away with peace of mind, for which I am so grateful.

You cannot calls this a "residential home" it is one big family home - fantastic. The moment you walk through the door the welcome is fantastic, food fantastic and all the carers do for the residents including activities. I couldn't recommend it enough. Residents care for and safety comes first there.
Sad point only - don't close it, Glynneath will not be the same without Trem Y g=Glyn - well done everyone.

Trem y Glen is clean, well decorated with up-to-date facilities. I have visited at all times of the day and the care and heartwarming kindness of the staff is always the same. They are simply wonderful, courteous and hospitable every time. Very approachable, supportive and can be called on and relied
on whenever needed. They have made Mam's stay a very happy and pleasurable experience. The level of care is very high and a credit to your profession. Thank you from our whole family, and from Mam who is very happy in her new home.

Thank you for your lovely words. We also appreciate the kindness you give to other residents and staff on your visits to Mam and for all the lovely items you fetch with you for all to share, this is very much appreciated.

The care provided at Trem y Glen is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The residents are extremely well looked after, kept clean and kept occupied. The care provided here is far superior to the care I have seen in private care homes.

The staff at Trem y Glyn are very supportive and kind. They are excellent with residents and nothing is too much trouble for them. It is a great shame my sister has to be moved to a more secure residence because she has settled in well, but unfortunately has found a way to get out through the emergency
exits to 'look after mum'.

All staff are friendly and very helpful, they try their very best to answer any questions I may have. I had an issue with ants in my Mothers room but that was dealt with straight away. The care my Mother has is second to none, although she can be difficult at times.

The whole family find the staff to be very helpful and obliging. The staff are very attentive and friendly. My Mother has been her for over two years and the care has been second to none. During lock down the residents were kept extremely safe. My Mother says the food is excellent. Thank you all.

My Mother cannot praise the staff and food enough. I have noticed a big change in my Mother's mental health since she has been here. She suffers from Bipolar and has quite a lot of low moods, but since she has been here she seems to be much happier and I've never seen her look so well. This is down
to the excellent staff and as my Mother always states 'The excellent food!' Couldn't be happier.

Reply from Debbie Davies, Manager at Trem y Glyn

Thank you for your kind words. We too feel that your mother has flourished since she moved into Trem y Glyn. Staff work extremely hard to ensure person-centred care to all our individuals.

Cwm Aur

from A G (Resident) published on 16 August 2022
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Cwm Aur is positioned in a semi-rural area with a rolling hillside in the backdrop. All the flats are well maintained and would suit any person who is looking for residency in a well-run establishment with health care a priority. With a communal restaurant on the premises taking the burden away from
the resident or the option to participate in your own dwelling. Cwm Aur is in the front running. Residents who hold a driving license are well suited. Two phone providers work better, so I have been informed.
So if you have a loved one or even yourself looking to make new friends in self-catering accommodation with care to fall back on, give Cwm Aur a chance to put their best foot forward.

My mother has been in Trem y Glyn for nearly five years. She has been superbly cared for by all the wonderful staff and I can't compliment them enough. They are all very caring, compassionate and extremely efficient. This care home is highly thought of in the community and has been one of the best in
the Neath area. Long may it continue.

My experience in visiting the home regularly has been very positive. I have been always welcomed there by all the staff and courteously treated. I have always found that my friend is well looked after and treated with the utmost respect and dignity. She has been always kept beautifully clean and well
presented by the staff. The room has been kept very clean and comfortable whilst the staff can't do enough for her.
I would certainly recommend the home and give it 10 out of 10.

My mamo has been living here since February. The home is the best place I have ever visited. The staff are absolutely amazing with my gran and us family, including my girls. My youngest is 7 and they are so good with her and the garden is amazing with things for her to play with. We go nearly every
day and I can honestly say not once have I had a bad experience here.

Lovely clean new looking home, friendly staff. The home looks like it's a hotel. We were greated by the lovely lady on reception and taken to my 94 year old nan's room which was more than adequate for her needs. We have since seen photos of her enjoying herself during the jubilee with lots of other
residents via the homes facebook page. Having lived on her own for the past 20+ years im delighted to see her looking so happy once again.

Awful treatment towards the end of life. They wanted to move her as she was dying and tried to get extra money from the family for her care when they had already been funded by the government. Had to locate advocates etc. A very stressful time. Management is awful but the general staff are amazing.

Reply from DAWN CRANDON, General Manager at Dan y Bryn

We want to give our deepest sympathy to you and your family on the passing of your grandmother. She lived with us here at Dan-Y-Bryn for 17 years and was part of our family. Towards your gran's end of life unfortunately her care needs increased and she needed more care than we could provide in residential care, so qualified nurses and carers from the community visited and provided end of life care to your gran at Dan-Y-Bryn four times a day.
In your review you mentioned trying to get extra money, this was discussed in a best interest meeting with the nurses and your family that if your gran was to be moved into a nursing home rather than remain in residential care the fees would be increased as fees are higher in nursing care homes.
Fortunately, your gran stayed in her home at Dan-y-Bryn and was cared for very well.
She passed away peacefully surrounded by people she knew, she had regular visits from her family who were by her bedside throughout her end of life care.

All of the staff members have been very supportive during these difficult Covid times. As a family, we have had constant updates about our relative. My gran takes part in a variety of activities and is cared for to the highest of standard.
