My relative has always praised the staff at the home, she was very happy with her care and the only reason she left was because she wanted to try again at home. We have as a family always found the staff to be very helpful and polite. We wish to thank you all for her excellent care.

I wish I could score -10 & feel deeply sorry for anyone looking at using this care home in the future. Please do your research and avoid. Had we known about all of the existing issues & complaints we later found out about in the press and online we would not have sent our mum here to be neglected in
the space of the 18 hours she stayed there to later result in her death. The paramedics and hospital staff raised a safeguarding concern over this aswell. My mum had terminal cancer so we know she was going to die we understood this, but an Internal nurse and an external doctor who worked here point blank refused my mum care when I asked for help on 2 occasions and I believe this ultimately had a major impact on her dying the way she did later that day at hospital. I called an ambulance they had no hurry about them after they refused to help her when she couldn't breathe & then the dr realised she would be complained about and tried to be all apologetic and fake concerned. Should be ashamed

Dad has been living in this home for the last 4 years, over this time I believe he was well taken care of. Staff were all very friendly and took the time to speak to dad every time they passed him. There may have been a couple of small issues during his stay but these were always dealt with promptly.
Any worries I had about the home were quickly discounted when I saw the big smile on his face when staff came into the room.

Most of my brother's needs are met. The staff work hard to please the residents, i.e. outings, activities, e.t.c. Care and attention, personal care and rooms are very well kept. There is a warm welcoming feeling from the staff, who are very friendly.

Since Mam's arrival at Wheatfield Care Home, the care and attention mam has received has been excellent. All issues that we (her family), have raised, have been quickly resolved. We have found all the staff including the management, to be friendly, professional, approachable and caring. Mam has been
treated with respect and dignity. They have built up a relationship with her and her relatives who are kept updated when she's had a "good day".

Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I was genuinely impressed and deeply moved by the care at Wordsworth House. I was apprehensive about my mother going into a home, but the staff exceeded all my hopes. They weren't just hardworking and professional-they brought kindness, patience, and even humour, making an immense difference. With 24/7
access, I visited at all hours and always saw genuine care. The staff truly valued the residents, creating a warm and compassionate environment. When my mother sadly passed away, their support was exceptional. They handled everything with such understanding, knowing exactly how to comfort each of us. I am profoundly grateful I chose Wordsworth House. The kindness, humour, and dedication of the staff made a difficult time so much easier, and I cannot thank them enough.

Absolute disgraceful place. The deputy manager is nothing but a disgraceful human, she's no empathy or any skills whatsoever when it comes to speaking with visitors, or anyone as it happens. I witnessed her shouting at nurses from another facility, who were coming to remove my mam to a safer care facility.
Gave my mam sedatives without any doctors knowledge, left her slumped in a chair on my visit. My mother's first words to me were "I feel punch drunk". She could barely stand up. DOLS informed me of this issue (probably illegal). I'll find out after our family solicitor carries out their investigation. They only shower the patients twice a week, not great when they are mostly wearing nappies. On one occasion my mother was wearing trousers and a skirt, not great practices especially when hygiene priority is almost none existing. Residents left many times day after day in the same clothes with food stains etc on them. Stay well clear of this facility if you value your loved ones.

My Nana was moved to this home in December and after an awful few months for her and the family we felt relieved she was going to be settled and well looked after, how wrong could we be! The moment I walked in to see her I knew, the smell was revolting, my Nana sat there like a zombie (from meds she
was given without being signed off), she was smelly and hadn't been cleaned. All the staff sat around on their phones doing absolutely nothing, faeces and phlegm all over the floor! This home isn't cut out to care for humans, I wouldn't even leave my dog there! The change in my Nana once she was removed said it all she went back to being happy and engaging. Please do not send any of your loved ones there they aren't capable of care.

If you care for your lived one please keep away. My mam was given sedation in her tea without doctors approval. (This is being investigated as I write this review and will be dealt with by a solicitor. The DOLs service advised us of this error.) My mam was like a zombie after just 3 days of being in
there. She said she felt punch drunk. They Washed her twice a week, her hair was filthy every time we visited and she stank when she was removed and put back into hospital care and we had to throw away her clothes. The deputy manager is the most rudest person we have ever encountered. She spoke to staff and our family members disgustingly. She has no people skills at all so should not be in charge of a facility like this. My mam is a proud hygienic lady and would have been mortified if she could have seen herself. When back to hospital she was a different person, laughing and joining in the chat with the family which she did not do at this awful place. The staff just sat on their phones.

Dad got settled in on Christmas Eve after a rushed search for respite. Prince's Court was by far the best we had on offer and very competitive.
The staff are lovely, the managers are very professional and approachable and listen to concerns.
Dad is well cared for and safe. Those were our biggest concerns.
