My mum has been a resident in this care home for just over two weeks and in that very short time I found the home well presented, brilliant in terms of catering for the needs of residents and visitors, clean, tidy, the staff amazing, friendly, helpful, caring and just plain brilliant. This is the original
five-star care facility in every sense of the word.

We are so happy with the care our dad has been receiving at Ryefield Court Care Home. Since his stay here, he has come such a long way, and it's all thanks to the dedication of the entire team. From the carers and hospitality staff to the chefs and management, everyone has been there not only for Dad
but for our whole family. Finding Ryefield was the best decision-we've seen such a positive change in his quality of life. He now calls Ryefield his home, and we couldn't be more grateful.

The staff at Cumnor Hill House are exemplary. I can't praise their caring, attention to detail highly enough. From the moment we visited to the time my mother spent as a respite resident to try it out, to the time she moved in permanently, they made the process stress free and seamless. Their standards
far exceed other care homes. My mother is settled and content which is a huge weight off my mind. With me living abroad, the quick response to emails and keeping me informed of events is vital. I have complete confidence they are taking care of Mum just as I would. Thank you Cumnor Hill House team.

Thank you so much for these kind words. When we admit a resident to Cumnor Hill House we "admit" the family too. It is great to hear that we have exceeded your expectations and that you can be at peace all those miles away. Mum has settled in well, I see her everyday and her smile is radiant. My father was sadly not at Leycester House for long due to the nature of his illness, but the end-of-life care he received was exemplary. The nursing staff worked proactively and sensitively with the local GP practice to ensure Dad was pain-free and comfortable in his last days. Lots of welcoming smiles
for us as family and two staff members in particular could not be more generous with their time. The rooms can sometimes feel quite small but the bar was well stocked and looked after!

Reply from Ann-Marie Baker, Senior Customer Relationship Manager at Leycester House

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, the team will greatly appreciate knowing how much their 'exemplary' care was appreciated. We are all very sorry we didn't get to spend more time with your father as he made a very positive impact on the home in the time he was there. Thank you again from the whole team at Leycester House.

Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

As my husband became increasingly unwell, the time came for him to go to Leycester House, where he had spent a fortnight a couple of months earlier to give me respite from attending to him at home day and night. He knew that he was going to a home that had looked after him beautifully, so he was pleased
to go there again. Leycester House has a happy atmosphere, nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and they always greet residents and visitors with smiling faces. He enjoyed the meals, and visitors are encouraged to join the residents for coffee, tea and homemade cake and, if ordered the day before, lunch, which was much appreciated. In fact, visitors are welcome to visit whenever they choose. My thanks go to all the staff for making a previously unknown experience for me and my family as good as it could possibly be.

My father moved into Badminton Place on 6th November 2024. The facilities are first class and the hospitality and acceptance that he has received from all members of staff has been second to none. On 30th Jan 2025, he celebrated his 103rd birthday and again all members of staff provided him with a birthday
party to remember, for which he and our family are extremely grateful. We as a family are so pleased that he is comfortable and well cared for in this super establishment, and once again I cannot thank all the staff enough for their support and understanding in helping Dad adjust to his new environment.

Reply from Philip McAllister, Customer Relations Manager at Badminton Place

Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your father's experience at Badminton Place. Celebrating his 103rd birthday with him was an absolute privilege, and we're delighted that it was such a special occasion for him and your family. We loved it! Ensuring our residents feel at home, comfortable, and supported is at the heart of everything we do, and your feedback means the world to us. My mother and father arrived at Blenheim House Care Home during November last year and were immediately made to feel welcome and part of the family. My dad died soon afterwards and the staff couldn't have been more professional and caring. The staff seem, universally, to be enthusiastic and genuine
in what they do and I know my mum is happy with all aspects of her residency, especially the food. As family visitors, we too are always made to feel welcome.

Please do not be taken in by the free coffee, cakes, nice garden and the facilities on offer at this care home. The thing that was totally lacking during my wife's respite care was high quality care. My wife previously had stayed in two care homes which charged a lot less than Blenheim and the quality
of care was very high, be careful and do loads of research.

Reply from Mandy MacKenzie, Customer Relationship Manager at Blenheim House Care Home

Dear Mr C We are very sorry to receive your review and that you have been so disappointed in the care your wife received whilst at Blenheim House last year. I can assure you that your complaint was thoroughly investigated last September, and we have tried to invite you to meet with us to share our findings and assure you of our care standards. It is unfortunate that these were declined. Residents' care is always our priority here and we can only apologise again if you did not find this to be the case at Blenheim House.

Cedar Mews Care Home

from Claire M (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 February 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Dad stayed here for 4 weeks respite care so he could build up his strength and confidence following a stroke - and it was absolutely the right decision.
The care and facilities are excellent. The accommodation is modern, exceptionally clean, yet still homely. The food is incredible, and being able
to stay and have a meal with dad at times was lovely for him and the wider family. There are always activities and things to do for residents too.
The best thing of all about Cedar Mews Care Home however is the staff team. Everyone who we have encountered has been so helpful, friendly and caring. The team were a great help in getting dad transferred from hospital and have given us lots of support with following up medical appointments and prescriptions. Throughout his stay everyone has been absolutely lovely and welcoming - we are incredibly grateful and will miss them very much when he returns home later this week. 100% recommend Cedar Mews.

Exceptional from start to finish!
Requested an assessment and was moved in within three days.
The whole team pulled out all the stops to make it happen. Care plan in place, registered at doctors etc., all done. All staff, without exception, are helpful and kind, could not do enough. One particular
staff member even came to work early, to ensure all clothes were labeled and put away. I have no doubt, I have the best care home for my cousin and the look of joy on her face when she arrived confirmed that. Thank you all so much.

Reply from Philip McAllister, Customer Relations Manager at Badminton Place

Thank you so much for your wonderful review and thoughtful words. It truly means so much to us to know that your cousin's move into our home was a smooth and positive experience. We understand how important this transition is for families, and we are so pleased that we could help make it as seamless and reassuring as possible. Our team genuinely cares about every resident, and hearing that their kindness and dedication made a difference to you and your cousin is incredibly touching. I will make sure to share your lovely comments with everyone, especially our staff member who went the extra mile to ensure everything was just right. Most of all, knowing that your cousin's face lit up with joy when she arrived was the best reward we could ask for. We feel privileged to be part of her journey and will continue to do everything we can to make her feel safe, happy, and at home. Lovely place but that's about it. Unbelievable amount of neglect towards the patients that family and friends have witnessed and brought to the staff's attention, which most just ignored. Sadly told my mum had passed away from a heart attack but now have find out she had choked to death (ongoing enquiry).
At
least 10 managers have left since my mums care started and the few good staff they've had have all left. Don't be fooled by the looks of the home. The care is disgusting and boarding on inhumane.

Reply from Philip McAllister, Customer Relations Manager at Badminton Place

I want to start by expressing my heartfelt condolences for the loss of your mother. I cannot begin to imagine how difficult this has been for you and your family. Please know that we are deeply sorry for the pain and distress you have experienced.
We are fully committed to understanding what has happened and addressing the issues you have brought to our attention. As you are aware, there is an ongoing investigation/enquiry involving our Home Manager and Operations Director to thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding your mother's care. We are working diligently to ensure that all concerns are taken seriously and that the investigation/enquiry is both thorough and transparent.
While we acknowledge there have been some staff changes in the past, our current team is very experienced, stable, passionate, and fully aligned in their commitment to the well-being of all who live here. We continue to be committed to making meaningful changes to ensure every resident receives the care, dignity, and respect they deserve.
At this time, I'm unable to comment further but if there is anything more you would like to share, please do not hesitate to contact our Operations Director or our Home Manager with whom you have been meeting. Your voice is important to us, and we are here to listen and support you during this difficult time.

We celebrated my mum's 100th birthday last December. The staff were fantastic. The room was beautifully done, the food fabulous and the service exemplary. The commitment that everyone gave to making the day so special was really appreciated. It was lovely being able to invite our cousins and Mum's previous
neighbours who have been there throughout her life. They were able to see first-hand the care that the team gave my mum at all times. We will always remember it. Thank you.

My mum was in respite for 2 weeks after Christmas.
She had a fantastic time and was welcomed by all the staff. All the activities she did were fantastic.
The staff were all so nice and my mum left with a smile on her face.
She is already booked in for another respite stay with them and I can't
thank them enough for everything they did.
