My Mother was made very welcome when she arrived. There is plenty of staff on duty and the Manager is very helpful. The staff show a personal interest in the resident's needs and what they like to do before in their lives and try to carry these on if possible. My Mu is always clean and tidy and her
room and bathroom is always spotless. The food is good and there's always fresh fruit in the TV lounge.

It was so inviting to come into Bluegrove House today as there were drinks, fruits for everyone who enters magazines. The main lounge had lots of activities on display, books for example quiz, books, wordsearch it was very inviting. All staff were friendly and approachable. Thank you and keep it up.

My father-in-law moved to Bluegrove recently and the change in him has been amazing to witness! He is more confident, happier, feels safe and secure and is interacting well with other residents and staff alike. He's now eating three meals a day, sleeping well and taking care of himself whereas before
he would forget or refuse to eat. The staff have been amazing and there always seems to be some activity going on which he gets involved in. His room is spacious and we've been able to move some furniture in so it looks and feels more like a bedsit than a room in a care home. He has an ensuite including a shower so he has privacy. The home itself is well laid out with a number of different areas for guests including a wonderful lounge area complete with piano, bird and fish. There is also easy access to a lovely (and secure) garden. This layout gives the sense of freedom as guests can move from one area to another and aren't just sitting in one room all day (unless they prefer to).

Both my parents have been in Bluegrove for just under two years. My family is very happy with the care they receive and feel they are safely and respectfully looked after. They have different needs and the staff handle these with kindness and patience with all aspects of their daily life and personal
care.


All their health needs whether urgent or minor are attended promptly and the staff call us to update us as soon as they have any information about changes to their health.


The general areas of the home are very comfortable and staff welcoming and helpful. They run events during the year for families to join residents at BBQ's, Christmas events or regular resident meetings to voice any concerns and to generally be involved in their family's care and life to make it as comfortable as possible.

Bluegrove House is well led by a caring and friendly manager who creates an atmosphere of calm and welcome. The staff are very caring and look after the residents well.
There is a good communication between the team leaders and the family of residents which helps new residents settle in, reassures
family and helps to address and manage residents needs. The appointment of an activities coordinator would help further stimulation for the residents.

There are very few activities at this home and no outings. There have been five activities coordinators who have come and gone in the last 18 months. Also, the local GPs do not visit this home on a regular basis.


On a more positive note, the rooms are a decent size and all have en suite bathrooms.

The home is clean, the food is good and there is a nice garden.


Some of the staff are excellent, however, others lack empathy and are in the wrong job.

Relative here since July 2016. They are very well looked after. Freshly prepared meals. Nice environment. Staff friendly and approachable. Eat in "restaurant" not common room. Nice to make tea and coffee when visiting. Rooms large with good ensuite wet room. Nice garden to use in summer with lawn, trees,
flowers. Relative always looks clean and smart. Visiting health staff for glasses, foot treatments also hairdresser. Very pleased with everything.

I had the pleasure of meeting the home manager recently in order to collaborate on a community project with Bluegrove House. It is a really lovely home with outdoor space and cares for the residents. The manager explained all the activities available to the residents and the plans they have to improve
the entertainment and activities at the home. They have even hired a new activity-coordinator! Bluegrove have also worked on projects with local young people which means they are opening up the care home to different types of people. This means the elderly are not being hidden away, but have the opportunity to share their experiences with different generations. This is invaluable in giving value and experience to both old and young through sharing stories. Thank you for a lovely welcome!
