Penerley Lodge is a wonderful care home. When mum needed to come into a care home after a fall at home we didn't have any choice of homes because of Covid, but we hit the jackpot with Penerley Lodge. The staff are very caring and helpful and I know mum is well looked after there. She has a lovely big
room with all her photos from home. Very clean and well presented.

I can only comment on the last 6 months to which I am 100% happy with the service provided. Staff have gone out of their way to assist both my sister and myself. Due to covid restrictions, I have not seen my sister's room and she is not taking active part in activities.

When visiting my brother, staff were welcoming with a pleasant attitude. In the medical room, we were tested for covid. We were then taken to a clean comfortable room and were offered refreshments. My brother was well-groomed and looked as if he had gained weight and looked the best I had seen him in
years. My brother did not mix well with others in recent years but was telling me how he now enjoys the activities. I am sure all my brother's needs are met. Our thanks go to all the staff.

My mother-in-law was placed here last November following 10 years of looking after her and finally having to succumb to the very difficult decision of putting her into a home. The staff here are absolutely wonderful - we cannot praise them highly enough. The kindness shown towards both her and us was
amazing. When she was taken ill while on holiday, several of the staff stayed at the hospital with her while her daughter popped home and this was very late into the evening - this is above and beyond their duties and for this, we thank them very much. Following a long illness, my mother in law died there and again their kindness went above and beyond. I would highly recommend this home just on the staff and the wonderful care they give. Thank you to all the staff that work tirelessly to look after their clients.

Penerley Lodge is the perfect place for our friend to be. It caters to her needs in a lot of ways. Staff are friendly, efficient and ready to help. The resident/friend, who lives in Penerley Lodge, likes the food, has a lovely room and likes the staff. Attending the general meeting was very informative.
Families of residents were encouraged to 'have their say'. Delighted that Penerley Lodge is available.

Overall very happy with the service. Quite a high turnover of carers but can understand why. In three years mum has been here there have been four different managers. The present manager is great and has made significant changes for the best.

Trish Mukandara is the Head of care at Penerley Lodge. She is conscientious, competent and a caring person who displays a friendly and approachable manner at all times; she also has the experience of communicating with a diverse range of multidisciplinary teams in a professional and diplomatic manner at all times and in a variety of different situations. Always expressing patience, commitment and tact in any given situation.


Trish joined Penerley Lodge in 2018 after previously working in the health and social care sector, specialising in mental health and palliative care.
