Spring Grove is situated on the Finchley Road near to Swiss Cottage, in the affluent Hampstead area of North London. The purpose-built residential home offers excellent access to nearby shops and public transport.

The home provides a happy, stimulating environment for residents while offering a comprehensive, individually tailored programme of care.

A nutritious and varied menu is prepared daily at the home which also caters for individual tastes and any dietary requirements.

Residents are offered the chance to participate in a daily schedule of activities organised and supervised by a dedicated team.

The staff at Spring Grive are uniformly kind, caring and highly skilled. My mother has received first-class care, which has been a great relief to us as she became progressively non-verbal. Every interaction I have seen (and there have been many) between staff and my mother has been a joy to see. They
have established a real relationship with her, and her pleasure and their presence are great reassurance. We are relieved that she is in such good hands.

In early 2021, my siblings and I were nervous about placing my then 94-year-old mother in a care home. Spring Grove had been recommended. She has been fortunate to receive two years of the highest level of care and attention. The staff are outstanding - they are interested, thoughtful and extremely
competent. Their dedication and commitment are extremely impressive. If my mother had arrived earlier and been able to engage in the many lively and varied activities that are offered, I know she would have enjoyed them - especially the classical music and film screenings in the comfortable communal lounges.
The well-kept gardens are lovely, and the home is in a good state.
There are many personal touches, from birthday cards and cakes to holding laptops for 'Zoom' calls to local schools visiting and creating special cards.
We are very glad that we chose Spring Grove for our mother's last home. I can only say 'thank you'.

All staff at all levels are always kind and considerate and nothing is too much trouble. They are compassionate and my mother is extremely happy with the choice she has made, as are we, her family. Keep up the excellent work - it really is appreciated.

My cousin has been a resident for many years and has had excellent care and thoughtful attention during her stay at Spring Grove Care Home. Whenever I have visited, I have seen the genuine warmth and dedication of the staff, which is so important. I have a particularly close relationship with one member
of staff, who goes out of his way to liaise with me over gifts I send - even wrapping and including a card when I sent an online Birthday gift. She has a warm and light bedroom on the upper floor near a lift and enjoys sitting by the window watching the world outside when she is not downstairs with other residents or outside in the terrace garden in warm weather. She has physical and medical disabilities, which are closely monitored. With fun activities and entertainment, the atmosphere is upbeat and positive, which has been so reassuring over these years of the pandemic. I am so grateful our nephew who found this special and caring care home for my dear cousin.

Our aunt needed full-time care after suffering a breakdown and no longer being able to look after herself. She was initially at a care home for several months, which really didn't work for her. Our search for the right home landed in Spring Grove. Right from the off, we felt the combination of care
and activities would be good for her. When she first arrived, she was severely underweight, refusing to walk or even communicate with friends and family. We have been delighted with the improvement we have seen in her to date, physically and in her general mood.
The staff all show a great level of care and kindness both to the residents and to their visiting family and friends.

My review of Spring Grove is entirely positive.
My sister became a resident about 15 months ago, and we regularly visit her.
She is very happy, and because of her dementia, and now regards it as her permanent home with which she is extremely content. She feels safe and well looked after by the staff
who I can only praise for their caring and gentle approach. There is a varied list of activities for the residents to take part in, although my sister chooses not to. The staff keep inviting her and are beginning to have some success.
We are always made to feel welcome, and all our queries are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
I cannot think of any criticism to add to balance this review, as I have none. We feel very lucky to have found this home, and long may it continue.

I simply cannot speak highly enough of Spring Grove. It was recommended by my GP when it became necessary to move my mother, who has dementia, into a care home in late October. I had always been reluctant to do this, but a visit to Spring Grove changed my mind. I was immediately impressed by the warm
atmosphere, the openness and kindness of the staff, and the evidently excellent collegial relations among the team, which gave me confidence that my mother would be happy, safe and very occupied. She has settled well; the staff are extremely kind and resourceful in caring for her and keeping her engaged and amused, as well as coordinating her medical care; she is benefiting from the company and activities and enjoying the freshly cooked and nicely varied food. The staff make me and other guests truly welcome: it is really like being part of a large extended family. The home aspires to provide professional care in a family setting - no mean feat: but it really succeeds.

My mother settled well at Spring Grove very quickly. Staff are very caring, and there is always a variety of activities for residents. The art offered is especially good. The contact with the GP and other health services is well managed, and medication is scrupulously organised. As a visitor, you are
always made to feel welcome as soon as you walk in.

I've been visiting a friend and former colleague of mine at Spring Grove Care Home for two years now and do so on a roughly fortnightly basis. I've always found the staff - whether administrative or care staff - caring, professional and - not least - engaging and fun. The standard of care seems excellent
and much effort is put into activities for residents. If I had any criticism at all it would be that the decor is looking a little tired in places but I note that the main lounge is just now being refurbished. It's also worth saying that the admin staff were excellent during the Covid pandemic and were always at pains to make sure that visits were possible.

Wonderful staff at Spring Grove, from reception and management to care staff and cleaning staff; they are all so kind and friendly. They went out of their way to make our father comfortable and to try and include him in activities, even when he was reluctant, thinking up clever tasks he would be interested
in to keep him busy. They genuinely care deeply for the residents and their families, and we can't thank them enough for the last five years.

My mother was a resident at Spring Grove from September 2018 until, sadly, she passed away in October 2022.
She settled in quickly and participated in life there until the last few months of her life.
I believe, like most other residents, Mum was not delighted to be in a home, but at the same time,
recognised that if she needed to be in a home, as she did, then Spring Grove was an excellent choice.
Throughout her stay, Mum came into contact with many care staff and administrative staff.
Our family came into contact with them during our frequent visits.
I can say that without exception, each member of staff was kind, helpful, considerate and warm towards Mum and made her stay the best it could be.
For that, we are truly grateful and cannot thank everyone enough.

My dad arrived at Spring Grove in August 2022 for respite care following a spell in the hospital. He was warmly welcomed and immediately made to feel very comfortable and at home, and as a result, he settled in very quickly. His initial 3-week stay was soon extended to 11 weeks! We have nothing but
5-star praise for all the team at Spring Grove - the kindness and constant excellent care my dad received from everyone on a daily basis is a testament to your wonderful carers and all the staff who work so hard and are continually extremely helpful and kind, thus ensuring that my dad's stay at Spring Grove was an enjoyable experience for both of us and we are very grateful to everyone. I am extremely satisfied with the care my father is receiving at Spring Grove care home. Since he arrived nearly four and a half years ago, he is treated with great kindness and dignity. The care team cannot do enough for him. Their care is both professional and warm. The entertainment facilities are
excellent, and my father feels safe and nurtured. His room overlooks a beautifully maintained garden, and the home is kept very clean. There is a great variety of foods available, which are always fresh and tasty.

She is very comfortable here. You looked after her well when she had a water infection in the autumn. She really enjoys the musical activities and is very happy. Staff are great with her and communicate well with the family.

Dad joined the Spring Grove family with a degree of Alzheimer’s that deteriorated over the time he was there, but the staff at Spring Grove catered for his evolving needs with great care and attention.
Coronavirus hit when Dad had been at Spring Grove for only 6-months, but we were confident in the
team’s ability to keep Dad safe and entertained at such a difficult time. They did what they could with Skype calls and window visits until we were able to visit again.
The team at Spring Grove were always very kind and caring; Dad came to view a number of the team as friends as did we.
As a family, we are very grateful for all that the care team and everyone at Spring Grove did for Dad.

I convalesced at Spring Grove for 14-days, after a hip replacement operation, leaving on 24th December. I had my own comfortable ensuite room with a TV. I had to self-isolate for the first 10-days as I had arrived from a hospital, so could not receive visitors, but was not bored as I had a daily newspaper
as well as the TV. The staff were friendly and efficient as they provided my daily personal care and gave me my medication; I am 77-years of age. I was able to choose my meals (three a day) from a wide menu, and they were served in my room. The food was very tasty. My laundry was done every day, so I need not have brought so many clothes with me. The room was always warm and cleaned regularly. The outstanding feature was the staff; on-call and never more than a couple of minutes away. Basically, I was waited on hand and foot for a fortnight, the closest I will ever get to having servants.

Spring Grove provides excellent care with a friendly and homely environment. Some of the care team have been there for a long time and have gotten to know the residents well. They provide lots of activities that keep the residents stimulated - something so necessary as visiting has been restricted and
visits away curtailed with Covid. I am very happy with the care my sister receives.

"Before moving to the UK, I was a Registered Nurse (RN) working as a staff nurse for three years in an Emergency Care Unit, in New Delhi, India.


I came to the UK in 2007, initially to study for an NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care, as part of understanding both the social and medical care provided in the UK.


Whilst a student I initially worked as a Nursing Assistant on a medical ward in an NHS hospital to provide me with the practical experience needed to complete my coursework.


I was fortunate to be able to work for Springdene Nursing and Care Homes, initially as a Senior Care Assistant at Springview, their care home in Enfield.


As I developed my skills, knowledge and exposure to the care home environment, I was promoted to Team Leader, then an opportunity became available to become an Assistant Manager at Spring Grove, Hampstead and then in 2018 became Home Manager.


Although I did not register as a nurse in the UK, the professionalism and clinical knowledge that I was exposed to as a nurse have helped me to be where I am today. By completing my Diploma in Leadership and Management and working my way up to Home Manager, I feel that I have the necessary skills to lead the team and provide high-quality person-centred care to residents."

During my nurse training, I worked regular shifts as a care assistant in various care homes to both enhance my skills and support my family.


In 2008, I finally qualified as a registered nurse and worked on an acute medical ward, completed my preceptorship and built on my nursing skills and knowledge.


Although I enjoyed my time in a hospital ward, I missed the ‘community’ within a care home and decided to devote my career to supporting people who live in care homes, joining Springdene Group in 2014.
