The house can accommodate 36 residents in 36 single ensuite rooms. There are assisted bathrooms available for all residents to use.

Abbeyfield House is a purpose-built dementia care home, established in 1999. There is a beautiful spacious garden filled with sensory items and ample seating making an enjoyable space to spend time outdoors.

Staff recognise the importance of maintaining relationships with family and friends and welcome them to join you at the house.

The team put on a varied and engaging calendar of social events for residents to join if they wish. The aim at Abbeyfield is to offer great care in an enjoyable environment.

Three meals a day are prepared by the fantastic catering team with all dietary requirements considered.

The home is located in South West London near Hampton Court Palace. Just a short drive from Richmond and Bushy Park and have lots of local amenities close by. The surrounding area is filled with places of natural beauty, local parks, a great high street and excellent transport links.

This property is managed by Abbeyfield Living Society (a trading name of The Abbeyfield Society).

Staff at Abbeyfield have extensive experience in caring for those with dementia and understand it can be a change to move into a dementia friendly home. Support is tailored to each individual, finding out what they enjoy and what works best for them. Doing this allows the team to continuously adapt care plans if a residents needs change over time and ensure they live meaningful and happy lives.

Abbeyfield are proud to offer respite stays here, a short-stay that can be planned ahead, or in the case of an emergency, last-minute. Suitable for individuals seeking support following post-operative or hospital care, or whilst their regular caregiver takes a break, respite care can also be used as a way of introducing long-term residential care to a loved one.

My Grandmother has been at the home for some time and she has settled in very well. The home is very clean and the staff are very kind and caring. I have regular contact with my grandmother over Skype due to Covid and the lock-down, and she is in good spirits and is well-groomed and looked after and
always has a smile on her face. Though we miss her very much the home is doing a great job in communicating to our family with regular updates during these challenging times. The manager is very professional and organised and has explained to me the process of what they have been doing to keep my grandmother safe with PPE and the plans that are in place for vaccines. As a family, we thank the manager and staff for all their hard work and efforts in these difficult times and we look forward to coming back to the home to thank them in person, we highly recommend this home.

I cannot say enough about how happy we are with the care provided for my dear mother. Because I cannot visit her often I rely on video calls which are kindly organised by the home. My mother always comes across very happy and contented and looks very well cared for. Also she has dementia, she always
tells me how well she is being looked after. Since she arrived at the home she has had a new lease of life. I am very grateful to all the staff who are doing their best.

My grandmother is 98 years old with severe dementia. I've been coming to Abbeyfield House for the last five years and the level of care is fantastic. I come fairly regularly and very much enjoy interacting with the staff and residents.
Of all the care homes my grandmother has been to and we've visited
as a family, Abbeyfield House is the best. I would recommend this to anyone with dementia the care is exceptional. The staff are very professional and patient and the residents have good fun.

I count myself very fortunate to have found Abbeyfield as a home for mum. Whenever I visited, I saw staff with the residents, interacting, having a sympathetic relationship. The organisation of the home into small "family" units makes it feel domestic in scale rather than institutional but the residents
do move around within the home to take part in different activities, so it isn't claustrophobic. The programme of activities and outings was excellent and they even put on a special party for her 90th birthday. In terms of cost, it is very reasonable for the London area. When we were looking for a home, I visited several that were much smarter and considerably more expensive but none had the warmth I saw at Abbeyfield. The paintwork might be a bit scuffed in places, but in my experience, they got all the important things right. Sadly mum died in December; three staff members came to her funeral.

Very well run, clean, spacious, friendly atmosphere. Residents treated with dignity and respect. Good menu with a variety of nutritious healthy food. The rooms are regularly cleaned and tidied. Very happy with the care and attention that the team give to my friend. I am always made to feel very welcome and enjoy invites to some social events. It is sometimes very difficult to keep to the visiting hours but I do my best. I feel that my friend does benefit from my visits but I know that this
is the best place for her to be cared for.

This is a dementia home. My uncle and aunt in their 90's live here. He has advanced dementia and is very sedentary, whereas she suffers memory loss but could be more active. He becomes very agitated if she is not with him so sadly her opportunities for exercise activities are minimal.
The staff are
aware of this and I'm impressed with their understanding and attempts to find ways around this to alleviate my aunt's predicament. Both my relatives like their environment are comfortable there and always speak well of the food. I witnessed on memory/recognition sessions which I thought was excellent and wished my aunt could have participated in. I like the staff I've had contact with and feel they have skills, experience and compassion and that standards, in general, are high.

My mother moved to Abbeyfield in New Malden in February 2017. We are so impressed with the level of care and support my mother has been given. All of the staff are friendly and professional. My mother is very calm in the home, and she settled very quickly. We think it is a fantastic care home and

The home is just what my mum needs. As ticked, the food and rooms are in good condition, the staff are very pleasant and co-operative with all that is needed. Maybe decoration needs updating, otherwise we have no complaints yet! Garden needs tidying up but in fair condition, nice to sit in on summer
