Bullsmoor Lodge is a purpose-built care home, located close to Waltham Cross in Enfield, Middlesex. It forms part of the AgeCare group, an elderly care provider that aims to provide outstanding care in luxurious five star hotel standard accommodation.

The care home is designed to cater for elderly people requiring standard residential or dementia care. Every bedroom has en-suite facilities, a private telephone, television and emergency call system. All rooms are fully furnished but residents may bring their own furniture as they wish.

The home prides itself on having a professional, caring and considerate team of staff that will always go above and beyond to ensure their residents' comfort, safety and wellbeing. A full programme of activities is run throughout the week for residents to enjoy and participate in.

I am very impressed with the care, love and cleanliness of this home. The carers and managers give more than 100% of their love to the residents. My mother-in-law loves being there, after 5 months is very settled and now calls it home. I have been to care homes where the smell is really bad, and the
rooms are dirty, this is not the case with Bullsmoor.

Mother-in-law has settled in well in the home.
She is relaxed and joins in with the activities organised by the staff. The home has a relaxed and informal atmosphere generated by staff. Although relaxed, the staff are very thorough and attentive. Mother-in-law is relaxed and says she is happy there
though sometimes talks about going home but this is to her childhood home.

The room was very comfortable and the staff very warm and friendly. Everyone had meals together which encouraged poeple to chat. My stay was short due to an operation but was made to feel very welcome.

The Home is generally well run with good management and my Mother is happy there. It is, however, let down by a lack of communication e.g some staff were not told that my mother is a vegetarian and this still happens despite her making this clear. In addition, staff are sometimes very rushed and do
not give my Mother the time that she needs. Some staff are very friendly whilst others, unfortunately, are less so.

I am always pleased with the attention of the staff with my mum and when I visit.

A good level of cleanliness and staff always engage well with the residents, the quality of and the variety of food is good, staff are always proactive in getting residents to drink fluids and there is always the offer of tea or coffee for visitors, management work hard to provide a variety entertainment
for residents.

My grandmother has lived at Bullsmoor Lodge for over twenty years. The staff have always been very caring and the staff turnover is very low, which has meant my grandmother has a very positive relationship with staff. Our whole family have always been very pleased with all aspects of her care.

We have been using Bullsmoor Lodge for 4 years now when we put my mother into Respite. They are friendly people who take good care of the elderly. It is a lovely clean property decorated to a high standard. We always feel confident leaving her there knowing she is well cared for.

My mum has been a resident in Bullsmoor Lodge for several years and I am pleased to report I still have confidence and complete peace of mind knowing that she is cared for with kindness and dignity. I am a regular visitor to the home, am always made welcome and any issues I may have regarding mum
are dealt with promptly. I think the 'jewels in the crown' of Bullsmoor Lodge are the staff, I couldn't ask for better people to look after my mum.

The staff, as far as I have seen are very helpful and friendly and do their best to maintain the happiness and well being of the residence. The management of the home is also to be commended. I can only go by what I have seen, but it would be nice if fresh fruit ie peaches, grapes, strawberries are
offered to residents. Also the choice of a slice of mature cheddar and freshly cut bread, instead of pre-cut.

My mother has been at Bullsmoor Lodge for nearly 4 1/2 years. She is treated with dignity and respect. The staff always find a way of understanding her needs, especially when she is not having a good day.
There is a good variety of food on offer to the residents. Although my mother does not always
participate, they have a variety of activities and entertainment for the residents.
They notice quickly when there is a change in my mother’s health and keep me informed of the doctor's visits and change to her medication.

The care home is managed very well there is always plenty of staff around and they seem to interact with the residents in a happy jovial way.
My mum has a lovely room which was redecorated and refurnished before she moved in. The home has an excellent detailed care plan for her and has managed to stabilise
her screaming and mood swings. I can honestly say I am very satisfied with the care she is receiving.

The staff are friendly, polite, informative, observant and very caring. Clean and safe environment. The staff are attentive to my mum's needs and make every effort to keep her safe, entertained, happy and they also give her responsibilities as she likes to be busy, so she has a sense of purpose and
pride.
My mum was losing weight and wandering, she is now strong, healthy and has put on weight and is very well looked after.

My dad arrived at Bullsmoor Lodge from the hospital in a dreadful state. He was very ill and we were told there was nothing the hospital could do and that he would not recover. But after three months of the best attention and care we could ask for, our dad has been able to come home and is better than
he has been in years!! The management and staff are truly wonderful and nothing was ever too much trouble for them and their patients, care and kindness was much appreciated by dad and our family.

I lunch with my dear friend once a week. It enables me to see what is given as I eat the same. Also, I am able to see how much she consumes as well as how she manages. I have always found the staff to be friendly and courteous to myself and observe that all the residents are treated likewise. Overall,

Shirley began her care journey in her teens, volunteering in various care sectors. After gaining valuable knowledge and confidence in the profession, she officially joined Bullsmoor Lodge in 2008, where she achieved an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care. Over the years, Shirley has progressed through various roles, eventually becoming Care Coordinator in 2017. In this role, she works closely with management, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care. Shirley thrives on challenges and enjoys taking on new projects. Maggie

Maggie Jackson

Maggie has worked in the care industry for 15 years, beginning her career at Bullsmoor Lodge. She progressed from Care Assistant to Senior, and since 2017, has held the role of Care Coordinator, working closely with the Manager. Maggie holds an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, as well as a Level 5 qualification as a Health Care Practitioner. Although qualified in Phlebotomy, she chose to remain in the care sector, driven by her passion for making a positive difference in residents' lives. Maggie is dedicated to providing excellent care and enhancing the well-being of those she serves.
