There's a choice of lounges and conservatories for relaxing or catching up with loved ones, as well as a cinema room, hair and beauty salon and an activities room packed full of games and arts materials. Outside there are lovely gardens for watching the birds or helping with some planting.

The home has always been open with me if my Father had any issues when he stayed. He was always made welcome and seemed to enjoy his time there.

The Burroughs, my father was only in residential care for a matter of 6 months. During this time he was happy, clean and comfortable. The staff were so patient, kind and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Any health issues were dealt with immediately. I cannot fault the care he received.

Our overall review is that the staff in this care home are really caring, not just to the resident, but also supportive of family members.
The care home has had a new manager and she has made it exceptional. It no longer looks like a magnolia space. She has injected colour and innovations to make it
homely for all who use it.

My mother moved to The Burroughs on 16 July 2019, as she had to leave her previous care home due to poor management and practice. The manager and her staff at The Burroughs are excellent, providing quality care and support at all times. We feel our mother is safe, secure and well looked after at the
home. The care is of an extremely high standard, and we are grateful to the care home for making our mother's transition from her previous home to The Burroughs so seamless and supportive.

My sister and I had to move our mum from another care home where there were serious safeguarding concerns. We visited many care homes and were then lucky enough to find The Burroughs, which stood out as a really happy, caring environment where residents are treated with genuine respect and kindness.
Mum has settled in so quickly and is doing so well. She loves the staff and her room, is enjoying the activities and the lovely food, putting on weight - she lost 5 kilos at the previous home. The Burroughs is so well managed, and that is such a massive contrast with the previous home. We will always be grateful to the manager who has been so supportive, kind and understanding, at such a difficult time, and to all of her team.

Visited on a fun day where there was a lovely atmosphere with plenty of activities to get involved in.


Entertainment was very good. Singers, bouncy castles and birds of prey for the children.


Residents seemed to enjoy the atmosphere with lots of foot tapping and some dancing. Staff very friendly.

My grandmother appears to be very happy.

My mum has only started residing at the care home. I have been particularly impressed with the staff. They are all very friendly and helpful. I have been to a celebration tea party and summer fair recently and the staff go out of their way to make sure the residents join in and enjoy themselves. It
has a nice airy atmosphere and the gardens are a real bonus. They are lovely and it is great that the residents have access to them. I fell that my mum is being well looked after.

The Burroughs has been brilliant looking after mum. She loves doing crafts with the carers, she loves singing now and again. My mother-in-law is 91 and The Burroughs have been looking after her. She has been unwell and they have bent over backwards, getting appointments to help her and follow this through.
She knows some of the carers names and has small chats. The home is excellent and the people who work there from reception to the top always answer any questions I have. I think it is a great care home.

My mother has been in The Burroughs for four years and I have found the staff to be very caring, attentive and thoughtful. My only concern would be for the times there have been staff shortages both for the staff and residents.


The food is cooked on site and is extremely good. There is always a choice.

The home is kept clean and tidy and is always welcoming.

Mum is quite content now, she is rarely anxious or upset. The girls know her well so we know she is being well looked after. As she is quite immobile now she has put on a bit of extra weight and the staff are cutting fone a bit on squash and milk etc. So that doesn't get out of hand.

My mother has severe dementia. She was at home, cared for by my sister who unfortunately passed away. I think The Burroughs look after her very well. She is better off at the care home as there is usually something going on. Even though she cannot really join in with much at all, she can still see activities
going on or just people coming and going. The food is excellent. My only real problem is that as she is so quiet she is often ignored. She cannot express her needs.

In regards to activities, we understand how important these are for residents and, although we would never force anyone to take part if they did not wish to, we always make sure everyone is given the choice and is supported to join in if they would like. As well as offering a varied group activity programme that changes weekly and is tailored to resident’s abilities, we also run regular one-to-one activities for residents, particularly those that may not always be able, or willing, to join in the group activities.
