Emerson Court a small happy home with a qualified and trained team of staff members who are fully resourced and supported in catering for the needs of each individual resident. Specialising in dementia care and provide a homely environment with the focus on living and continuing relationships with loved ones, family friends and the community.

Ensuring each individual's safety and comfort, the service specialises in many complex needs which can include dementia and end-of-life care, as well as offering respite care.

Home-cooked meals are made to be nutritious and popular, taking on board any dietary requirements, which residents can enjoy in the main dining area, their bedroom, lounge or the conservatory areas. The interior is ideal for those with reduced mobility and there are numerous activities to enjoy.

A member of the team brings her dog, Milo to work most days. He is a great companion to residents and staff and very well behaved. If you are not keen on dogs he is always on a lead and well-trained. He spends the majority of his days in the office.

I arrived at 10 am to take my friend out as she is quite fit and able to walk without any aids. The residents were having breakfast, some in the dining room and some in their chairs. They all had different meals of what they wanted. They are always seen happy and like to have a chat. The rooms are well-kept
and spotless. I can find no fault with the home. The staff are also friendly and work hard and will answer any questions.

My mother moved to Emerson Court in September 2022 from another care home. The difference was unbelievable. The care, companionship, fun and atmosphere at Emerson are amazing. My mum is always laughing, singing and dancing with the carers. It feels like a home from home and I cannot recommend Emerson
Court enough to anyone else in my situation. An absolutely amazing home!

My mother has Alzheimer's and has been a resident at Emerson Court for 3 years. I can honestly say that I wouldn't want her anywhere else. It is just like a 'home from home' with all the added care and attention that she needs. Staff are very approachable and friendly and keep us fully up to date with
any concerns they may have about mum's health and well-being.

Unfortunately, unable to see rooms due to Covid. We feel very relaxed knowing how well our Mum is being cared for. Any concerns have always been answered.

Emerson Court is a very good care home. It is always fresh and clean, and all the staff are friendly and helpful. When I was able to visit, the meals always looked delicious. The garden is beautiful. I can ring at any time with a query, and staff can always answer it straight away. I love the fact that
it is small and friendly, so I know nearly all the staff personally. My aunt passed away there a few weeks ago, and the manager really went "the extra mile" in looking after her and keeping me informed. Thank you to all of them.

Mum has been at Emerson Court for almost 4-years now. From day one, the staff have been incredibly supportive and understanding of Mum's needs. There is a really homely atmosphere there, and residents' rooms are comfy. Mum can be difficult, and the staff simply seem to take it in their stride and deal
with it - nothing phases them. Mum has always seemed happy to be there, and it is good to see her have a laugh and joke with the staff, who obviously really care about her. The contact and support from management are fantastic, and I know that should I have any concerns, they will deal with them immediately. I have recommended Emerson Court to my neighbour recently and wouldn't hesitate to do so to anyone else! Thank you

My sister has been staying at this care home since December 2014. She is very happy and well looked after and the staff are very friendly and very attentive. She could not have received any better care. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.

My mother has lived her for two years and she always seems very contented. It is a small, friendly home with a living room, dining room, conservatory and a summer house. The care needs of each individual resident appears to be well addressed by the compassionate staff. The management team welcome comments
and are always available. As a family, we are happy with the care our mother is receiving

The staff are caring and professional. My father is happy in the home and says the staff are very good. The staff keep my father's appearance neat and tidy. The standard of hygiene and meals served is exceptional.

My mother was a resident here for nearly 16 years and throughout her time there her care and support from all staff was brilliant. We cannot praise this Home enough for everything they have done in the past and also the support they have given us as a family. I do not know how I would have coped especially
at the end of her life without their support and the care they gave my Mum in the last weeks of her life.

My gratitude goes to everyone at Emerson Court and we will still visit them in the future as it feels so much part of our lives.

My Mother arrived at Emerson Court having been through the NHS mental health assessment process. Having lasting Power of Attorney, my brother and I visited many care homes in our area but we soon realised that this establishment went beyond the norm in that we witnessed a sense of premier caring, attention
and professionalism, duly delivered by the Manager and his team of excellent staff. They immediately kept a very close detailed watch over our mother deploying longstanding knowledge of care generally not visible in other establishments. We are thrilled that Mum's general mental and physical health is much improved, she is now well settled and feels safe and secure. Well done to the team!

We got her into this home and couldn't find any fault what so ever. She was truly cared for until she passed away. The staff even went to see her in hospital and attended her funeral. All the staff and management are so caring and helpful. A lovely residential home.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.056)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.056) out of 10 for Emerson Court Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.818 for Emerson Court Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (9 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 11 Ratings = 4.818

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.238 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Emerson Court Residential Home is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 21 registered maximum number of service users is 4.2. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.2 = 0.238

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
