My mother-in-law was already in Ebury Court and I knew she was getting well looked after so when my mum and myself decided she would have to go into care I contacted them and luckily they had a place for her. With her condition, I imagine Mum was a handful at times and sometimes she would phone me imagining
she was still doing her old job as a manager and the carers were working for her and complaining they weren’t doing what they were told and I was on the phone listening to my mum berating and abusing them and I must say the staff were absolutely brilliant and handled her very calmly and professionally. When Mum was good she joined in with the activities that were put on and I have some nice photos of her enjoying that. When Mum passed I was unable to be with her but I know she was cared for and I like to think she wasn’t with strangers in her last days. I cannot thank Ebury and their staff enough for looking after Mum in the 9 months she was with them.

My aunt passed away last December and due to circumstances at that time I was not able to be with her. However, I felt certain that the end-of-life care she was receiving from the staff at Ebury Court Care Home was of the highest standard and I was kept fully informed. The high standards maintained
at Ebury Court started on the day she arrived and continued till her passing.

Just over a year ago, we found ourselves having to move my Mother into a care home. Normally, this is difficult enough, but doing it during the pandemic was even more worrying - there was no way to personally tour facilities, only go by the reviews various homes in the area received.
It was good fortune
that we found Ebury Court via their stellar reviews. Everything worked out spectacularly. From the welcome from the wonderful staff (and they really do go above and beyond) to the brilliant facilities, thoughtful care, and the graciousness that informs every aspect of their interactions with residents and their families.
My Mother is safe, happy and extremely well cared for. I'd rate Ebury Court 6 stars if I could.

Ebury Court is an award-winning outstanding care home with a well trained, friendly team. The staff and management are always visible, knowledgeable and approachable. The residents are treated with respect and dignity. Every effort is taken to ensure that each resident is happy and able to partake
in the varied activities.
Unfortunately, my friend died this year. He received palliative care for the last few weeks of his life. The end of life care was second to none. He was shown so much kindness and was able to die peacefully without pain. The team were very supportive of family and friends at a difficult time.
Ebury Court always maintains high standards and is never complacent but is always looking for ways to improve its excellent service.

Ebury Court has been my home to my Nan, as well as a home to us for the past 14 years. As my Nan approaches 100, I know we made the best possible choice for her care. After visiting all the excellent and above homes, this was our chosen place. We’ve never once regretted our choice. The home is family-run,
with a very much family feel. The staff are all outstanding, the manager runs a very tight ship and never fails the residents. If you are looking for a care home in this area, look no further.

This care home really bothers about standards. It is always friendly and clean. My mother's care was excellent. They have lots of activities and really do their best to keep residents stimulated. I am not sure how they manage to keep so jolly! The physical surroundings are pleasant, the garden is lovely
and very well cared for. The room where visits take place (COVID permitting) is lovely. She did not want to come to a care home but settled in and became at home. The staff had a great rapport with her, lots of lightheartedness and fun. There is a big focus on dignity and respect for residents. and another big focus on safety. In the same situation - the awful prospect of needing to get my mother into a home when she didn't want to go - I would choose Ebury Court again.

I was nervous when I commit my mother to a care home, but my fears have been completely allayed at Ebury Court. The home is fantastic, and I couldn't recommend it enough. The staff are very friendly. The standard of care is exemplary. The food is varied, plentiful and of good quality. The rooms are
nice with their own facilities (TV and WC), and with a communal shower and separate bathroom. The garden is beautifully cared for, and the owners are constantly investing in extra facilities and improvements. Laundry services are included daily, and there are regular visits (post-Covid) of doctors, dentist, chiropodist, optician and even a hairdresser. Regular entertainment is organised as many birthday parties and celebration days. I am totally satisfied with the care that Mum is getting, and I am thoroughly reassured by the safety and support that she receives from the excellent team of Ebury Court, from the chef to the owner.

We are extremely pleased with the care that my mother enjoys at Ebury Court. The facility is super clean and well-appointed - it is more akin to a hotel than a care/residential home. The gardens are beautifully kept too. My mother particularly enjoys the menu and standard of food which is really high.
She is really fussy when it comes to food but she always praises the meals on offer. For example, one day whilst visiting I walked past the kitchen windows and noticed a tray of large blue Duck eggs which impressed me at the time as it suggested to me that the catering staff were interested in quality ingredients. All of the staff that I have met have been very nice and caring. Most importantly, mum likes them and always tells me how much they look after her. Ebury Court is run in a very professional manner and we get regular updates. This is important to me personally as I feel that I am being included in my mother's care and arrangements. Recommended without hesitation.

Our aunt has resided at Ebury Court for just over two years, and we can honestly say that it was one of the best decisions we made for her care and well-being. We have seen a huge improvement in our Aunts physical and mental health throughout this period, and she genuinely loves her time at Ebury Court
and feels very much part of the family. The standard of care and facilities are fantastic, there is an excellent range of activities, along with a first-class catering service on offer throughout the day. We are also very pleased to see the continued improvement to the buildings, gardens and facilities offered to the residents and agreed as part of a joint consultation with them. This is all delivered by a first-class Care and Management Team who always put the needs of the residents as their first priority and are very understanding and proactive at keeping family members updated on any concerns and good news stories.

I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful care home. My aunt moved to Ebury Court in 2020 during the pandemic and at the most difficult time for us all. We were so worried about the settling-in process without the family helping her to adjust. But the staff and management have been nothing short
of remarkable. They are so caring, friendly, approachable and always available to reassure and support us. Every member of staff is just lovely. The leadership team and senior staff are extremely professional and efficient. The care and safety of residents is their absolute priority. The facilities and building of the care home are always being improved and the outside space is beautifully maintained. The food looks fabulous, especially the amazing homemade birthday cakes they make personally for the residents! The care my aunt is receiving is outstanding and I am completely satisfied we have made the right choice. Thank you Ebury Court.

Until my mother-in-law died in December 2019 she was cared for extremely well for the past four years.
She was treated with dignity and respect right to the very end when she was receiving palliative care.
All staff were outstanding as they have been throughout. I visited my mother-in-law 2/3 times
a week, if not more and was always happy with what I observed, very caring compassionate staff.

My mother had been a resident of Ebury Court for 6 and a half years until her death in August 2019. Throughout that time my mother's care was amazing. Her care was always focused on what she was able to achieve and enjoy. This obviously varied as both her dementia and physical capabilities declined.
All the staff were committed to the 'ethos' of Ebury and provided the highest level of care for her. When I made my weekly visits to Ebury to see my mother or when visiting for a special celebration I always felt part of the Ebury family.
My mother was in palliative care for a number of weeks. Her care was outstanding. She was always treated with the utmost respect. The home also embraced and cared for all the family as we spent as much time as we wanted at her bedside.
Ebury is a truly amazing care home that is always looking to improve it's already impeccable standard of care. As a family, we are forever grateful that our sister chose Ebury to look after our mother in her final years.

For anybody put in the position of looking for a care home that you feel is the best for your loved one is tough.
From the first day, I stepped through the door of Ebury Court, my mum and I were made extremely welcome. I had the confidence to walk away and let the staff do what they do best. Although
the 18-month stay seemed to pass so quickly, I enjoyed every visit and was encouraged to join in with the staff and residents on many occasions. We lost Mum a few weeks ago on November 19th but would say her time spent at Ebury Court gave her all the respect and dignity she would have had if she stayed at home with family.
Thank you to all the staff and management at Ebury Court for making this time as easy as possible.

Three years have passed since our mum has been cared for at Ebury Court. Our family has seen a dramatic change in mum's health and wellbeing. When looking for a care home, we wanted one that specialised in dementia, especially Alzheimer's Disease. This we found in Edbury. The staff, carers, management
and support staff are very caring and respectful of the residences and very compassionate not only to our mum but the family as well as we are all going through this disease together. Mum has gone from an angry confused and frightened individual to speaking very highly of the carers at Edbury. Words like the food is nice, my friends the residents and my best friends the carers. We no longer worry about mum as she's happy, laughing more and participates in many activities offered at Edbury. As most of her children are abroad those words are very soothing and finally, we are at peace with our decision to leave mum in the caring hands at Edbury Court Care Home.

On first viewing Ebury Court we felt it was welcoming, information was clear about what they provided and the staff were very approachable. Our Mum was very well cared for in the comfort of her room and drinks were available when they were requested and also given regularly throughout the day, 24 hours.
Both were excellent quality. We were recommended Ebury Court by a family member and we then did the same to a friend of ours and would always recommend Ebury Court as they cared for our Mum in every way until her untimely passing recently.

Richard

Richard Key

Job Title: Managing Director

Joined: 1982

Ebury Court is an independent family-run business, established by the Chairman, Mr Key (Senior), in 1981.


It is still very much a family concern. Richard has worked at Ebury Court for over 40 years and is now the Managing Director.


Richard is passionate about the quality of our service and keeping older people at the very centre of our care. He has a visible daily presence within the home, is involved in all aspects of the service and is committed to ensuring that, not just the care, but also, the physical environment is of the highest standard. To this end, he ensures that there is continued reinvestment in the business to enhance the quality of the residents' lives.


He is very interested in cutting-edge technologies. An example of this would be the sourcing, purchase and introduction of the Carendo shower chair which has truly transformed the lives of our residents.


He has extensive knowledge and understanding of the care environment necessary to ensure the highest standards. He oversaw all aspects of the design, procurement, construction and subsequent furnishings of our wonderful Orangery.


He is also unique in his commitment and support of new groundbreaking care initiatives, for example, Namaste Care and The Lavender Club.


Staff feel he is very approachable and supportive. He is actively involved in staff meetings and listens to their views before making important decisions. He also knows all the residents within the home and can often be seen socialising with them and their loved ones.

Beverley has been the Registered Manager at Ebury Court Care Home since 2004. She has worked in Health and Social Care for over 40 years in the fields of Mental Health, Child Protection and the elderly. She is a passionate advocate of the rights of older people and committed to ensuring that the intrinsic discrimination which is present within our society does not prevail at Ebury Court. She has a keen interest in cutting edge initiatives and has developed unique care programmes to meet the needs of both those with early and end stage dementia. She worked with Professor Ladislav Volicer on a research programme in relation to Namaste Care and her article was subsequently published in the American Journal of Alzheimers. Another ground-breaking initiative was the concept of Nursing Associates working in a residential setting. She supported a senior member of staff to complete the Nursing Associate degree and he is now practising within our home, one of the first ever to practice within a non-Nursing home environment – a true integration of health and social care.

Ann Ayris

Job Title: Care Manager

Joined: 1989

Ann is a very well respected and key member of our management team with over 33 years’ experience in social care. She has a considerable amount of expertise in relation to palliative care, together with her extensive knowledge, makes her an excellent Care Leader and outstanding role model. She shares her knowledges freely and shows staff the practical skills in relation to end of life care and also enables them to understand the emotional challenges involved for both the residents and their families. She is an excellent communicator and uses these skills to discuss advance care planning and DNAR with both residents and relatives ensuring that all documentation is in place thus supporting residents to die peacefully and pain free in a manner and place of their choosing. Ann works very professionally and efficiently with a range of other health and social care professionals including our GP. She co-leads the weekly in-house GP surgery, co-ordinates the practical aspects of the clinic and ensures that staff have a solid understanding of resident’s healthcare issues in order that these can be promptly identified and addressed. She is a very popular Care Leader and staff feel confident to approach her to discuss any aspects of resident’s care knowing they will be listened to and supported. Ann has the unique ability to not only lead staff but also to focus on keeping the residents care needs at the very heart of her care practice.

Debbie Langdon

Job Title: Training and Development Manager

Joined: 1998

Debbie is a well-respected and key member of our management team with over 24 years of experience. She uses her knowledge and experience in her current role as a training and Development Manager. She has a key area of responsibility to oversee one area of our Ancillary Staff. She generously shares her knowledge with all staff, identifies their key skills and oversees their development and training. She is very supportive of junior staff and all staff feel confident to approach her and value her support and guidance. Debbie is very measured in her approach, a very good communicator and works professionally to a high standard with other health and social care professionals to ensure that our service is of the highest quality and meets the broad range of our individual service user’s needs. She has a solid knowledge and understanding of our residents and, together with our other Senior Managers, she focuses on keeping our resident's needs at the very heart of her care practice. Staff feel confident to approach Debbie to discuss any aspects of our residents’ care knowing they will be listened to and supported.


Ajeesh

Ajeesh Thomas

Job Title: Nursing Associate

In July 2004, Ajeesh came to the UK with the purpose of pursuing higher education with a view to working in the care sector. In October 2005, he successfully applied for a part time position at Ebury Court, commencing his career in December 2005. In 2009, he was offered a full-time position and continued in this post for 3 years taking up all training opportunities including achieving NVQ level 2 and 4 in Health and Social Care. In 2012, Ajeesh was promoted to the role of Senior and in 2014, Ebury Court recognised his outstanding qualities and created a post of Senior Care Co-ordinator for him. As part of these new responsibilities, he continued to grow and develop gaining significant qualifications including the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services ‘Adults Management. In this role, he has also taken the lead for co-ordinating end-of-life care. Since March 2020, he took full responsibility for overseeing and co-ordinating the COVID 19 testing. Working collaboratively with clinicians confirmed that he wished to become a clinician. However, he was hugely conflicted as he was committed to Ebury Court where he had worked and flourished for many years. The dilemma facing him was to choose between working in the Care home and an apprenticeship at the local hospital. However, thanks to a new pilot Apprentice Nurse Associate Programme, Ajeesh was able to do both, qualifying in September 2022. He has flourished within this role which culminated in him being awarded the Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care’s Silver Award. He is now able to use both his considerable skills as a Carer and a Nurse within Ebury Court – a true integration of Health and Social Care.
