My dad has been in Elm Glade Residential Home for 3 years. We have always felt he is well cared for and his individual needs have been observed and addressed. He can't communicate therefore the staff have had to be very observant to pick up health issues which have been passed to his GP efficiently.
We are very grateful to the staff for the kind way they look after him.

This is a lovely friendly and caring home. We transferred our Mum here from another home that looked really nice, seemed very posh, but was sadly lacking when it came to the actual caring. Every single member of staff we've met has been fantastic. Very friendly and caring.

My mother has been a resident at Elm Glade for four years now. She suffers from dementia which has had a continued cognitive and psychological effect which cannot be reversed. The staff have provided fantastic support and understanding and they continue to do so. Elm Glade provides an empathetic and
caring environment which is very reassuring to me.

The home is friendly and their staff are very caring. My mum is always well turned out and tidy. Care has been taken to match earnings and necklace to what she is wearing. She is always happy when with the staff so she obviously trusts them. They make a point of letting me know of any problems if they
occur.

My mum-in-law has been staying at Elm Glade Residential Care Home for about a month now. She seems so happy there and tells us how she loves being there. The staff and management have played an important role in this, and for that, I am truly grateful. She is being well looked after, and the food and
hospitality have been excellent. She shares a bedroom, which has turned out to be a great decision. There is a wide range of activities, which she has been encouraged to do and has been dancing to music, which she loves. It's been a great relief for the family to see how well she has settled in. Thank you, Elm Glade.

My mum has been at Elm Glade for about 8 months. Her dementia meant that the first few weeks were confusing and difficult for her. The carers however understood and were able to help her make the transition to her new life. She has a very nice room looking out onto the large garden. We were able to
bring in a couple of her own armchairs, plus a TV which was kindly installed on the wall for her.
The standard of care is very high, the carers are always kind, attentive and patient. There is no doubt that Mum's general well-being has improved since she's been at Elm Glade.
Whenever we visit, the staff are welcoming and always have time to discuss and help with any questions we may have. We are very satisfied with the level of service being provided, we know Mum is in good hands and is being well cared for. We are glad we found and chose Elm Glade.

Mum has been a resident at Elm Glade for 5 years now. She is very happy and feels safe and well-supported in all aspects of her care. Mum has a good size bedroom with her own furniture, pictures and ornaments making us feel very homely. Home-made meals are very good and those needing food liquidised
due to swallowing problems are very well managed, with advice from a dietitian, ensuring all dietary needs are met. Every member of staff is approachable and attentive to her needs. Elm Glade is very well-managed, is clean tidy and welcomes family members and visitors. Staff keep us well informed and any concerns with health are dealt with by visits from the doctor, dentist or chiropodist as required. Activities in the TV lounge leading into the conservatory and garden, perfect care.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.659)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.659) out of 10 for Elm Glade is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.759 for Elm Glade is calculated as follows: ( (82 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.759

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Elm Glade is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 registered maximum number of service users is 4.8, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
