Elmstead is a 40-bedded residential home which includes a 12 bedded safe environment for residential dementia care, welcoming both long and short-term stays.

The home has good transport links with a regular bus route going to Bromley and Eltham stopping directly outside the home, local train station going into London only a short walk away and, not to mention easy access to the A20.

Elmstead has four comfortable lounges that are ideal for socialising, relaxing or welcoming visitors. Other facilities include an onsite hairdressing salon and well-maintained gardens that include spacious patio areas, summer house and pond. The home also has visiting chiropodists, opticians and dentists (arrangement by appointment when needed).

The chef takes a personal approach to diet, and meals are catered to individual tastes. There are always cold snacks and alternatives available throughout the day.

There’s a real sense of community at the home. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests.

Having its own large activities room and dedicated activities team, allows Elmstead to offer a seven-day activities programme. From weekly breakfast club, baking clubs, live entertainment, school half-term family days which involve children from the local community, craft mornings with the local nursery, movement to music and visiting animals to name a few, there is always something going on.

1. Food, sandwiches every day and overcooked dinners that have been kept hot for 2 plus hours.


2. Patients/clients sitting staring in general from 7 am til 7 pm at times.


3. Garden door locked, no access for the frail clients. No social interaction over the weekend. No ice for drinks! Poor squash.

The home is amazing, excellent staff from the manager to carers, kitchen staff and cleaners. The activities laid on are well thought out and varied. It's lovely that relatives are invited to join the residents on many occasions. Relatives are always made welcome no matter what time you arrive. I love
the individual lounges you can visit which makes it feel like a cosy place to chat. Felt so reassured my mum is well looked after in a safe place. She's very happy here.

My Mum has lived at Elmstead for over 3 years and is very happy. It is like a home from home. She likes the staff and they care for her very well, especially as her dementia has progressed. A special mention must go to the cooks who prepare the meals and lovely birthday cakes.

I found all the staff at Elmstead extremely friendly, caring and professional. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The activity coordinators are excellent and devise activities and involve residents to stimulate their mind and bodies.
My mother has commented on the good quality and variety of food
in a clean and safe environment.

What a fantastic environment to live and work in! I am always so impressed with the work ethic of the staff here. They truly go the extra mile for their residents who they all consider to be extensions of their own family. If a day comes for me to move into a care home I pray that it is with the Elmstead
team. I know I’ll be in safe and caring hands then. If you want excellent nutrition, amazing entertainment and the very best people caring for your loved one then look no further than Elmstead care home.

Fantastic place that started with the most relaxing, friendly welcome at the front desk as soon as you walk through the door from a very knowledgeable receptionist who showed me around and then introduced me to an equally lovely manager.
No stiff stuffy uniform and office which immediately gives a
proper homely feel, like you’ve walked into a home and not a business. All staff are kind and friendly and really do care. The residents have lots of fun and they even have a cat. I’d happily live there myself if and when the time comes. Well done Elmstead, you have a little gem here.

This home has always provided help answering our questions whilst providing daily care for our mum. They have been really helpful when mum had to go to the hospital for an appointment. My main concern is that residents tend to sit in the lounge with the telly on most of the day, but I appreciate that
the residents have to "get up and go" themselves.

I cannot rate this care home highly enough. Everything from the fantastic management to the dedicated staff, to the fantastic activities and events provided, are of extremely high quality. The word home is key in describing Elmstead as that is exactly how it feels for all the residents and visitors.

My father was at Elmstead Care Home for 13 years. We as a family consider that he had the optimum care we could have wished for. Everything from the day to day care routine, medical needs, food and engaging with him in a way that made him feel comfortable with whatever he felt able to do was met with
consideration and kindness. He wasn't someone who particularly wanted to participate in activities or outings but that was certainly on offer and his wishes were respected in regard to that.

This care home has exceeded most of my expectations relating to the welfare of my mother. Not the easiest elderly lady to look after but she is happy, clean and settled after being here three months now. The staff are dedicated to making life as full and fun as is possible. My mum is well looked after
which in turn has given me my life back. Kind, caring, professional people in a caring, clean environment.

I first entered the home unannounced with the idea of seeing if the home was suitable for my friend for short term respite. I was immediately struck by the open and friendly attitude of all staff and the happiness of the residents - the home had a buzz! My friend has been integrated within the home
and have been involved with any activities she has wanted to join in, looked after and cared for as a family member. Nothing has been too much trouble. Her smile has returned.

My Mum was in Elmstead for over 5 years. I feel so lucky that she was there. She was SO well looked after. The staff are the kindest and caring anyone could wish for. Everyone from the care manager to the chef were absolutely brilliant. I would like to mention all the staff as during the time my mum
was there I got to know all of them. This home is like 1 big happy family. It's exceptionally clean and very well run. Lots of activities and a lovely garden in the summer. I would have no reason not to recommend Elmstead.

My mother went to the above care home for 1 weeks respite while I had a much-needed break.
The staff were most attentive and caring, nothing was too much trouble and she wanted for nothing. I have nothing but praise for the whole staff and the cleanliness of the building.

My dad moved into Elmstead Care Home in September 2015. He had been in the hospital for some time before having been diagnosed with Dementia and Alzheimer's. When I first looked at Elmstead, it was the warmth and friendliness of the management and staff that attracted me. The rooms, facilities and garden
are lovely. They have regular activities which my dad always enjoys. The food is excellent. My dad has settled in and is always happy and cheerful when I visit. In my opinion, Elmstead is an excellent home, I would recommend it to all.

My daughter and myself had been looking for respite for my husband for numerous weeks without success, then a very helpful social worker gave us two homes to visit. The first one, was the one. The staff were so welcoming, they gave us tea and biscuits and showed us about the home. We both thought this
is the one.
My husband has just come home after two weeks - I look forward for another stay - The downside is the council have cut funding at this home, shame on you social services! for us both working all our lives - where do we go now?
