Freshfields Residential Home is conveniently located in Upminster and is family owned. The majority of experienced staff, including the care manager, has worked for many years providing care with a difference to its residents.   

Freshfields mission is to provide a good standard of care and to respect the resident's dignity and privacy to see people as individuals.   Freshfields believe life in a care home should still be rewarding, enjoyable, sociable and interesting. Strong links with groups in the local community exist and are maintained.

The home is kept clean, well maintained and is suitably furnished. The home prides its self on home cooked traditional meals and greet all visitors with tea and cakes. The home’s chef caters for special diets.

My mother has now been at Freshfields for a year and is very content and settled. She now even refers to it as home. When visiting I am always made to feel very welcome, the staff and management are very friendly and always willing to discuss mum whenever asked. I would recommend Freshfields to others.

The staff at Freshfields are all welcoming, friendly and extremely caring towards my mother. They give me peace of mind as I know my mum is fed, warm and well cared for. They are all pleasant all the time. Thank you.

Mum moved into Freshfields over a year ago within three months mum's health mentally and physically improved greatly.
The staff at Freshfields are excellent they all know her name and where she is when we visit.
Mum loves the dinners and her only complaint is about the pudding. If that is her only
complaint I know I have nothing to worry about.

I find management and staff to be caring, friendly and kind. The staff place pride in all areas, very responsive and attentive to the residents' needs and the relatives. I have total trust and confidence that my mum is being cared for at a high standard. Observed by myself, my brother and friends. I
am satisfied that my mum's needs and any problems have been dealt with swiftly, efficiently and caringly. Freshfields communicate well with myself and vice versa.

My brother, sister and I are certain we'd never have found a home better for our mum. She is happy, always looks (and smells) fresh and smart and says she cannot fault the care she receives daily.
We often arrive unannounced, are always offered refreshments and each member of staff knows where Mum
is, how she is and if there are concerns.
At 95 years old, we all appreciate the fact Mum is enjoying a new chapter of life in a safe and caring environment, amongst new friends.

I cannot find a single fault with the care given to my aunt at Freshfields. She was very happy and content there. Relatives were always welcomed at any time and also looked after.

On entering Freshfields you are greeted with a homely feel; it's not like any other care home I visited. The premises are clean with good quality furniture and spacious rooms. The care staff and management team are excellent. My aunt was treated with care and dignity.
All of her needs were met and
medical issues taken care of. The meals are of a very good standard and snacks and drinks are available to residents and visitors at all times.
There are morning and afternoon activities for residents. The outside space is well kept and it was good to see that the residents make good use of the garden in the summer months.
My aunt was always well dressed and her clothes were spotlessly clean. Freshfields is a very caring and efficiently run residential home.

This is a first class residential home. My mum is treated with dignity and care at all times. The staff and management team are fantastic, always being on hand to speak to.
When visiting Mum we always feel we are entering her home and NOT a care home.
She is treated as an individual, with all her
needs met.
All staff are dedicated and caring, constantly interacting with residents and visitors.
We are always kept informed promptly if there has been any change in Mum's care. Mum has now been a resident for over a year, she loves it.
It is great to have peace of mind that she is well looked after in a caring, clean, secure establishment. When visiting Mum we always feel part of the Freshfield family.

My sister and I were invited to join our Godmother for a lunchtime meal on a Saturday.
We were very warmly welcomed by a member of staff and, as always, offered a tray of coffee/tea with biscuits or cake.
The care home smelt pleasant, is very homely, friendly and all residents we saw seemed well-cared
for and appreciated.
The mealtime was well organised with all residents encouraged to eat and drink and sat on small tables of four where some friendships had obviously been formed.
Our Godmother seems very happy, content and well-cared for by caring, friendly staff. Just what she wanted.

My Aunty has been at Freshfields for 8 months having made her own decision to become a resident. She is very happy there and when we visit we are impressed by the whole atmosphere - the warm welcome by staff, the cleanliness (and the smell - which we think is so important!) and the general feeling that
we get. We were delighted to have been invited to dine with Aunty a few weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

My mother has been confined to her bed mostly since August. She has lived at Freshfields for 12 years. The manager arranged for her to have a special bed and cushion within days of her being in bed. She receives very good care from staff who are kind and caring. She is fed with food prepared by the
kitchen that she is able to digest easily. I can only speak very highly of all that has been put in place to make her comfortable. a truly caring and efficiently run residential home.

I feel that the care and attention offered by all staff at Freshfields is beyond reproach from the most junior staff to the senior management. Could not ask for a more suitable place for my sister in law to be in and I always know that she is being looked after to the best she could be. Well done Freshfields!

My mother was treated with warmth and respect and her dignity, despite failing facilities, was preserved at all times. Our whole family were offered support throughout our stay as we faced the difficulties of placing Mum in good care and then, as her condition deteriorated, we were fully supported in
finding another facility more suited to her physical needs. Freshfield's manager was exceptional but the whole staff were outstanding in their warmth and care to our family and Mum in particular.

We have found the care afforded to residents are of a very high standard, and that the management and staff do everything possible to ensure that the resident's health/safety and general care is top priority.


The accommodation is to a high standard as is the dining facility and meals etc.

The staff at Freshfields are very friendly and helpful, the place is spotless and the food is first class. The activities are good and my mother is really enjoying it there. The rooms are of a good size and are easy to get to. The grounds are very nice and are kept to a high standard.

My dad is in the care home and there seems to be a few activities. He has age related macular degeneration and therefore has impaired vision. There is not music being played for example.

Dad came to Freshfields just over a year ago, it was a hard decision but I can honestly say the management and staff have made the transition so much easier for us. Freshfields is like a lovey warm home, the staff are well trained, professional, approachable and caring. They take pride in the home,
it is kept clean and fresh and so are the residents. Dad is kept stimulated with plenty of activities like movie days, sing along, painting, bowls and much more including outside entertainment. When visiting we are always made welcome and often stay for lunch, the food is all homemade delicious and plentiful and they also cater for individual dietary needs. I can't say enough good things about Freshfields, dad is happy well looked after and content and that means I'm happy.
