Grasmere Rest Home is situated in a quiet residential area of Sutton, within walking distance of the railway station and High Street. The home provide 24-hour care with trained care staff on duty.

Grasmere is tastefully decorated and furnished to create a homely, elegant and comfortable environment. Rooms are single or single with en-suite, fully furnished and equipped with a smoke detector, nurse call system, radiator, TV point and telephone (on request). Residents are encouraged to furnish their rooms with personal items.

The Home has a pleasant lounge and dining room overlooking the garden. The garden has easy access and is well maintained with lawns, plants, trees, flowers and a large patio area.

A personal Care Plan is prepared for each resident and all records and information remains confidential. Comfortable furnishings and well-kept gardens make for a pleasant living environment, with nurse call systems enabling carers to respond to any issues at any time of the day or night. Accommodation is on two floors serviced with a passenger lift. There are 23 single rooms and one double room on the ground floor.

The home is able to provide dental, optician, physiotherapy, hairdressing and chiropody services on request. Residents can be registered with a local General Practitioner of their choice and visits by the GP can be made on request. All medications are supervised by staff and are ordered through a local pharmacist.

Residents are provided activities everyday of the week, which includes Bingo, board games, musicians, magicians, singers, Christmas outings, summer garden parties, jazz evenings, visits to the seaside and summer barbecues.

My brother and I were very pleased to have found Grasmere Rest Home for our mother. All the staff are very friendly and caring towards the residents and their individual needs. My mum was reluctant at first to go but she has certainly settled in well now and takes part in the many activities on offer.
She loves the outings to the garden centre and pub lunches. It’s great to be able to see the regular pictures of the activities on social media. A big thank you to all.

The staff at Grasmere Rest Home are wonderful. They are very caring and have treated my mother amazingly. They are interactive and play games and sing songs. My mother was very happy at Grasmere Rest Home. Thank you all for looking after her.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Grasmere for over 2-years now. She is happy , content and extremely well cared for by all at Grasmere. I cannot speak more highly of the staff there; they work very hard to keep all the residents happy, entertained and safe in this very well kept care home.

would have no reservations in recommending Grasmere to anyone who is looking for a care home for their loved one.

My mother was 100 years old in April. Due to Covid restrictions we were unable to have the family party we would have liked but the manager and staff made the day very special. They were helpful in all the arrangements, decorating her room and the lounge. She had her hair done and looked really beautiful.
The staff helped her open her cards and presents and took photos of the occasion which they forwarded to me.
It is a lovely home and the staff are very friendly. We have had contact with my mother by Zoom and telephone and Pod visits, but we will be glad when we can visit her face to face and hold her hand.

Both my mother and aunt are residing at the care home. For the most part, I am satisfied with their care, however, there have been some instances that have been less than satisfactory, but generally, when these are brought to the attention of the team, they are noted and dealt with promptly and professionally.
I guess nowhere is going to be perfect.

Early this year, during the first months of lockdown my 102-year-old stepmother was very poorly and staff were concerned that she might be at the end of her life. I was very grateful I was, therefore, able to visit with appropriate PPE protection. My stepmother rallied eventually with the enormous support
of staff who did a fantastic job caring for her. It took a long time for her to get back to her old self but the fact that she has done is a tribute to the dedication of the staff and managers. One is also very aware of the personal risks staff have had to live with during the pandemic in order to continue to look after their residents. Our experience and view of Grasmere over the three years our stepmother has been there is they have been incredibly positive. The care has always been excellent and there has been significant investment in the building to provide new or upgraded facilities. Once again thanks to all the staff and managers for all your dedication and expertise.

I would most definitely recommend this wonderful care home, the care my mum has received since she went in the home has been 1st class. This has been a very difficult time as we are unable to see our loved ones, but Grasmere Rest Home arrange Zoom calls and plenty of wonderful fun and interesting activities
to keep them happy end entertained. Thank you all for your wonderful care.

My uncle is well cared for in Grasmere, we are kept informed of his health and well being when we are unable to visit him. The home has succeeded in keeping the residents safe and free from Covid to date for which we are very grateful.

I had to move Mum from another care home, since being at Grasmere Rest Home she has transformed! She's happy and content. Our mother is very well cared for and supported. The environment is clean, light and welcoming. The staff are fabulous. Visiting time are any time, everything is visible re kitchen, office, mum's room etc. We are kept aware of any changes in her condition.
There is a great entertainment programme.
Most importantly the staff turnover seems very low and mum is surrounded by familiar faces. We as a family are very happy she is there!

Broke elbow in December 2017 - 6 weeks in hospital - last 2 for plastic surgery - not mobile enough to return home. 4 weeks in Grasmere Rest Home. Good friendly, lively atmosphere, excellent facilities, only occasional arrangements out of normal timing. Had good body washing - night commode care - help
with dressing, carrying bags, papers etc between rooms as unable to hold. Good time and care for arrangements to hospital check up and to hospital. 4 weeks helped me to settle back home. Lounge and dayrooms just completing a bright and up-to-date refurbishment.

I have been going to Grasmere Rest Home for about 4 years. My dad was a resident before he passed away, now my mum is resident at the home. I have found all staff caring and helpful to both mum and dad and always polite. Always greet me with a smile and ask if I would like a tea or coffee. If there
are any problems they phone and let me know immediately, nearly all residents seem to get on well. I feel lucky to have found Grasmere for mum and dad.

Our Mum has been a resident at Grasmere for nearly 3 years now and we are very pleased with the care and support she receives. Mum can be very difficult with her many medical problems as well as mental issues, and the home looks after her very well and attends to her needs. The atmosphere is very homely,

I started working in the care sector as a temporary care assistant in a nursing home in Ashtead. I fell in love with the work and the residents and remained there for three and a half years. I am a very organised person and value honesty and punctuality. I like to treat everyone the way I would like to be treated. I would like to think that I am making a difference in people’s lives, trying my best to give them the best years of their life, while keeping them safe. Grasmere has such a warm atmosphere that really turns the building into a loving home for all of us.


Southcare Homes Group is more than a business, it is a family that continues to improve. I hope to do this at Grasmere, not just by maintaining our Outstanding CQC rating for ‘Caring’, but also by working to improve the other four key lines of enquiry. I hope I will manage to do that as soon as possible to ensure that we have recognition for the services that we offer.
