As a family, we are so happy and relieved to find the Heathers care home to care for our mother who is in the early stages of dementia, resulting in ill health as she was unable to care for herself at home. All the staff are fantastic, so patient, kind and caring. The food is excellent and very importantly,
each resident is treated accordingly to their individual needs. In the case of our mother, she is allowed to lie in some mornings and spend most of her day in the garden in good weather. Her health has improved remarkably in the 6 weeks she has been a resident.

The home caters for dementia sufferers, mum has no short term memory but she regularly tells me the people here are lovely or very kind, she believes she is on holiday in a hotel. Personally, mum is always immaculate her clothes are co-ordinated she has her hair done and nails, she loves art and one
member of staff took her to an art exhibition, she takes part in lots of activities and is happy safe and well cared for and I have peace of mind. Priceless.

The heathers is a lovely friendly care home where the staff and the owners really do care and nothing is too much trouble.
My mum was taken into respite care in difficult circumstances and with the Heathers friendly but the professional care she has now settled in very well and is able once again to
have some quality of life instead of just existing. I highly rate this home.

I couldn't ask for a better place for my father of 97 years to be. He is given all the love, care and attention he needs. The staff are patient and spend time with him, chatting and making sure he is comfortable. His dietary needs are seen to and he is always dressed smartly and in well laundered clothes.
The staff are consistent and happy. He has been taken to the dentist by one of the staff and calmed down by her gentle touch during the treatment. Themed parties have given him something to watch and be included in. There is NEVER any unpleasant smell in any part of the home.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.578) out of 10 for The Heathers Residential Care Home Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.878 for The Heathers Residential Care Home Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (72 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 82 Ratings = 4.878

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Heathers Residential Care Home Ltd is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 14 registered maximum number of service users is 2.8, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
