Moreland House delivers quality residential and Nursing care for people who appreciate a relaxing and homely environment, alongside a holistic approach to their care needs. The home provides excellent care for people at various stages of need from residential care to nursing and palliative care. Most importantly, there is an absolutely amazing group of staff who understands the complex needs of the elderly.

While being an ideal location for a comfortable retirement, Moreland House also welcomes long and short-term nursing and dementia care needs and works closely with local health services to assess requirements.

All care is tailored to the individual and set up to support personal dignity. Utmost importance is given to the care, comfort, dignity, privacy and independence of the residents.

The care that was given to my mum was excellent. She was treated with respect and dignity. The staff were excellent, including Reception. She had a wonderful 100th birthday at the home. My sister and I were truly grateful to all.

Dad has been here for over two years and considers this his home. He is very happy here and is comforted by the fact that the staff care for him very well and have kindness and compassion. I have peace of mind when I leave him here after I visit most days, I know they look after him very well.

Do your homework very careful before deciding to put your loved one in Moreland House. Within the last year, there has been a change of management and, for us, the care my father received was not what I would call “caring”. My dad died in December. He was extremely unhappy with the level of care and
compassion he received. He used to say to me “I like it when you’re here, they are nicer to me”. Dad was continent but, at times due to short staffing levels, he was told “do it in your pad” because he required two carers to help him to the toilet. One night a member of the night staff came to put him to bed whilst having a chat with somebody on the phone. She never acknowledged him she just started pulling him around whilst continuing her conversation. Dad soon set her straight. Plus points would be the size of the rooms and en suite facilities. Good standard of cleanliness. The final word goes to dad who said they just don’t give two hoots about me. He died 10 minutes later. Shame on you Moreland House.

Moreland House is a very good facility although I'd be able to rate it as excellent due to the poor staffing levels. The standard of the accommodation are great but at times there seems to be fewer staff on hand. My grandmother is bed bound and requires full care and regular monitoring which sometimes
slips.
That said, the aims and intentions of the home are very good and it's a very welcoming place.

Although my mother was in the home for a short time, myself and my two brothers were very happy knowing she was being cared for. The care and kindness shown to her by all of the staff was much appreciated. A warm and friendly atmosphere on every visit.
The evening my mother died, I will never forget
as the nurse and carer were so kind towards me, showing privacy and compassion.

My mother was moved to Moreland House following an awful experience in a local nursing home.
She was welcomed and encouraged to do what little she could independently and when I visited my mother she was clean and happy. She was often in the lounge not just kept in her room. The nurses and carers
were all very kind to her and I would often arrive to find them sitting talking to her especially if she was upset.
I would recommend this nursing home to anyone who wants good care, empathy and compassion. My mother has now come home with a care package, I credit some of this, to the care she received at Moreland House. When my mother needs respite this will be the only nursing home I will send her too.
Also a big thank you to the reception staff who welcome you to the home and are very efficient and helpful. Thank you all for making my mum smile again.

I arrived at the care home as a respite resident. The room allocated was large with excellent light with adequate clothes space and toilet within a wet room. My medical condition at the time included a full plaster cast on my right leg, my weakened physical condition made it impossible to stand unaided.
I was unable to get on or off the toilet. They washed and cleaned me, making me feel welcome at all times with humour which we shared. My relations with nurses, staff and management was excellent from start to finish of my stay.
The food was excellent, tea, drinks available day and night. Entertainment well organised in lounge and garden. As my condition improved and I became fully independent, was discharged from hospital and physio.
I have no hesitation in recommending this care home and it would be my first choice should the need arise.

I have nothing but praise for Moreland House from the care afforded to my mother to the facilities, cleanliness and support of all. Communication regarding my mother's welfare is excellent. I am always informed of any changes or concerns they may have and keep me updated following the regular G.P visits.

I am happy with the care my mother receives, they always react quickly if they see any problems and understand her needs. It is always clean and the staff are pleasant and approachable. Nothing is perfect but overall I find this a good care home and feel my mother is having the care that is needed for
her condition.
