I have been visiting my friend since she came to Mountview at the beginning of 2019. She is very contact here and feels safe. The staff are caring and very kind.
She doesn't always want to eat at mealtimes and staff have been happy to prepare something out of hours.

I feel very safe here and I love my room. I love my food as it's very good. I have my medicine regularly that keeps me well and the staff are good to me and I trust them. We have day and night staff so I am secure. I get on well with the other residents. I have started going out with the staff to the
shops and they help me buy my toiletries. I do my washing and drying here and the staff help me with my needs.

My brother is being cared for like a family member. All his needs are catered for but unfortunately, he has now been assessed for full nursing care, so has to move to a nursing home.
I shall be very sad the day he leaves as the staff have become like friends.
They always contact me if any problems
day or night.
Wonderful people and delightful home from home.

My sister has been a resident here for nearly two years. She is happy here, likes the staff and enjoys her meals. She cannot cope on her own and this home has given her the care that she needs. The home is clean and well cared for, the staff are caring, which is what she needs.

My husband has recently had two respite stays at Mountview, for a week in June and a weekend in July. I have only the highest praise for the way in which the staff managed my husband and for the level of care provided. Everyone was fully aware of his individual needs and challenges and tailored his
care to meet these. During the course of the last year a number of homes have refused to accept my husband because of his challenging behaviour, however Mountview staff have met these needs and I have felt reassured by their excellent service.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.493)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.493) out of 10 for Mountview Recovery Unit is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.593 for Mountview Recovery Unit is calculated as follows: ( (69 Excellents x 5) + (34 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.593

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mountview Recovery Unit is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 10 registered maximum number of service users is 2, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Manager

I joined MD Homes in October 2020 as the Home Manager of Mountview Care Home and Eastbury Nursing Home.

I have over 20 years of valuable experience in the NHS and for the past 4 years, I have worked in a social care setting. This coupled with my background in information technology helped me achieve excellent knowledge of care standards and health and safety legislation. I am able to effectively lead, train, supervise and motivate our team.

My main focus is on providing person-centred care and understanding exactly how each individual would like to be treated. I am committed to leading both homes to provide very specialist care in the right environment for people of age 40 and above with mental health, learning disabilities, physical disability and dementia. I love my job because I get to support individuals in being as independent as they possibly can be.
