Riverview Lodge, in the Kingsbury area of London, is well-equipped to achieve excellent residential and residential dementia care for 36 residents in en suite accommodation. The home is located next to a church and has a lovely view overlooking a stream from the well tended garden.

The home prides itself on providing a homely, safe environment and ensures residents and their families are at the centre of everything as are its core values of dignity and respect.

The interior has been purpose-built to suit the challenges of both residents and carers, with quality furnishings and communal areas to contribute to a pleasant social atmosphere.

My mother was a resident of Riverview Lodge for eight years until she died in July.
She wasn't the easiest of people but the carers were very patient with her and looked after her lovingly.
She always said that it was as near to being in her own home as she could get and especially liked the home-cooked
food.
Whilst the family and staff tried to encourage her to join in activities she preferred to stay in her room but the carers checked up on her regularly to check that she was alright.
Her passing was very peaceful and the staff were with her until a family member could arrive.
In the years she was there we got to know some of the staff really well as there is a low turnover which I feel shows how the MHA look after their staff as well as the residents.

My beloved mum was a resident of Riverview Lodge for just over seven years. All the staff and carers treated her with respect and love. She kept her dignity. Everyone gave her the best care she could have been given and I am so grateful for that. All were very attentive to her and although I visited
mum regularly, they kept in regular touch with me by phone. I couldn't have asked for better care. My heartfelt thanks to all at Riverview Lodge which will always have a special place in my heart.

Riverview Care Home is one of the best I have seen so far. The staff are professional in how they look after the residents yet friendly at the same time. Having worked as a nurse and a social worker from my observation the residents are cared for well and are treated with respect and dignity. I would
not hesitate in recommending Riverview Care Home to anyone who wishes to send their loved ones there. Thank you all for the care you do for my mum.

Our mother spent just three weeks of respite here at the Riverview Lodge from the end of August-September 2021. She settled very quickly and the staff made every effort to make her feel at home. My brother and I were very touched by the kindness and care given to our mother who has progressive dementia.
The staff and the carers were helpful, supportive, very understanding and accommodating - the atmosphere in the home is happy and cheerful, and calm and peaceful when needed. The care was everything we hoped for and also made us feel very welcome, and our mother has returned home a different person, her confidence and self-esteem has been boosted by her short stay. Thank you.

Our mum has been in Riverview Lodge since June 2019 and she thinks the Lodge is her home now. She appears to be settled nicely. She has a lovely room overlooking the garden and is always kept clean. Staff are friendly, welcoming and usually available to discuss any issues I may have in regards to mum’s
health or needs. Mum was admitted to the hospital during the pandemic and we had very limited contact. When mum was released from the hospital we had no idea of mum conditioned. She was not being able to speak, hold a cup of water and feed herself. She came out of the hospital with bedsores. The senior care assistant and the manager were brilliant. The manager and senior care assistance took control of the situation; co-ordinate with the GP, arranging for a suitable bed as she is bedridden. Through the care and compassion, the manager, senior care assistant and the team has provided to mum. She is now able to feed herself and is content and cheerful. The team is our extended family.

Our father was cared for at Riverview Lodge for 2 years until his passing in June of this year. From the very beginning, the staff were warm, welcoming and reassuring. He was always clean, well dressed and fed, and was cared for with compassion and respect. The personal challenges associated with dementia
and the loss of independence were hard for our father, but those challenges were always met with empathy and understanding.
The team at Riverview are brilliant and remained largely unchanged during our father’s time there. This meant he was cared for by people who knew him well and he knew them. The immense challenges posed by the pandemic were met with courage and resilience from the staff who never wavered in their love and compassion for those they care for - the result of their skill and strength as individuals and as a team. During his last days, they found a way for us to be with him that was also safe for the home, which we are eternally grateful for, as was he.

My grandmother was a resident of the Riverview Lodge for several years until she passed in 2020.
The staff were an extension of her family, and she held them in high regard. Although my grandmother had dementia, I believe that she felt safe, cared for and listened to. Every time we visited, she was
well dressed and was well-groomed as she always took great pride in her appearance, this would have been very important to her. The premises are neat and tidy, and the staff often had events for the residents to keep them entertained and engaged.
My family are grateful to the manager and her lovely team for everything they did to keep my grandmother comfortable in the last few years of her life.

My mum has been a resident in Riverview Lodge for a few years now. It was her 92nd birthday last Saturday and the staff were lovely, enabling her to come out and see us whilst socially distancing. They sang Happy Birthday and had put up banners and balloons for her. Other family members visited later
in the day and the staff were great again.

The time came when home visits were no longer viable and Mum needed to move from the home she had lived in for 50 years. The stress of this major upheaval was well contained by the staff of Riverview Lodge who dispelled the anxieties we all felt. She was soon sitting in the lounge on a daily basis enjoying
the company of other residents besides participating in the activities provided. I visited her every week and at each visit left feeling reassured she was in good hands, until her passing recently. So a big thank you from all her family to the staff at Riverview.

My Grandfather attended Riverview Lodge care home for respite care. The whole team were wonderful, attentive and supportive.
They worked well with my grandfather and the family to support his independence and mobility.
The management team kept the family up to date on a daily basis about my grandfather's
well-being.
When we visited him he was always happy with his treatment.

Dad enjoyed his time at Riverview Lodge. We visited him every day and found the staff to be very helpful. They got to know Dad quickly and he was encouraged to join in activities. Riverview is a gem of a home and we will definitely book Dad in again for respite care.

I chose Riverview Lodge residential care home for my father for a few weeks stay following hospital admission. The staff were very attentive, and he was well cared for with compassion, dignity and respect. The facilities in this well maintained homely environment were comfortable, and the food looked
good and nutritious.
As a health professional myself, I appreciated meaningful communication and interaction with the managers and other staff at Riverview Lodge in relation to my father's wellbeing. In addition, the relaxed but significant ethos of MHA was pleasant, and resonated with his personal Christian belief. There were also a number of activities each week for residents to enjoy and participate in as they wished. I would recommend this care home as it demonstrates a very good standard for service users.

It gives me genuine pleasure to be able to submit an unqualified review of excellence for the wonderful level of care shown to my dear Mother at Riverview Lodge during the last 3 years of her life. From the very first day through to my Mother's peaceful passing, I have been so grateful for the sincere
care and attention paid to my Mother by all the staff - and I'm equally appreciative of the support and patience shown to my wife and I as relatives, unaccustomed to dealing with this terrible disease. Most importantly, Mum herself always acknowledged how happy she was to be there - one of her last comments to me was 'They're very good people here'.
'Very good people' is an understatement - we owe a debt of gratitude to the team at MHA.

All the staff were amazing and made my dad's last months comfortable and happy. He was so well cared for and Dad, though he could no longer be out of bed or feed himself due to his condition, was always content and calm. The care provided was excellent in every respect and staff so friendly and caring
whenever I visited. The home is immaculately clean and decoration cheerful and bright. The other residents always seemed happy and there was always a lovely atmosphere with music being played. Dad being there gave me and my family so much comfort to know he was safe and being cared for.

My Dad was a resident at Riverview Lodge care home from December 2016 to December 2017. Sadly he passed away in January of this year. He received wonderful dedicated care from all the staff. Today I returned to visit a resident who was celebrating her 100th birthday. There was a big party for her with
relatives, friends and residents all involved. The lounge was all decorated with streamers and balloons and the choice of food was wonderful. The staff all made sure it was a day to remember.

My husband always stays in a different care home whenever I travel and usually when I call him each day I have to prepare myself for him being dissatisfied or perhaps upset for some reason or other. This time at Riverview Lodge, it didn't happen (except for him being dissatisfied about the lumpy and
cold mattress). Every time I called he was as happy and cheerful as he is at home. And each time he was concerned about something and I called the staff to tell them (he doesn't communicate well for himself), the staff jumped on the issue immediately and by the next time I would speak to him, he was happy again. It was such a relief for me! For both of us! I would definitely tell people to stay there except I want to make sure there's a bed for him the next time I need to travel. Thanks to everyone at Riverview Lodge. They all knew him and they all knew how to take care of him no matter who I spoke to.

My Uncle was a resident at Riverview Lodge for just over 2 years until his passing this week.
I am so pleased he spent his final years here. He said many times he could not be in a more caring and happy environment. When he first arrived he was in poor health and very weak but after a couple of months
of wonderful care, he was healthier and stronger than he had been for many years.
The care and love the staff showed towards him was second to none and it amazed us how special he was made to feel.
We cannot praise the staff enough from the manager and all the other nursing staff and carers and cleaning staff who gave my Uncle such a happy last couple of years of his life. All the staff looked after him so well and it makes me so happy to know that his every need was attended to.

Staff are extremely caring and welcoming not just to the residents but to the family and friends too. It was my great grandmother’s 100th birthday last month and they went all out to make it as special as possible and I have not seen my great Nan smile so much and we all had a wonderful time. All of
the staff are fabulous and we know we can leave the home knowing that my great-grandmother will be looked after and will be treated well.

My mum who has dementia has been at Riverview for about nine months and has been very well cared for, with my dad able to visit every day and attend music therapy with her. We were recently able to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with all the family in the reminiscence room which we are very
appreciative of being able to do this, it certainly meant a lot to us all especially my dad.
The staff are all very friendly and patient, I have full confidence that my mum is receiving the best level of care. The home itself is lovely, my mum's room is perfect for her needs and everything is very well kept.
