My mum sadly died December 2020, she had been there for a long time and did enjoy walking around taking part in social events. She celebrated her 90th birthday there. The carers that looked after her were fab and I would like to say special thanks to all the staff. I can’t remember all the carers names
that looked after Mum but a massive thanks to one particular member of staff for making Mum smile and laugh and spending some time with Mum during her final days. It meant the world. You have such great management with fantastic skills. The carers who came to look after Mum after she passed, thankyou. I could tell how much Mum meant to you, especially for those that had worked there a long time. I will remember the fun and laughter I enjoyed being there at parties, singing and dancing, bazaars and fetes, Alzheimer’s walk.

Premises are always clean and well maintained. The rooms are modern and well furnished. The care staff are always friendly and caring towards the residents. The office are professional and efficient. The overall manager of the home is extremely helpful, caring and clearly builds good relationships with
residents and their relatives.

My wife went into Ridgeway Lodge in the spring of 2015. Before that, she was in a hospital for assessment of her Dementia.
She was sectioned for her violence towards me and her sister. She used to be a lovely caring person.
She now thinks The Lodge is her home. She still knows me as her husband after
all these years. She gets on well with the staff. She had a setback a water infection. She has lost her appetite for food. The staff have been brilliant in understanding her problems. She is improving slowly. Thank you.

When the care home my mother was living in closed their doors to dementia guests, I was completely devastated. My sister and I had to look for somewhere else and eventually found Ridgeway Lodge. From the moment she stepped in the door, I knew we had made the right decision. The staff welcomed her literally
with open arms and have done so since. The layout works for mum and she has become much more outgoing and stimulated. She loves the entertainment and ‘games’!
I don’t think we would ever have found a better place for her if we had carried on looking.

I came to the home today at 2.40 this morning and I honestly say two of the staff are a credit to HC-One.
They were calm, friendly, chatting to my dad, changed him then came back later to turn him. (Reposition him in bed) I was so happy to see how they worked together.
The way they were with my dad
as when I got there he was aware, chatting away.
Please pass on my gratitude to them both for doing a fantastic job. Thank you all staff and all the team.

My husband is at Ridgeway Lodge for respite at the moment. It has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere whenever you go there.
All the staff are very friendly and caring and always find time to speak to visitors as well as residents.

The staff are all good but there are some exceptional staff I would have liked to have named them to show the appreciation of my mum and all the family. It is an exceptional care home. My stepdad is treated very well with dignity and compassion.

Although Ridgeway Lodge is not the most luxurious home and may not have the best facilities, the most important feature is the staff.


They appear to have a genuine concern for the residents and that is the singular most important feature in any care home.

I do find the manager very good and will listen and put right any of your concerns. I find the carers and team leaders work hard and do a good job looking after residents. I did have a few issues which have been resolved. Well done Ridgeway Lodge.

Ridgeway staff have been tremendous in supporting my 95-year-old mother who is suffering from advanced dementia. She has received care second to none, has a nice room, and a lovely meal and restrooms. I would heartily recommend this home.

I was fortunate to have this home recommended to me by the husband of a resident. I was instantly impressed by the kindness and professionalism of staff. 18 months on and the home has been taken over by HC-One, who have built on existing strengths, sorted problems and generally improved the experience
of residents. My mother has told me that she now feels at home. Her physical and emotional health have improved, she is encouraged to join activities and food is excellent.

After visiting several other homes with similar facilities in our area, my sister and I chose Ridgeway Lodge because we felt that in all respects it would provide everything our mum would need to be happy, safe and well cared for. Mums room looks as much like home as is possible under the circumstances.
The arrangement of the private rooms and lounges form a square and thus create the perfect way for those with dementia to walk around and always end up at their own 'front door'. The dining rooms have a 'cafe' feel to them. The management and staff, from carers to cleaners and laundry are friendly and kind. Brilliant! I cannot fault them. The food looks and smells delicious. Nothing is too much trouble for the team, upstairs and downstairs. Plenty of organised activities since mum's arrival in November 2017, ballroom dancers, ukulele band, singing, visits from a nursery school and a talent show to name a few! Thank you very much.

Michele

Michele Tricker

Job Title: Home Manager

Michele is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents. She closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident.


Michele extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Michele remarked: “Seeing our Residents have a good quality of life is really important to me”.


Michele has also achieved much outside of work, with her proudest achievement being her four children who all work in the care sector as nurses or paramedics.


Outside of work, Michele enjoys looking after her four cats and relaxing with a cup of coffee and a book.
