Welcome to Pinehurst Care Centre in Berkshire. Situated in the leafy village of Crowthorne, the well-maintained facility offers 24-hour care for people over the age of 65, and in particular those living with Dementia. They are blessed with a long-serving team of support staff that provide high-quality, person-centred care within a homely environment. They offer short-term and long-term, respite and post-operative care.

Pinehurst comprises 47 en-suite bedrooms, split across 3 houses. They encourage residents to furnish their new surroundings with familiar pieces of furniture and personal possessions to make them feel truly at home. While bedrooms provide a tranquil area to rest and relax, the bright and attractive lounge areas offer residents the opportunity to catch up with friends over a pot of tea, enjoy one of the home's guest entertainers or simply recline in front of their favourite films.

At Pinehurst, they encourage residents to take part in a range of engaging activities based on their lifestyle needs and preferences. Many of their activities take place within the home environment and include garden parties, barbecues, arts/crafts and quiz nights. They empower individuals to enjoy those everyday routines they cherish, whether that’s having a salon blow-dry and manicure or keeping up to date with their favourite football team. All are encouraged and available. Residents enjoy the wider community, with a thriving high street and local amenities all within a short distance.

My grandmother lived at Pinehurst for nearly 3 years. During this time she was very well cared for. The staff really got to know her, they knew when she was unwell and took appropriate action. As a nurse I am very particular about how my nan was cared for. The staff were always caring, compassionate
and patient. If there was any sort of problem, they would call to let me know.

Pinehurst Care Centre continue to provide excellent care for my mother. During her recent illness they were attentive and worked extremely hard to persuade her to eat and coax her to get out of bed. They provided a special bed to avoid bed sores. She is well on the way to recovery thanks to the staff
efforts. Mum loves it at Pinehurst, something we could not envisage when she went there two years ago. The atmosphere is relaxed and all staff very pleasant.

The centre was selected by my sister although I am very impressed with the facilities and the caring atmosphere that is created. Mum has settled very well indeed and the anticipated settling-in issues do not appear to have been a significant issue. The care team are very welcoming and everything appears
to be carried out in a very calm manner. The communal areas are well used by all so isolation does not seem to be a problem. Congratulations to the team on creating a homely environment and thank you for all the care and support to Mum.

My wife has been cared for in Pinehurst for the last 8 months following a diagnosis of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. The overall level of care and of the quality of care has been truly exemplary. The staff tend to the residents as if they were their own Mum, Thank you so much.

Mum has been a resident for the past ten months. She settled in very quickly due to the attention and cheerfulness of the staff. Any apprehension that I had also quickly dispersed. She loves her room, eats well and joins in with the activities. She is constantly but discreetly observed, and her health
is monitored. All the staff, from the manager and carers to catering, cleaning and maintenance, are always cheerful and efficient and interact with the residents. I am very happy with Pinehurst, and more to the point, so is Mum.

Staff are all so lovely and there is a family feel - we were fortunate to stay for a resident meeting in which they discussed food, so many options/choices.

The manager was amazing with my friend who has dementia. She made him feel secure about the change and going into a home. We visited yesterday and felt it was very homely with a lovely atmosphere, and was made to feel very welcome.

My mother was a resident at Pinehurst Care Centre, Crowthorne for 5.5 years. During her time there she enjoyed life to the full. She entered into the regular activities arranged for the residents and over the years went on outings to local sites and had meals out. She was very well cared for by the
caring staff. She died peacefully in her sleep last month, aged 99.5 years. I was called to her bedside and was able to be with her in her last moments. I could not have wished for a better place for her end. Everyone was so kind, respectful and professional. I thank them all.

Job Title: Centre Manager

My care background started in 1986 after I had my children. I worked in a large nursing home as a Senior Carer working nights. NVQ 1 was introduced I started studying to further my knowledge. In 1991 I moved out to Berkshire and worked at a local care home for twelve years where I continued to progress my education completing NVQ 2,3,4 and my R.M. Award. After this, I was given the opportunity to work at a specialist Dementia care home as their Centre Manager in a turnaround role. I did this for two and a half years before joining the Pinehurst Care Centre in 2009 where I have had the most wonderful journey and met some incredible people along the way.

I have worked at Pinehurst since 2014 after I had my children. I was looking for a part-time job that fitted in with my life. Little did I realise that Pinehurst would become such a huge part of my life. Every resident becomes part of our family. I love getting to know everyone and to help them realise that life in a care home can be fun and exciting and that there are still many things they can learn and new experiences they can have. One of my favourite moments was when one of our residents who was 103 at the time was having her hair done by our hairdresser and I had organised for an Alpaca to visit the home. She turned to me and said, "Well that is a first, I have never seen an Alpaca walk into a hairdressers!"


Nothing here is too much trouble and we love learning new hobbies and adding more ideas to our schedule. We enjoy regular Zumba and Pilates sessions, we have a range of entertainers, we love animal therapy, reflexology and also enjoy arts and crafts. We have a lovely garden for anyone with green fingers, or a pub in the garden with a TV to catch up on sporting events.
