Welcome to Pinehurst Care Centre in Berkshire. Situated in the leafy village of Crowthorne, the well-maintained facility offers 24-hour care for people over the age of 65, and in particular those living with Dementia. They are blessed with a long-serving team of support staff that provide high-quality, person-centred care within a homely environment. They offer short-term and long-term, respite and post-operative care.

Pinehurst comprises 47 en-suite bedrooms, split across 3 houses. They encourage residents to furnish their new surroundings with familiar pieces of furniture and personal possessions to make them feel truly at home. While bedrooms provide a tranquil area to rest and relax, the bright and attractive lounge areas offer residents the opportunity to catch up with friends over a pot of tea, enjoy one of the home's guest entertainers or simply recline in front of their favourite films.

At Pinehurst, they encourage residents to take part in a range of engaging activities based on their lifestyle needs and preferences. Many of their activities take place within the home environment and include garden parties, barbecues, arts/crafts and quiz nights. They empower individuals to enjoy those everyday routines they cherish, whether that’s having a salon blow-dry and manicure or keeping up to date with their favourite football team. All are encouraged and available. Residents enjoy the wider community, with a thriving high street and local amenities all within a short distance.

My dad spent his last two years at Pinehurst and was very well looked after and cared for. The staff are extremely kind and caring towards the residents and their extended family. During my dad's last hours, the staff were extremely supportive of us. Cannot speak highly enough of all the staff and the
management team. The home is homely and always immaculately clean and tidy.

I came here temporarily for personal reasons to be near my husband who lives close by. I had fractured my knee.
I found the staff to be very caring to some difficult people at meal times, attention was paid that all were eating. The kitchen sparkled, very clean.
The toilets/wet room were always very
clean. I would certainly come again.

My mum has been a resident at Pinehurst Care Center for nearly two years and we are very happy with the home. Despite the staffing challenges for the care industry Pinehurst has maintained a fantastic team of people with long service, who know the resident's habits and needs enabling them to provide
the best of care. There is always an activity going on and they provide excellent updates for family and friends via a private social media site. As my mum's needs have changed their care has moved with her, always ensuring she is treated correctly in a kind, caring and professional way.

My mother was a resident for nearly four years, the compassion and guidance during her one year end of life situation was of great help and comfort to me. Therefore, when in a similar situation with my beloved husband, there was only one choice for me. Pinehurst Care Centre is so well managed, the carers
are passionate about the people in their care, giving superb care and support and treating people with dignity. They take pride in their work and there is a happy atmosphere. During my husband's three weeks in hospital he did not receive a body wash, at Pinehurst he is cleaned after every 'motion' and body washed at least once daily.

My father-in-law has been in Pinehurst Care Centre since December 2022. He loves being with others in this facility and participates in all activities every day. While he lived at home he wouldn't do anything other than watch TV or play on his iPad.
He is very happy and the staff do a wonderful job
in caring for him. I can't rate this care home enough, they have helped by making his life a happy one.

My mum arrived confused and unable to walk. This was after leaving another care home in the area. Her mood was very low and frightened and also unable to talk. Now she's in Pinehurst she's clean, talking and even laughing. Staff have so much care and really kind. The support they give is remarkable
and always with a smile. They give 100%.

My mother went to Pinehurst Care Centre almost two years ago. The Care home is well run and the staff really care about the elderly residents. Sadly she died this week and the Management team kept me fully informed of her progress until her last days. They were thoughtful and caring. Mum loved being
there. She loved the music and the songs she sang with the Carer’s. The Carer’s always stopped for a chat and a song with Mum. Every time I saw her she told me that she was very happy. I can truly say that I am so pleased that she spent her last years in comfort and contentment. Thank you to all the staff at Pinehurst.

When you place your loved one in a care home you need to be assured that they will be looked after and given all the attention and kindness they need.
This is what I am happy to say my loved one receives.

My father was not happy when we first put him in a home due to dementia and was quite aggressive towards the staff, however, after a very short time, he settled in and is very happy. He even said he loves it there and looks so well compared to when living independently and is no longer lonely. Great
activities, especially the sing-along!

Mum has been in Pinehurst for two years now and is very settled. The staff take great care of her and try to cater for all her needs - she has Parkinson's and is very dependent on help with most everyday tasks. They offer entertainment to keep the residents stimulated, although no one is forced to take
part! The home is very clean and the staff caring. I know that Mum is safe living in Pinehurst, which was always a major worry when she was living alone.

Mum stayed for a respite week. She had the loveliest of welcomes to settle her apprehensions on arrival.
Thanks to the incredible sensitivity and encouragement of all staff she greatly benefited from the social environment.
Nothing was too much trouble and the atmosphere was warm and homely. Perfect.

Although Mum has only been at Pinehurst Care Centre for a short time, we are immensely grateful and extremely impressed with the quality of care the team has provided.
Their kindness and thoughtfulness have been outstanding and nothing is too much trouble. They have quickly understood Mum's specific
needs and go out of their way to offer her reassurance and a comforting hug.
They have also provided much-needed emotional support and practical advice to us, her family, so that we are better able to help Mum settle in.

My husband found it difficult when admitted, but now agrees he is in the best place for him. The staff had their work cut out over quite a few months, but due to their hard work, we can now visit without it ending in tears. The staff are lovely, so friendly with a constant smile on their faces.

My 88 year old mother has been a resident for nearly 18 months, after being unable to look after herself satisfactorily and was moved in during Covid restrictions. Pinehurst Care Centre were extremely accommodating and helped her settle in, putting a TV up on the wall along with pictures and a custom
built bookshelf to make it more homely. They also provided medical care, regular assistance with bathing and a gluten free diet plan for her - all of which she was struggling to do for herself. Mum can be quite stubborn, but the manager has worked her magic and got her participating in some of the great range of activities that take place. She particularly enjoys the art club and going outside in the garden. The manager and the team are wonderful and clearly experienced not only in the care of the residents but also in that of the family. We have been so pleased with our choice of care home and have no hesitation in recommending Pinehurst as a small and personable care home.

My husband recently spent three weeks in respite care at Pinehurst Care Centre. He was provided with a clean, comfortable, well-equipped room, and the food was plentiful and enjoyable. I was pleased to see that medication was carefully administered and recorded. All staff were very friendly and helpful,
and it was obvious to me that Pinehurst is very efficiently managed. Knowing that my husband would be happy to spend more time there in the future is very reassuring to me and to the rest of our family.

My 98-year-old mother has been living at Pinehurst Care Centre for the past 4 years.
Although naturally frailer than she was when she arrived. She has benefited from the security that being at Pinehurst offers, from the company of others and the liveliness of the activities team who enhance the lives
of the residents who are encouraged to take part in crafts and music sessions. There are regular opportunities to visit local schools to watch their plays and, in turn, school children will visit Pinehurst, as do tame animals. So much is done to simulate and brighten the lives of the residents. Everyone is treated with respect and there is a family atmosphere about the place. Everyone is invited to take part but no one is forced into anything and if a resident prefers to sit quietly in the lounge or their own room, they can. During the time they are there, as the manageress says, it is understood by everyone that Pinehurst is their home. Visitors are welcome and the staff are always polite and helpful.

My care background started in 1986 after I had my children. I worked in a large nursing home as a Senior Carer working nights. NVQ 1 was introduced I started studying to further my knowledge. In 1991 I moved out to Berkshire and worked at a local care home for twelve years where I continued to progress my education completing NVQ 2,3,4 and my R.M. Award. After this, I was given the opportunity to work at a specialist Dementia care home as their Centre Manager in a turnaround role. I did this for two and a half years before joining the Pinehurst Care Centre in 2009 where I have had the most wonderful journey and met some incredible people along the way.

I have worked at Pinehurst since 2014 after I had my children. I was looking for a part-time job that fitted in with my life. Little did I realise that Pinehurst would become such a huge part of my life. Every resident becomes part of our family. I love getting to know everyone and to help them realise that life in a care home can be fun and exciting and that there are still many things they can learn and new experiences they can have. One of my favourite moments was when one of our residents who was 103 at the time was having her hair done by our hairdresser and I had organised for an Alpaca to visit the home. She turned to me and said, "Well that is a first, I have never seen an Alpaca walk into a hairdressers!"


Nothing here is too much trouble and we love learning new hobbies and adding more ideas to our schedule. We enjoy regular Zumba and Pilates sessions, we have a range of entertainers, we love animal therapy, reflexology and also enjoy arts and crafts. We have a lovely garden for anyone with green fingers, or a pub in the garden with a TV to catch up on sporting events.
