Welcome to Pinehurst Care Centre in Berkshire. Situated in the leafy village of Crowthorne, the well-maintained facility offers 24-hour care for people over the age of 65, and in particular those living with Dementia. They are blessed with a long-serving team of support staff that provide high-quality, person-centred care within a homely environment. They offer short-term and long-term, respite and post-operative care.

Pinehurst comprises 47 en-suite bedrooms, split across 3 houses. They encourage residents to furnish their new surroundings with familiar pieces of furniture and personal possessions to make them feel truly at home. While bedrooms provide a tranquil area to rest and relax, the bright and attractive lounge areas offer residents the opportunity to catch up with friends over a pot of tea, enjoy one of the home's guest entertainers or simply recline in front of their favourite films.

At Pinehurst, they encourage residents to take part in a range of engaging activities based on their lifestyle needs and preferences. Many of their activities take place within the home environment and include garden parties, barbecues, arts/crafts and quiz nights. The care home is efficiently managed, the staff are very kind and there is a low staff turnover. The care has been described by a care provider as ”we do our best”, my family all think this is true and is a fair and largely satisfactory summary.

My brother moved into Pinehurst Crowthorne in September from Hospital having suffered two major strokes. Finding a care home was very stressful, but my contact with the home has been excellent from initial discussion with the centre manager, his welcome into the home and with all of my communication
and visits since. The home has a real 'family feel' about it and every member of staff I have met show care with and compassion and with good humour to my brother and always have the time to talk to me and other visitors. I have been particularly impressed with how they have encouraged his ongoing rehabilitation with activities, therapy and encouragement. I particularly like the 'closed user' Facebook which allows me, friends and family, to see how well he is doing. I have seen a huge change in him since he arrived and they continue to find new ways to maintain his progress. I am confident that he will continue to make progress and am very grateful for everything they are doing.

When I've called to see my mother the staff have always been friendly and helpful, they always make us feel very welcome and respected.
The care of my mother has been good and they always treat her respectfully with dignity and thoughtfulness.
When we've been in her room with her and we have heard
the interaction between the staff and other residents it has always been Respectful, thoughtful and caring even in difficult situations when the resident has not been co-operative.
The staff know my mother well and give the impression they like her and she responds likewise, lots of smiles.
They are aware of her physical & mental health needs and treat them appropriately.

Moving Mum into a care home was such a difficult decision, but we are delighted that we chose Pinehurst.


Mum had had a number of falls and since being at Pinehurst hasn't fallen once.


She took about 3 months to settle in and no longer asks when she is going home (had to be sold anyway). She

has improved in herself, with the interaction and the activities that they provide.


No matter what time you visit, I have never ever heard any member of staff raise their voice once! They all seem to have the patience of a saint and are so kind and caring.


Meals are varied and nicely served.


Absolutely delighted we chose Pinehurst and they had a room. We are all less stressed and worried about her, now that she is so safe and happy there.

In summary, I would like to say how pleased the family is that Mum is somewhere where we know she is safe and being well looked after. We know from experience that the staff will keep us informed (by telephone if they consider it urgent) of any issues relating to Mum's care. We are always made welcome
whenever we visit the home to see Mum and we do not usually say when we are coming and things are always clean and well maintained. We would certainly recommend Pinehurst at Crowthorne to anyone who was considering a care home for a relative or friend.

My auntie was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Dementia four years ago. Since then she has lived with care and support at her home in Surrey. It became clear that she needed 24 hour care. She had sustained a fall and had been in hospital. I have received very positive reports on Pinehurst from families who

my sister and I visited to specifically to speak to those running the home with regard to mothers care. The staff were knowledgable and very friendly, they showed a good understanding of mum and clearly cared for her. We were welcomed and our thoughts and views were clearly listened to, it was reassuring

This home is the one I would choose for myself or my partner, friendly, caring and kind staff, lovely decor, tasty ample varied food, plenty of tea and activities. Mum really enjoys. the home has a family atmosphere we found in none of the other homes we visited. The home is kept immaculately clean
and there is never an offensive odour. Care plans and communication with the family cannot be faulted. I am so glad we chose this home!

What a fantastic Care Home in every sense of the word Care and Home. Pinehurst has taken excellent care of my Dad who has dementia. Every member of the Pinehust team is Caring and dedicated and could not have done more to support my Dad who has multiple needs now. He has been treated with kindness and
respect and whilst it is not 'Home', every member of the team does their best to make it as close to it as is possible. I would not hesitate to recommend Pinehurst on every level and can only offer huge thanks to every member of the team.

Mum has been at Pinehurst for almost five years and is still happy and content. She always enjoys taking part in musical activities and animal visits.
Management and Staff are very approachable, open and very welcoming, very patient and obviously enjoy caring for the residents, understanding their
various needs.
Visiting is encouraged at any time of the day, and tea and biscuits are always available.
The home provides a clean, happy 'home from home' environment.

My husband has dementia and unfortunately I was taken ill and had to go to stay for a few days in hospital. Pinehurst fortunately had a vacant room. My husband stayed in this wonderful home last year for one week. This last visit was again excellent, my husband was so well looked after. When I collected
him today, there was no sign of any distress, my husband was very calm, reading a newspaper and enjoying a cup of tea. Well done Pinehurst, the staff are wonderful,k extremely kind and very professional.

We are so happy Mum is in Pinehurst. The staff are wonderful, amazingly patient, kind, and calm. And it is clear they really enjoy caring for their residents. The management are friendly, open and approachable. There is a lot of happy laughter from staff, and giggles from residents. The buildings are
beautifully decorated inside, bright, smart, up to date, but still homelike. There are always teddy bears to cuddle, kept on the mantelpiece.


Pinehurst is an amalgam of several buildings, so it does not feel or look institutional. There are gardens and decks at the back where the residents are encouraged to help care for plants and bird feeders. And there are lots of daily events like parties, pet visits, crafts, exercises and birthdays, that the residents partake in, as well as outings to local sites or short walks in Crowthorne.


As visiting family everything was open to us. And whenever we popped in at tea time we were happily included by the staff, and plied with teas and cakes, along with the residents. You can even stay and have a meal at mealtime if you wish. The residents in the full care building, where my mother in law is, are kept spotlessly clean and neat and in bright cheery clothing, Great effort is spent on keeping them well groomed. We once popped in on the weekly hairdressing - perms etc., to find the residents and staff happily gathered round the hairdressers' clients, all having a fun time. What more can I say - its great, and Mum is happy.

My care background started in 1986 after I had my children. I worked in a large nursing home as a Senior Carer working nights. NVQ 1 was introduced I started studying to further my knowledge. In 1991 I moved out to Berkshire and worked at a local care home for twelve years where I continued to progress my education completing NVQ 2,3,4 and my R.M. Award. After this, I was given the opportunity to work at a specialist Dementia care home as their Centre Manager in a turnaround role. I did this for two and a half years before joining the Pinehurst Care Centre in 2009 where I have had the most wonderful journey and met some incredible people along the way.

I have worked at Pinehurst since 2014 after I had my children. I was looking for a part-time job that fitted in with my life. Little did I realise that Pinehurst would become such a huge part of my life. Every resident becomes part of our family. I love getting to know everyone and to help them realise that life in a care home can be fun and exciting and that there are still many things they can learn and new experiences they can have. One of my favourite moments was when one of our residents who was 103 at the time was having her hair done by our hairdresser and I had organised for an Alpaca to visit the home. She turned to me and said, "Well that is a first, I have never seen an Alpaca walk into a hairdressers!"


Nothing here is too much trouble and we love learning new hobbies and adding more ideas to our schedule. We enjoy regular Zumba and Pilates sessions, we have a range of entertainers, we love animal therapy, reflexology and also enjoy arts and crafts. We have a lovely garden for anyone with green fingers, or a pub in the garden with a TV to catch up on sporting events.
