Clara Court is a welcoming 'outstanding'-rated care home (March 2019) where a passionate and highly trained team provides quality residential, dementia and respite care for older people.

The purpose-built home has its own hair salon, café and a vintage-themed lounge, plus other shared lounges and activity spaces.

Our Mum is so settled into the Home. The facilities are excellent the Manager and all the Team look after our Mum so so well. We always are made welcome when we visit our Mum. Thank you for everything you all do. We really appreciate all the care you give our Mum.

My nan has been to Clara Court for respite, I am very impressed with the care she is receiving. Staff are very friendly and the residents look happy. There is always activities going on and choices are offered to all living in the home. The home is lovely and clean.

I have been associated with Clara Court for over a year now, firstly my wife used to come here for respite care several times a year and since June 2017 came as a permanent resident but unfortunately she passed away at the end of August 2017. Since her death, the management have invited me for lunch
as and when I needed which I am very grateful for. I may add the care that was given to my wife was second to none and the staff have made me feel welcome when I come to lunch.

Although mum was only a resident at Clara Court for a short period of four weeks I was extremely satisfied with the care that she received. All members of the team at Clara Court treated mum with utmost respect thus maintaining her dignity.
As mum entered Clara Court at very short notice the staff
and management all helped significantly to get her settled in very quickly and were mindful of her dietary requirements following a short illness. I would have no hesitation in recommending Clara Court. Thank you so much for making her visit/stay so comfortable.

I live in Wales and am limited to the time I can visit my dad. Every time we do visit the staff are extremely helpful. We are offered tea as soon as we arrive. My dad is always clean and tidy unfortunately he is unable to walk or communicate with people but this does not stop the staff talking to him
and they always get a smile from him. I cannot thank the staff and management for the care they give to my dad. Thank you so very much.

My father was found a respite bed at Clara Court as my mother could no longer care for him at home. The room is spacious and bright, all the staff are professional and caring, and everyone here has helped our family far beyond expectations. We are 100% satisfied with Clara Court and it's staff.

My father was treated with the utmost respect and with dignity. The staff he couldn't fault. Dad did not like the food too many sandwiches which he does not enjoy and said the food was bland. Also, tea was served far too early and he was hungry by 7 o'clock again. If dad comes in for respite again,
I'd like him to be with residents that can hold a conversation. Even though dad has early dementia, I feel this became worse when he was in as he had no one apart from the wonderful staff to have a conversation with.

In regards to food, we always offer choices and menus based on residents’ feedback. I believe that, when he stayed with us, your father preferred to have a hot meal at lunch and often opted for a lighter option such as sandwiches for dinner, although hot meals are also available in the evenings. There are always food and refreshments on hand, and we ask all residents later on in the evening if they would like anything else before retiring, such as tea and biscuits, which I know your father also enjoyed.
Of course, if your father stays with us again we would be more than happy to speak with him and you regarding the food and make sure that we have plenty of options available that he’d enjoy – our chef will always be happy to adapt menus and foods to make sure all residents have dishes they like.


In regards to having other residents around with which he would be able to converse with, we have also made a note of this and mentioned to social services that he may prefer a room on a suite that caters for more residential care for any future respite stays. My mum has been in Clara Court for over two years and during that time her care has been above excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff from the management to the cleaner and everyone between. She suffers from dementia and some days and nights are more difficult but at all times, she is
treated with love, patience, care, respect and dignity. She has come back to health and eats all the excellent food at 99 years of age. Thank you, everyone, for all you do for us. It is reassuring to know she is receiving the best care and when visiting always seems happy.

Clara Court has become a familiar home from home for short residential respite periods for my husband. He is always welcomed and well looked after. Carers spend time and chat with him as well as look after his needs. This time the activities coordinator deserves a special mention for taking the time
to visit my husband in his room to discuss the daily social activities and encouraging him to get involved. Cards were a particular favourite, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Our thanks to all the team at Clara Court.

My Mum was in Clara Court for nine years and was very well looked after. Her carers had built a special bond with her which gave us so much confidence that she was well cared for. It did not matter what ever time we turned up they made us very welcome with Tea and biscuits. The activities for the residents
were extremely good with
outings as well. Mum had a very good appetite and all the meals provided looked very good. We had looked at four homes before we settled with Clara Court as the first impression was outstanding which made our decision to put Mum into care easier. I recommend Clara Court to anyone that is in the same position as we were. And a very
big thank you to everyone that made Mums remaining years happy ones.

My mother is very happy in Clara Court and is well cared for 24/7. She enjoys her food and amuses herself during the day. Although not very sociable, she does have the opportunity of musing with other residents.

Clara Court is a friendly and welcoming care home. All the staff are approachable and have been very helpful with any questions or requests. Visitors are welcomed by name and encouraged to join in with the many activities on offer. Rooms are spacious and clean with many personal touches. There are beautiful
well kept gardens with lots of seating areas and pet rabbits. Mum talks about the lovely food and home made cakes and tea. She described Clara Court as " like a ten star hotel."

A clean, comfortable and welcoming residence which is most helpful at a very difficult time. It's very impressive how much effort the staff make to get to know the new residents and their family, even remembering names of individuals when we visit.
They are patient with our enquiries and professional
in their approach. There is an air of calm around the facility which is clearly felt by the residents and reflected in their demeanour.

I was home to visit my grandmother and was very pleased at the standard of care that she was receiving. The staff are excellent and helping my grandmother to settle in.
The garden is wonderful and is a great space for my residents to relax and get some air.
Every visit I have made there has been a
mention of how great the food is, also numerous activities are taking place.
Not a dull moment!!

Our mother moved into Clara Court earlier this year. We cannot praise it enough. The manager and her team of staff are not only professional but so caring. You can feel the love as you walk through the front door. Mum has settled so well and says everyone is so kind and she feels safe. The staff
made the very quick transition from Mum's home to Clara Court so easy. The facilities are wonderful. We are thrilled with Clara Court!

My Mother is a day service user and has been since 2012.She enjoys activities daily run by staff and there are regular external entertainers. I have tasted the meals that the chefs make and they include homemade soups and smoked salmon and asparagus which is incredible for a care home. Mum is also able
to access a doctor on weekly visits and staff arrange monthly medication. The facilities are in good condition and communal areas and rooms are cleaned regularly. I can honestly say that the staff go over and above from the manager downwards.

I am a frequent visitor to Clara Court, (I take a friend to visit her mother) I am always impressed by the consistency of care shown by the staff to the frail and elderly residents.
As I cared for my husband (who had dementia) for 12years, I appreciate what a thankless task it can sometimes be but
all members of staff show patience and kindness at all times.
The activities co-ordinator shows amazing energy and enthusiasm.

Job Title: Home Manager

I’ve been at Clara Court since 2009, when I joined the team as a care assistant. I joined because Care UK has a clear vision for older people’s care which I believe in. I’m also passionate about providing high quality care and I want to make a difference to the lives of the people we care for.


Another rewarding part of my role is empowering colleagues to ensure that residents live their lives in the way they want. I enjoy engaging and motivating colleagues and seeing them develop and succeed.


Each day is different in this role. I enjoy having the chance to continue learning and developing my skills, and I love spending time with residents, supporting them to continue to live happy and fulfilling lives.
