Clara Court is a welcoming 'outstanding'-rated care home (March 2019) where a passionate and highly trained team provides quality residential, dementia and respite care for older people.

The purpose-built home has its own hair salon, café and a vintage-themed lounge, plus other shared lounges and activity spaces.

My father went into Clara Court in 2014. He has dementia and was becoming increasingly infirm. Clara Court is a modern, clean building with attentive and helpful staff. He is now bed bound and needs feeding and lifting to the loo. Staff have never complained about him and describe him as sweet natured
and courteous. He has an issue where he would fall out of bed during the night but the staff addressed that successfully I cannot fault the staff and would recommend Clara Court for anyone that found themselves in a similar position to ourselves.

In the 3 years since my Mum has been at Clara Court we couldn't be happier. The staff know all her family members by name and are always greeted with a smile, a cuppa and cake! We can visit any time and the staff are the same which is as reassuring for me as it is for my Mum. We are very lucky to
have Clara Court as my mums home. Thank you!

My opinion of Clara Court hasn't changed since my husband became a resident. I am completely at ease knowing he is so well looked after. The staff are friendly and efficient, and treat everyone with respect and I can't speak too highly of them. I am informed at all times, either in person or by phone
as to my husband's state of health. Management team - beyond compare.

My husband has been a resident at Clara Court since August 2014. He has vascular dementia and I was a full time carer to him for several years before Clara Court. I feel blessed that my husband is in the care of this home as not only do they care amazingly for the residents they also help relatives
to overcome anxiety and guilt that there loved one is now in care. From my personal experience the management and staff have helped me so much. This is a very happy cheerful home and also the activities team are fantastic.

I am cared for extremely well. All the staff are kind, friendly and make me feel very special. I have a small appetite but enjoy all of the meals. Unable to walk I prefer to spend a lot of time in my room, when I do join in the activities they are varied fun and well planned. My care home is very clean
and beautifully warm. My bed is very cosy. My clothes are washed and ironed very well and I always feel smart. Everyone treats me with respect ans I am always encouraged to love my life to the fullest. I am very happy.

When I talk about my aunt's care. I always say "I feel blessed to have found Clara Court". The atmosphere from the moment you walk in the front door and throughout the building, is one of calm and caring.
My aunt has been a resident for over five years and many of the staff are still there from the
day she arrived. In fact she is happier with their company than mine at times.

From the moment we walked into Clara Court we knew it was the best option for my mother-in-law's care. The whole environment was welcoming, attractive and the residents are encouraged to engage in a wide range of activities; including parties, games and exercise classes.
Most impressive of all is
the relationship staff members foster with the residents. We are incredibly grateful to all the wonderful staff who've treated my mother-in-law like their own family. Their compassion and professionalism is humbling.

My dad was bed-bound for almost a year. Since coming here he has become active again. He takes part in the activities every day. Food is provided regularly and he is eating well now. There is a good atmosphere in this home. The carers are fantastic, they really are. It is very clean, my dad has a wash
everyday and a fresh change of clothes thanks to the staff. He is smiling as lot too. I am very happy he is here.

A first appearance the home is very clean and tidy. Excellent facilities and the gardens very smart. The staff there are very good with the residents, as a result our dad is a lot happier and content since he has arrived here in December. The activities here help him keep motivated which is very good
for him. So on the whole an excellent care home. Like one big family, he's very happy now and we are too.

My daughter is in Clara Court because she suffers from bad MS which affects her physically and has reduced her cognitive abilities. Through she is only 44, in many ways she is like a woman in her 70's. The staff treat her exceptionally well and we regard them as friends, not just professional carers.
Facilities are good, everything is clean and there are regular social activities to keep her interested. In a previous home she tended to wander off and was at risk. There security is good but best of all she is settled.

Gladys Chironga

Job Title: Home Manager

I’ve been at Clara Court since 2009, when I joined the team as a care assistant. I joined because Care UK has a clear vision for older people’s care which I believe in. I’m also passionate about providing high quality care and I want to make a difference to the lives of the people we care for.


Another rewarding part of my role is empowering colleagues to ensure that residents live their lives in the way they want. I enjoy engaging and motivating colleagues and seeing them develop and succeed.


Each day is different in this role. I enjoy having the chance to continue learning and developing my skills, and I love spending time with residents, supporting them to continue to live happy and fulfilling lives.
