The home offers accommodation for up to 19 residents, with the larger rooms being available for couples. This smaller size provides a warm and friendly environment for residents, visitors and staff alike.

All the bedrooms are en-suite and residents have access to a communal lounge, a large dining room and conservatory as well as a large flat garden and two summerhouses.

Mum has been at Culwood for just over a year, having lived independently before a short but significant illness. She is very well in the main, however, her physical dexterity and confidence were impacted by her illness resulting in her move to Culwood. The staff are amazing in supporting her rehabilitation
and they have helped to develop her confidence to do more things each day. All of the team are friendly and welcoming and put the residents at the heart of everything they do. Nothing appears to be too much trouble: from a choc ice on a hot day to a listening ear. There are a wide range of activities so residents are mentally and physically stretched, should they wish to join in, ranging from trips on a canal boat, art lessons and 'Knit and Natter'- Mum's favourite! The menus are varied and residents are encouraged to request their favourite foods to feature on the ever-changing menu. Culwood is amazing. The team are terrific and I feel blessed to have found somewhere so lovely for mum!

I have visited Culwood House on numerous occasions since my mother became a resident in January and can honestly say that she is always very well looked after. The care home has a warm and friendly atmosphere which is entirely down to the excellent staff, all of whom my mother likes. Having been increasingly
concerned for my mother's wellbeing over the last 4 years, it is extremely comforting to know that she is now well cared for and safe at Culwood House.

I researched several care homes before choosing Culwood House. Without a doubt, the quality of the accommodation and staff is superior to any others we looked at. I liked the fact that there is a family feeling between staff.

My Aunt settled in well and all staff have been helpful and welcoming. Staff were given a training course to better facilitate and understand her condition. Culwood had such a homely atmosphere that we felt she would be able to settle more quickly. She loves the garden and the access to it. The fact
that meals, especially during warm weather, can be eaten outside or in, at residents individual choosing, gives the home a more relaxed feel. The staff are always attentive and take time with the residents and their differing personalities. Choosing Culwood was definitely the right decision due mainly to the staff and homely atmosphere.

My Mother was in Culwood House Residential Care Home for over 3 years, and it was a great comfort and reassurance to know how well she was looked after. The staff were so caring, kind and patient. Always quick to call for medical advice.
Culwood House is very cosy and clean, with a homely atmosphere,
lovely conservatory and beautiful garden.
Our family were always made very welcome when visiting and were always provided with drinks and delicious lunches when required.

My father stayed at Culwood for just over a year. He moved there around the end of January 2016 and passed away in March of this year. Throughout his stay, he was well looked after by the staff who were diligent and thoughtful.
The standards of care were high and the team did a good job of understanding
and dealing with his specialist needs.

My family can't praise the home enough. They deal with my father's needs extremely well. The carers are sympathetic, caring and kind. The food is good and the residents are entertained and kept active. It's a wonderful, wonderful place!

Everything about Culwood House Residential Care Home for the Elderly from the caring staff, to the beautifully kept rooms, the delicious home cooked food, the Easter egg hunt and the respect when my mother has been shown could not be improved upon it. It truly is a home from home and I visited many
before coming across Culwood House Residential Care Home for the Elderly. I would not let my mother stay anywhere else!

My mother has been a resident at Culwood House for 2 and a half years. She has good mental capacity but suffers from osteoporosis and needs a lot of physical support. The care and affection she receives is outstanding.
I have recommended Culwood House to friends who now have parents living there too!
The
standard of upkeep and maintenance of the home is excellent. I am made to feel so welcome there too, and I actually often try to put my own house key in the front door!

Rachel

Rachel Elton-Jones

Job Title: Registered Manager

Joined: 2008

Rachel Elton-Jones is responsible for the overall management of Culwood House and its employees and has been working at Culwood House since 2008. She is Anita Larkin’s daughter and grew up in Culwood House’s sister care home, White Hill House, from the age of six. Before working at Culwood House she worked for Morgan Stanley in Canary Wharf for 8 years and prior to that she worked for Willis in the City for 4 years. Rachel holds a QCF level 5 diploma in health and social care, an ILM leadership and management award and a BA hons degree in Modern Languages and European studies. She undertakes training on a regular basis to keep her knowledge and skills up to date. She is a member of the Skills for Care registered managers’ network, the My Home Life initiative and the Bucks registered managers’ network which helps her to keep abreast of changes within the sector. Rachel is supported by a fantastic team at Culwood House which consists of three team leaders, an administration manager, care assistants, chefs and housekeeping staff.
