My parents moved into Meadowside at short notice. The warmth of the welcome they received helped them make the transition to living there. The staff are kind, friendly and supportive. Meadowside feels homely. Activities are available most days if residents wish to join in. Mum and Dad have appreciated
the regular supply of nutritious meals and cups of tea or coffee. My parents have been able to maintain friendships outside the home by having visitors regularly and going out when possible. Staff respect my parents' wishes as to how they would like to structure their day.
Communication from the managers at Meadowside has been excellent. They have updated me regularly as to how Mum and Dad are getting on and more urgently when necessary. I always feel that I can contact them if I am concerned. Staff greet my siblings and I warmly when we visit, hot drinks and biscuits are always available!

Well-organised and run home, with attentive and friendly staff. The food was decent but only a fairly basic menu.

I have been living at Meadowside for 2.5 years now and I am very content with my experience here. My room is private and comfortable, not very big but I have a good-sized bed and adequate furniture. I have a shower room and toilet for my own use, attached to my room which is a great benefit. The members
of staff are always friendly, patient and cheerful at all times. I enjoy the friendly gatherings with other residents in the sitting room and when possible in the garden. My family and friends are able to visit me frequently and at times take me out for a change.

I have been a resident of this care home since August 2022. I have found that the care that I continue to receive remains consistent, any problems that I have are dealt with promptly and efficiently. This is the case with both management and staff who are all trained to a high degree. We have a visiting
dentist, optician, chiropodist, hairdresser and pilates practitioner, plus a medical advisor. We also have visiting musicians!

Meadowside and all the staff have gone above and beyond to help my mum settle into the home, they have listened, comforted, and cuddled. Everyone is so welcoming that you really feel like you are one big family. The food is superb. Extra cups of tea are no problem. I honestly feel like it is home from
home.

Since moving into Meadowside in April, initially for respite care, my relative has been so utterly impressed with the kindness, care, compassion and friendliness of every member of the team, so much so, he decided to make it his permanent home. What more is there to be said other than thank you to each
and everyone at Meadowside.

The staff have all been very friendly and professional toward Mum and helping her settle. The home is 'homely' and comfortable, small and every resident is treated as an individual and their needs catered for. It also feels like a safe environment and a happy place to live.

I arrived at Meadowside two years ago during the first COVID lockdown. I immediately felt very much at home. I settled in quickly. I love my room. They built a garden room so that we could have visitors even during the strict lockdown. I'm enjoying having visitors in my room now and getting out and
about. The staff are very special, always going out of their way to be helpful and supportive.

Meadowside is a small residential home run by a very caring, knowledgeable and professional manager/owner, well supported by her team. My mother moved from a larger home, one of a chain, to be nearer to me and my family. When I was looking for a local care home I was immediately impressed by the manager
and noted her comment that her aim was to provide a home for the resident, rather than just somewhere for them to live out their remaining years. This aim has been more than adequately met and my mother frequently comments that she could not imagine being better looked after. Restrictions due to the pandemic have always been applied with the best interests and safety of the residents to the fore. Visitors are made very welcome and the value to residents of these visits and external visits are fully recognised. I can thoroughly recommend Meadowside to anyone seeking a caring community in which the needs of their loved one are recognised and catered for.

I am a temporary resident and I feel safe and happy here. I love the help and encouragement I get to get on with my life's work (an artist and a Christian) and to be independent. I broke my leg and I am being given every encouragement to get back to normal life. I rate this place highly, the staff are
kind and it has a nice ambience, talking with the residents (12 of us).

Meadowside is a very pleasant caring home where I am confident that my 102-year-old mother is being very well cared for. The staff are, in my opinion, all exceptional and the home has the atmosphere of a happy family home. Visitors are always made welcome with offers of refreshment. We are really happy
that we made the decision to move my mother into Meadowside.

After looking at several homes in the area I chose this one to look after my father.
The staff are so considerate and caring and have time to talk to the residents.
It is a small home so feels more like a home than an institution.
Very pleased.

My Mother (91 years) has been a resident of Meadowside for one year since March 2017. She is very well looked after. The carers are attentive, kind and the whole approach of the home is very professional. Before choosing Meadowside I visited two other care homes in Marlow and chose this as the solution
for my Mother. It was a good choice. She is settled and contented at Meadowside.

All the resident, family and staff are like one big family.

The carers are little angels. The management are always around to talk to and they make time for residents and family. The care is second to none and so glad my brother lives in Meadowside, he is cared for so much and most of all I don't

have to worry.

I am unable to visit very often but whenever I am at the home the atmosphere is calm, clean and caring. So many of the needs of my aunt are met - having her nails painted is a real treat at 90. Communication by email, text and telephone are all available to contact the management and are answered promptly.

Meadowside is a lovely owner managed care home easily accessible on the Eastern side of Marlow. The staff are excellent and the general atmosphere at the home is most friendly, whilst maintaining a high standard of professional care and attention to detail. My mother was resident at Meadowside for nearly
three years and was always treated with much respect and dignity. She was always very happy during her period of occupancy. Highly recommended.

This is a small centre with dedicated staff creating a family atmosphere. My mother was able to live the last year of her life with dignity and in comfort with all her needs catered for. Family and friends were able to visit and made to feel welcome. When necessary I was able to speak to management.
Conversely, I was consulted by management and staff regarding important issues relating to my mother’s care. When visiting I was made to feel part of the community.
I was struck by the professionalism and expertise of staff and how content the members of staff were.
When issues arose the staff dealt with them in a calm and professional manner.
I have no hesitation in recommending Meadowside as an excellent Care Home.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.307)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.307) out of 10 for Meadowside is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.607 for Meadowside is calculated as follows: ( (53 Excellents x 5) + (29 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.607

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Meadowside is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 14 registered maximum number of service users is 2.8, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
