Rayners, which was purposely built and developed in 1990 to suit older people's care needs and makes the most of a skilled and friendly team in order to achieve a very high level of customer satisfaction.

Rayners is still family-owned and managed and is operated by the Matthews family and not part of a care homegroup.

Each of the 44 single bed suites at Rayners, including bathrooms, toilets and lounge areas have large picture windows, television, telephone point, complimentary wi-fi and an emergency nurse call system installed. There are no set visiting hours and visitors are encouraged at all times.

Self-contained luxury 'assisted living apartments' have been added within the grounds of Rayners. These offer emergency 24-hour support for those who require the reassurance, security and back up of a care home, without having to enter a communal living setting.

Professionals at Rayners know that social activity is important and therefore publish a newsletter detailing varied activities and events for the forthcoming month. They encourage suggestions from residents/relatives relating to the high-class service they offer and have a 'suggestion box' on reception for this purpose.

Rayners kitchens are fitted with all the latest equipment to ensure that residents receive high quality, well-balanced meals prepared in ultra-hygienic surroundings, by qualified and experienced chefs.

The staff take great pride in their catering services and very proud to announce that they do not set budgets on food costs, whilst still supporting local trades to supply the catering team. All fresh meat is supplied by a local butcher, Kings Farm Shop in Wendover.

Rayners is situated in a tranquil setting in the Chiltern Village of Hyde Heath. They are close to the M40, M25 and M1 motorways, making it accessible for visiting.

Everyone was always very attentive to out Mum's needs and she was well-looked after throughout her sty. There is a lovely ethos at Rayners that creates a caring and supportive atmosphere. We were stuck in our first visit - even as we stepped across the threshold - by the impeccable caring and positive
feel of the home. Managers and staff have created a special place for people to spend the last periods of their lives.
Communication with us was frequent and kept us up to date with how Mum was doing. It's the attention to detail that we found impressive - for example, in relation to communication, phonecalls would always being with a re-assuring "There's nothing to worry about - we just want to tell you....". On the day Mum died, it was touching that Rayners organised her room with her special things close by, and we greatly appreciated their sensitivity towards family members at this crucial moment. While, thanks again to managers keeping us up to speed, we were expecting the worst, it still comes as a shock when it actually happens. The support and information Rayners provided to the family at this time; was very consoling.

From admission through to his death, we could not fault the care, consideration and compassion shown to our father, by every member of staff. He, and we as his family, were made to feel most welcome throughout his, all too short, stay at Rayners. The additional support from the hospice staff was second
to none, and we have nothing but praise for everyone who looked after him. Thank you Rayners.

All the staff were so caring and thoughtful to mum and dad, nothing was too much trouble
The home is very clean, bright and beautiful decor and there are plenty of activities for the residents.
When dad died everyone was so kind to us and supportive to mum, it really helped, there was always someone
for her to talk to if she needed it.
When sadly she passed away shortly afterwards, everyone again was great.
Although they were only there for a short time, our memories are very positive, and I would not hesitate to recommend, for anybody looking for ongoing care

Mum and Dad were only resident for a short while, but the staff were all extremely attentive and kind throughout. This was not true of one person in particular but applies to all staff.
Very good care home, I would have no problem recommending to relatives/friends.

Mother went here very last minute after hospital. Very friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble. Food great, just like a hotel. Spotless everywhere. The best in my opinion, in the area of Amersham.

I recently spent 2 weeks in Rayners was very impressed with all aspects of the home. It is very well run, feels more like a hotel than a care home. The staff are very caring, take time to attend to everyone which leads to a very calming atmosphere.

Every time I visit my father, the staff greet me by name and seem genuinely pleased to see me. I have a young daughter (20 months) who is very active but they are welcoming to all family members and we can visit often and freely. Rayners offer a huge range of activities and entertainment for the residents,
on a daily basis, and go out of their way to make the atmosphere 'homey'. The communal areas are always well presented with fresh flowers and the gardens are well maintained and a joy to sit in. Although we were sad not to be able to continue dad's care at home, we know that he is well cared for by the highly experienced senior staff and their team.

Mum started respite care in a different care home with the same inspection ratings as Rayners. Thank goodness we were told about this home. It is a grand hotel in comparison. Wine offered at lunchtime, red or white. Proper material serviettes and plenty of good food. Care, kindness, patience and time
are given instinctively to those who need it. Want to book myself in. Amazing. Can't praise the owner of the care home enough.

My Dad is always given excellent care. The staff are hardworking but never to busy to stop for a chat. They are always patient and kind. The level of care is outstanding. The food is always excellent and is always suitable for my Dad's diabetes. There is a happy and relaxed atmosphere at Rayners and

My Mother was resident at Rayners for three months following brain surgery for the removal of a large brain tumour. The facilities and care at Rayners were outstanding as were the caring staff. The meals provided really were of the highest calibre, with the kitchen always using fresh ingredients. In
fact, my Mother came home a stone heavier - she enjoyed herself so much that we had troubles getting her to leave! Being family owned was also a great asset to the home, with a warm and homely atmosphere. She made some great friends whilst there and still returns to visit.

The home is spotlessly clean - everybody is caring and friendly, there is plenty of choice on the menu, food is always served with good presentation/hot, different activity every day.

My mother has been at Rayners since 13th May 2017. The level of care given has been superb and we've seen a marked improvement in her health since her multiple strokes in March which were followed by a stay in hospital. My father suffered a number of UTIs leading up to early April and had been admitted
to hospital before eventually ending up in a different care home. We moved my father into Rayners to be with my mother on 1st January 2018. He also appears to be improving, albeit slowly. Rayners, in our opinion, has been exceptional.

My father was a resident at Rayners for over three years. He was very happy after his initial settling in period. I was always impressed with the level of care and genuine affection shown by all the staff and management. The quality of food is excellent and plentiful as required. The speciality days
or evenings were of particular note and required a huge effort by everyone. I always found Rayners clean and the staff readily and cheerfully responsive to residents needs.

My late dad was treated with dignity and respect. Dementia had made him rather challenging to care for. However, I know they did a wonderful job in the few years he was resident.

My mother was a resident for 15 months until her death in August 2016. Throughout this period the care she received was exemplary. There were always members of staff on hand and nothing was ever a problem or trouble. The home was always clean and tidy and the food excellent. All the residents were encouraged
to drink regularly and to take part in the activities provided. During my mother's final few days we- her family- were welcomed at all times of the day and night and looked after well with kindness and compassion. I cannot praise the staff at Rayners highly enough. Thank you all!!
