Lathbury Manor Care Home provides highly personalised care for residents with dementia and a wide range of other conditions associated with old age.

As a smaller home, it prides itself on getting to know its residents and relatives well and going the extra mile to meet all care and support needs.

The home is set in a converted coaching inn and has lots of character and beautiful gardens, which are always accessible to residents.

There is a tea/activity room in the gardens providing an additional space for residents and relatives when visiting or to host family parties in.

Lathbury Manor has a full programme of activities, led and coordinated by a full time activities coordinator. It has lots of visiting entertainers and trips out whenever possible to the local shops, parks and theatre.

Family seasonal parties are always a highlight of the year for residents, relatives and staff.

Home from home is how I would describe Lathbury Manor.
Dad was in the care home for almost four years until his recent passing. It's not just that the care he got was excellent, it was the fact that each member of staff treated him as though he was a member of their family. Dad loved it there and loved
the staff.
They couldn't do enough for him day or night, whenever I visited, I always got offered a cup of tea and something to eat and told what a 'cheeky chappy' he is, 'we love him, such a Gentleman, old school' which described him to a T.
I can't thank the staff enough for the love and care they gave Dad over the years he was there, towards the end he was treated with such dignity, care and loving.
I can say that I will miss visiting the place now Dad has passed.

The day we found Lathbury Manor was the luckiest day for my mother and all my family. Throughout her 4 years there, my mother was treated with such amazing care.
The staff at Lathbury Manor are the kindest, caring and hardworking staff you could ever wish for, managed by their amazing team leader.
No matter what time of day I would visit my mum, I would find her so well cared for- it really is like a true family home. Every day there is filled with joy and love and that is extended to the relatives too!
The staff work tirelessly, running a whole host of activities for the residents. The grounds are lovely and are enjoyed by residents and family alike.
Sadly my mother passed away there, however, we couldn’t have wished for her to have been in a better place, surrounded by love. The wonderful care team were so supportive to myself and my family and many of the team now feel like friends.
Thank you for everything you did for us you lovely Lathbury Manor care staff, we will never forget you.

Me and my sister have been visiting our mother at Lathbury for some time and have got to say we just cannot fault the place. They have the most patient and caring staff, nothing is too much trouble. The management are always on hand to listen to any concerns you might have and resolve them. The residents
are never bored and there is always something going on. Well done Lathbury - 10/10.

A best friend of ours came into Lathbury Manor 15 months ago. What a difference in our friend. He has settled very well. All the staff are so very kind to him, his wife visits regularly, and so does his son and many friends. You are always made welcome and hospitality is always there. Every event they
put is a pleasure to attend. Once again, you are always welcome. Thank you to the manager and all her staff for their hard work and commitment. I was in care for 30 years and know how hard the work is. Well done Lathbury Manor.

It’s the staff who make a care home what it is and Lathbury has the kindest, most dedicated staff you can imagine. There is a home from home feeling, with no airs and graces, just genuine concern, care and affection for all the residents. All the staff know the small number of residents (and their families)
really well. The food is great, the grounds are lovely for sitting out in, there are lots of well-chosen activities. The staff and residents have fun together which lightens the mood and makes life as good as is possible for those living there. My mum, suffering from Alzheimer’s, has been living at Lathbury for 4 months now. I visit often, at all sorts of times, and I feel very confident in the care she’s receiving. Thank you, everyone, at Lathbury.

Lathbury Manor has excellent staff who really care about their residents, they do all they can to ensure everyone is happy and cared for. My mother called it home and enjoyed the outings and activities very much. And as a family, we came to consider the staff as friends.

My father has only been at Lathbury Manor for 3 weeks now, he suffers from dementia and at times can be very confused and gets upset easily, but over the last 3 weeks, I have seen a steady improvement in his quality of life. This is down to the kindness and caring provided by the management and all
the brilliant staff at this home. They are also very kind and considerate to my mother who visits my father nearly every day, providing information and good advice where ever possible. I personally just want to say THANK YOU to every one of the great staff that work at Lathbury Manor as its the happiest and best I have seen my father for a very long time, and I truly believe this is purely down to your kindness, caring and hard work you do each and every day.

My mother was a resident at Lathbury Manor for more than 3 years. She was suffering with deteriorating Alzheimer's. She was in two homes prior to Lathbury Manor, we were not happy with either, my mum was agitated in both and could not settle. However, as soon as she moved into this home she started
to settle and smile again. I can honestly say if I am ever in need of a care home if this home has the same staff I will go here. Much of the staff have been here for many years, a good indication that they are happy too I think. They have created a really lovely, caring and relaxed environment. They show great affection and respect for the people in their care. My Mum passed away in November, her final weeks were managed really well, I genuinely could not have asked for more from the home, they were fantastic. Whilst it would not be right to name staff here individually it will soon become obvious when you visit those who make this home special, it is the people and ethos of the home that matter.

It is a huge relief to know my parents are well cared for in Lathbury Manor by staff who are kind, friendly and helpful. The rooms are pleasant and the grounds delightful and they love when the weather allows them to sit outside. The food is good and wholesome.

My husband, who has been at Lathbury since February 2015, is the happiest person I know! He is kept warm, clean and comfortable at all times. He has a good appetite and enjoys the food provided which is of a high dietary standard. He is surrounded by carers who are not only good at their job but are
warm-hearted and fun to be with. Activities are an important part of life at Lathbury and try to involve whatever is suitable and appropriate (and of course enjoyable) for all within their own personal mental and physical constraints. I know that if anything occurs with respect to my husband's welfare I will be informed immediately which is of great comfort to me. Lathbury is a really happy home and I too am happy and relieved to know that my husband is safe and well cared for within its confines.

Dad has only been at Lathbury Manor a week but I'm keen to leave a review as I've got such a positive feeling about the home from all my interactions with it so far. It really feels like 'home' and not 'a home' and Dad already seems very settled. There is a lovely atmosphere and the manager and her
team have gone the extra mile to make both us and Dad feel welcome and to keep in touch with us in these early days - the manager even rang to tell me the lovely news that Dad had enjoyed his first shower in years. I could tell from Dad's smile today that he feels well looked after and content, which is all we can ask for at the moment. Regarding the ratings below, I'm only able to give first impressions, so they may well improve next time!

Mum has been in Lathbury for 17 months. All the family have commented on how happy she is now, and enjoying her food and the company of other people in the home. The staff always have time to speak with us regarding Mum. It's like meeting your friends, they're all very welcoming, it's like home from

My mother has now been at Lathbury for about eight months and we are very satisfied with the level of care she is receiving. Her health has declined noticeably over the period but the staff have always been one step ahead in predicting what she needs and implementing it to a very high standard. All
members of staff appear to be friendly, helpful and caring and have made every effort to cater as much as possible to my mother's personal wishes. I would certainly recommend the home to anyone wanting a friendly, safe and caring environment for someone close to them.

My father was a resident for the last three years of his life. Being an independent person he settled well,enjoying the comforts of his room at Lathbury, being spoiled by the carers and enjoying his food. In the last year of his life, his health deteriorated and needed much more attention, all the carers
gave him so much support making his life the best he could have and the catering staff going out of their way to accommodate him.
The home was always clean and tidy, staff always willing to help and give support when needed.They were always caring, polite and friendly to both residents and family.
I was given valuable support at a difficult time when coming to the end of his life.

Tables and chairs in the music room where my Mum has her meals are very dirty. Always got other people clothes in her wardrobe despite having names in them. Not introduced properly to new staff, so never know whether they are staff or relatives.

However during the day they can get soiled particularly at meal times. I will make sure we are doing even more to meet your expectations.

My Mum has been happy at Lathbury for over six years now. The carers are very friendly towards relatives and have formed good relationships with the residents.
The managers have always listened to any concerns I may have had over the years and passed these on to the care workers.
The entertainment
programme is good. The residents particularly enjoy various singers who visit regularly.

My mother was a resident at Lathbury Manor for just over a year. Within a very short time of her arriving the staff understood mum; they all knew her likes, dislikes and individual needs. She was always treated with respect and dignity. I visited at all times of day and always found the staff to be
welcoming. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they always had a smile. I am very pleased that mum was able to spend her final year in such a happy, caring and homely environment.

My Mother was resident at Lathbury Manor for nearly 6 years until recently when she passed away, In that time she flourished, the helpful caring environment helped her to have a fruitful and fulfilled last years. The staff are highly professional yet provide a homely and friendly place to live. The
high standards of cleanliness never wavered at anytime - I called at anytime without an appointment, and was always greeted with a smile and made to feel very welcome by all the staff. Mum made friends with staff and residents alike.


She would join in the many activities that are provided throughout the week and enjoyed the outings to Panto, shopping and regular summer parties .


I have nothing but high praise for this home and the staff.
