Ashlyn Care Home is a friendly and relaxed place for elderly people to live. It is registered for residential and dementia care.

It encourages residents and visiting families and friends to be fully involved in the day-to-day life of the home including activities. All visitors are welcome to join residents for meals, when possible. Above all, staff believe in a flexible person-centred approach.

The large, enclosed garden areas provide a variety of outside space and are fully accessible for wheelchairs. Catering and laundry facilities are created to provide excellent services for residents, as well as a safe and pleasant working environment for staff.

My mum was admitted to Ashlyn in June 2019. She was very unhappy and frustrated and angry with her dementia and became a liability to my dad and dangerous and had several falls. On admission to this home, she changed overnight with the care given to her. She started to smile again and the staff gave
her the care and attention she deserved She has everything she needs and above all, her dignity, respect and happiness.

We have nothing but praise and thanks, to all the amazing staff at Ashlyn, since it became our dad's new home, last September. We also refer to Ashlyn as our second home too now, with the warm, friendly and family welcome we receive every time we visit. There is always good communication between the
staff, and family at all times, which helped immensely and gave us reassurance when dad was settling in, which took no time at all and in a place he now calls home. There are daily activities for the residents to join in, from baking, gardening, movie shows with popcorn and more. Dad loves the singers that visit, singing being his passion. Day trips out too are often arranged, which the residents look forward to. We would highly recommend Ashlyn. They take the best care of our loved one who we value immensely.

The residents are well cared for. My mother is happy and well looked after. Her needs are met and the activities are a good motivation and help her try to relate to memories. A happy environment, all the staff are happy and caring as they undertake very challenging duties. A happy and clean environment
which we are extremely happy with.

The staff are always so happy and friendly, very personal service for mum and our family members who visit. Mum has settled in really well in a short time. We have been able to decorate her large room with all her favourite pictures, photos, ornaments and a few bits of her furniture to make her feel
more like she is in her own home. Mum is treated with the respect and dignity she deserves and we are always welcome to visit whenever we want, no notice necessary. All the other residents seem happy, contented and well looked after. Mum is constantly checked to make sure she is okay and whether she needs anything, from a cup of tea or a chat. I feel so happy for her and confident when I leave after a visit that she will be cared for as I would like her to be and as she deserves. Mum loves the food and just because there are set meal times, there is a constant round of hot drinks and snacks in between. Thank you all at Ashlyn.

We would like to thank the staff for making the stressful move for my Mother of 92 years effortless. You have made her most comfortable and it is great to see some of her confidence coming back. The home is most welcoming and I know my mother is enjoying the varied menu and is looking healthier and
happier than she has done for sometime. Knowing that staff are on hand 24hrs a day has taken a great deal of stress from the family.


I would highly recommend this home to anyone. We hear some terrible stories in the media but I can honestly state that the staff are excellent, the home is clean and the chef and his team go out of their way to meet all dietary needs.

My Mother has been in dementia care for more than 2 years now, most of which has been spent at Ashlyn House. She has her peculiarities, not least her refusal to sleep in her room (as she suffers from hallucinations) and an aversion to the hoist.


She was recently in hospital, and on her return required

additional support, both internally and from the district nurse, this was carried out professionally. In recent months a dementia care specialist has been appointed to the staff, this I believe is a good thing. The dementia care unit has recently been redecorated, improving the atmosphere, there also seems to be more staff in attendance, also a good thing from my point of view.


Despite the challenges my mother gives the staff, they are taking good care of her, if they have any concerns they always contact me (or my brother) to let us know what is going on.

My mother has been a resident in Ashlyn for several years, she has always been clean and tidy and very happy. Just recently she was quite ill but received first class care from all the staff at Ashlyn. I am sure this is the reason she pulled through.

I started working at Ashlyn Care Home since Aug 2023 but was previously Home Manager at Sister home Abbot Care Home and joined them on 1st March 2021. I have been a qualified Nurse for 32 years

I love seeing people thrive in our care. It’s especially rewarding to witness people regaining their independence and hearing positive comments from themselves and
their families.

My team at Ashlyn Care Home are an incredible bunch, very hard working and, always put the people we care for first. I’m incredibly honoured to call these people my colleagues.

Caring for people has always been my passion, but when I started, I wasn’t sure where it would take me. It’s certainly been a journey, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
