My mother was resident from August 2014 until her death in January 2018 at the age of 97. The care provided has always been excellent. She was always comfortable and clean. She had a choice of food throughout the day which was freshly prepared on the premises by staff who took a pride in what was being
offered. She was actively encouraged to spend her daytimes in the communal areas and to participate in activities. The premises are of a traditional construction and have the appearance of a real home environment with bedrooms located off of communal areas which include basic kitchen facilities. The entire premises have always been well furnished, clean and fresh smelling with ornaments and flowers to create a homely atmosphere. There are proper arrangements in place for laundry, bathing, hairdressing and attendances by GPs, district nurses and chiropodists. The staff make real efforts to celebrate birthdays and national events in ways that engage the residents appropriately.

My mother lived here for just over a year, she had advanced Alzheimer's dementia and could no longer walk or talk.
Mum always loved her music so the staff made sure her headphones were charged for the next day.
The staff always smiled and made sure she always had a drink with a straw on her table,
we made jokes that the straws should be longer to fit into a jug.
Mum's room was a shared room with a wonderful lady over 100 years young as the home was fully occupied at the time.
The room was large and bright with a large bay window looking out to the garden which was on the ground floor just a few foot steps to the front parlour which was so homely. It was oldish, not posh but everyone there was happy due to the comfort, plenty of room and plenty to eat and drink.
The garden of the home is large with a couple of fish ponds, we enjoyed our time there and the garden fetes they put on.
Some of the staff have worked at the home for many years and are truly dedicated to caring for others.
