Brenalwood is a purpose-built residential home, situated close to the sea and shops and accommodates 36 residents on two floors. An eight-person passenger lift is available for residents on the first floor.

There are 32 single and 2 double rooms. All have en-suite facilities, phone points, nurse call points, and are individually furnished.

There are front and rear accessible gardens with bird aviary and rabbit enclosure and fish pond.

A variety of activities and entertainment is provided weekly, plus occasional outings to places of interest. A chiropodist visits the home every 6 weeks.   

Visiting is restricted due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Please contact the home manager for up to date details on the visiting policy.

Our mother has been living at Brenalwood Care Home for a year. We are very happy indeed with her care. The staff are friendly and extremely caring. Our moth loves all the activities and is always well presented and comfortable and our family loves the welcoming atmosphere - we can pop in anytime: and
it's fantastic to see our mum smiling and happy - especially at the music events! We are very glad we found Brenalwood!

With granny staying here in Brenalwood is all v.good, staff here are very friendly, very nice, Food are all v.good, facilities are v.good. Granny's bedroom is nice and clean. Over all experience is excellent. Thanks.

The care is of a high quality on a 24/7/365 basis. If at any time there has been a problem, the care home has always telephoned me with an update of the problem, care and well-being. Day and or night time it gives me peace of mind.

A very nice care home with patient staff that keep all the residents healthy and happy. I have seen a few care homes, and Brenalwood makes every effort to ensure good stimulation in addition to rest and relaxation.

Since the new manager has arrived I receive regular updates from the care staff as to mum's wellbeing. This is welcomed given I live over the other side of the country I cannot visit easily.
All the staff are very caring.

My Father has been a resident here since late January 2024 due to his Dementia. The staff are wonderful & care for my father's needs & look after him & all the residents.
There are many activities held each day for the residents & when we visit my father they always offer us refreshments or something
to eat if they are serving food or snacks.
We are always keeped informed about any issues if they arise and very happy with the care my father receives at Brenalwood.
We are grateful for the care & hard work all the staff give my father here.

My mum has been a resident in Brenalwood for just over a year, she has cognitive impairment and nursed in bed.
From the very first day all staff have treated mum and her family with the utmost respect and kindness and nothing is too much trouble.
She was put on the end of life care pathway last Feb
'24 and we thought we were going to lose her last year but due to the amazing care from the staff, we are lucky enough to still have her.
She is now able to eat solid food and the staff go out of their way to provide foods to tempt her appetite, they are all so patient with her.
I can only visit once a week but the manager keeps me updated and informed of any changes, mums key worker also tells me how she has been in the week.
My family feel blessed that mum was placed in this home

Whenever I visit my sister is clean and is well-cared for. She doesn't eat much in between meals, but meals are good. If my sister comes out with her family, the staff always keep her midday meal hot for her. Today she was in good form, chatting with her friends and they all seemed happy - in fact,
they all told me they were happy here. The staff always welcome my family and myself and we are on friendly terms with them all.

Since my dad has been at this care home I have seen a really good improvement with the service to their residents and the care that is shown. My dad was initially upstairs but now he is downstairs and able to partake sitting in the lounge which is something I have always encouraged. I have seen a number
of managers and the current manager is extremely kind & considerate and very friendly as are the carers. I have always seen the carers giving loving care.

My sister is so happy here its so nice to see her well looked after, the staff that look after her are so good with her & also they all make you feel very welcome, its a very friendly place to sit & talk to my sister and some of the lady's around her, All the staff are very kind & chef is great she
cooks a lovely dinner, At the party's everyone are great its good fun, also I bring my little dog stay with me & she is made very welcome everybody loves to see her. :)
I can't fault anything its a lovely place, well done All!!

I have always found that at the Brenalwood Care Home, the staff have provided professional care and the highest level of dedication to their work. In very challenging situations and physical tasks, it can be difficult to constantly maintain standards. I can not praise them enough for how they have helped

My mum was in Brenalwood for about 9 months, she was the grand old age of 96 years. She was treated very kindly, as she couldn't do much for herself, the staff were great with her, and when she passed in November they sat with her until I got there. She died with me there as she didn't want to die alone.
I can only say good things about the staff, they were also very kind to me.

I am really pleased with all the care and attention our daughter gets in what she calls, her home. She loves doing most of the activities. The food, she loves and the chef is very good. Our daughter likes all of the carers, they always make her laugh. She takes her medication with no problem. The staff
even look after us when we visit.

My brother arrived shortly before the home was judged to require improvement by the CQC. We found it fine, though the new management did improve the regime. I found the staff caring and compassionate, clearly displaying their vocations to residents. They were patient and very hardworking and many went
above their paid call of duty to ensure my brother's needs were met and make him comfortable in his home. The staff were good at listening to any concerns I had and kept me updated. There was one issue following my brother's discharge from the hospital where the protocol was followed but needed common sense and intelligence to see through a negligent discharge note.
