The Corner House is a family run Care Home (since 1999), situated close to the Sea Front. They welcome you to come and visit the home which boasts beautifully decorated en suite rooms, and spacious landscaped gardens. The Corner House received an 'Outstanding' CQC rating in the 'Well-led' category (July 2018).

During lockdown times, the gardens have been used by families and friends to have much-needed meetups. The weather has enabled precious moments between loved ones.
The home has a Gazebo which provides shelter and creates an outside room. The garden also has a cafe and ice cream booth for long, hot summer days.

The highly trained staff offer warm and friendly care, whilst supported by CCTV for the comfort of family and residents alike.

The care home has a long history of providing excellent care, demonstrated by the many awards (2016-2018) including:

Bedrooms are tastefully decorated each with telephone & television points and state of the art call bells.

In 2019/20, the care home was refurbished to include a bar (Temple Bar), retro lounge and a shop for the wellbeing of residents.

Meals are carefully designed with nutrition and variety in mind including special menus.

My mother has been in the Corner House since August 24 all her needs have been met. She is not lonely anymore. It is nice and warm and comfortable. Her clothes are always clean as is her room. She finds the food delicious and enjoys meal time. Activities are endless and so interesting with themes relating
to the month and events going on. The staff are excellent and so very caring and kind. I cannot fault this wonderful care home.

We placed our Mum in Corner House and we can say we are so pleased with our choice. It has new management which has been good for the home. The atmosphere in the home is always happy and pleasant. The staff are always approachable and happy. The care our mum receives is at a high standard. We don't
worry when we are not with her, also the communication between us and the home is excellent. The food is really good and the choice is always for the residents. The manager is always approachable and caring, helpful, and nothing is too much trouble.

I feel comfortable coming to visit my grandparents here at the corner house. The staff are welcoming, friendly, polite and helpful. There are a range of activities for all residents to get involved in everyday throughout the week. This ranges from music sessions, arts and crafts, pamper sessions, science
experiments and lots more. My grandparents say they enjoy the food and the choices available. My Grandpa and Nana appear happy and settled living here. They both socialise with other residents living at the Corner house, and the staff. Family are able to visit whenever. Family are involved a lot with the care homes events and it is a lovely environment to be involved within especially knowing my Grandpa and Nana are happy and heard.

Since the new manager and entertainment manager have started the atmosphere in the home has improved. The manager is more prominent in the daily interaction with the residents and the staff seem happier. And the food looks brilliant! I can't select a rating for 'Value For Money' because I don't know
the charges.

I cannot fault the corner house care. The staff and management do all they can to assist in every way. The young lady who takes care of the laundry is absolutely good and will assist you to her best a lovely lady, but all good anyway.

My Aunt spent some 10+ years and got to know the nursing staff and carers very well. She absolutely and particularly loved a particular member of staff who brought her much joy.
Everybody was caring and the last years of my Aunt's life were made the best possible in the circumstances.

This lovely care home is 110 per cent perfect. Homely, spotless, smells lovely, all the staff are fantastic, all homemade food. Everyone helps each other, nothing is too much for anyone, you would have to go a long way to find a better home, in fact I don't think there is a better home. The entertainment
is fantastic, tea coffee juice biscuits any time of the day and ice creams in the summer while in the garden, sports day that was great, they all have everything under control. You're all one in a million.

All the carers were very helpful, supportive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble either day or night. The quality, presentation and choice of food was excellent and homemade. My room was very clean, light and comfortable. Well equipped and with an en-suite toilet and hand basin. The communal
rooms are very comfortable and beautiful gardens outside. I really enjoyed the recreational activities and entertainment. We had garden games and trips out for visits. I would definitely recommend The Corner House for respite or long-term care.

Care staff could not be more helpful. Nothing is too much trouble to them. I am a large person who has to be hoisted into by bed or wheelchair as I cannot weight bare. I have enjoyed my week of respite care and look forward to my next stay. I'm sure my husband has enjoyed having some time to himself
and not having to cater for me. Food is delicious, my compliments to the chef. Surroundings are beautiful and I have enjoyed sitting out in them.

I have been looked after in hygiene and the food is excellent. The laundry is very good. Activitities are very good but not been fit or able to join in many of them. Sometimes noisy at night time with buzzers being continuous. I have met some lovely people, staff and residents.

Mum has just completed her first 12 months in the home and overall it's been a very positive experience. They have gone out of their way to ensure she feels happy and comfortable in her new surroundings. She recently changed rooms which has made a world of difference to her as she now sees more people.
The staff are very attentive and ensure we are always kept up to date with any issues or concerns and they are always happy to take on board and action anything we raise. It's never easy taking those first steps but the transition was made much easier by the staff. Taking care of Mum is important to us as a family and we now know she is safe and well looked after which in turn gives us peace of mind.

The home is beautifully maintained, bright and luxurious. Staff are friendly and attentive. Manager is always available for a chat with any concerns. Dining room, 'home-from-home', always nicely laid out for the residents. Rooms and common areas are always spotless. Entertainment coordinator always
has lots of activities planned and at Christmas time there was so much for the residents to enjoy. A wonderful, magical time for them all!
