St Dominics is nestled in the tranquil village of Kelvedon is set in landscaped gardens overlooking mature trees.

The home is easily accessible from the A12 road link and is close to the mainline train station and local bus services. St Dominics is adjacent to the local Catholic Church and near to other dominations. Vel Inn Pub are all within easy walking distance.

Accommodation at St Dominics is provided in 39 single bedrooms, the majority of which have en-suite facilities. Many rooms overlook the landscaped gardens. The first floor rooms are serviced by a passenger lift and stairs in several locations. The home has four bathrooms that are fitted with specialist baths as well as a wet room with shower facilities.

There is a large comfortable lounge and a panoramic conservatory which is used for residents to dine and socialise in. The home has a smaller lounge and another quiet lounge used for residents’ celebrations, meetings, staff training, etc. A hairdressing salon is available for use when not occupied by the hairdresser who comes weekly.

Meals are cooked on the premises using fresh produce much of which is provided by local suppliers. The team of chefs work with the Manager and Proprietor to ensure food is plentiful, cooked to a high standard. Residents are able to choose from a varied menu on a daily basis. Special diets can be catered for.

St Dominics has a good rapport with healthcare professionals supporting the care provided such as District Nurses, GPs Surgery, COPD and Parkinson's Nurses etc and Podiatrists

    All residents joining us with a view to a permanent placement will start on a 4-week trial which is charged at £1450.00 per week. Following this initial period, a permanent placement may mean a reduction in the weekly fee payment depending on the room and dependency.


    Respite stays are offered when, and if, we have availability – minimum respite stay is one week.

I cannot speak more highly of St Dominics Residential Home. My mother was a resident for more than three years, During that time I obviously made numerous visits and I can say that on each occasion, I was always impressed with the consideration shown by members of staff to all residents.
Although I
know my mum could be "difficult" at times she could not have been shown more care and love during her final few days and was shown dignity and respect by all. Thank you.

My father is very happy at St Dominics. It really is 'home' to him. Staff are wonderful and so courteous to him and to us when we visit. Food is prepared and cooked on site and is varied and nutritious. I cannot fault anything.
Activity programme is varied, well thought out and fun. Since being at
St Dominics, my father's well-being has improved 100%. I cannot recommend St Dominics more. It is a fantastic care home.

This is an older, independently owned care home which is run for profit so staffing levels are maintained with this in mind. The room I am familiar with and the home overall is a little dated but is quite adequate and kept in a good state of repair. Everyone I am familiar with, carers, management, office,
kitchen and cleaning staff are all friendly, professional and keen to do their jobs in a caring fashion. I have had lunch at the home several times and the food has always been excellent, comparable with a good restaurant.
