Located on the Essex Coast, Corner Lodge is a purpose-built home designed to provide dementia care in a homely, comfortable, bright, and secure environment.

Corner Lodge offers:

Cannot fault the care home in any way. The staff truly care about their residents and are personally concerned about their welfare. My aunt responded better here than with other carers because of the way the staff interacted with her.

Six months into my father's care here and I have nothing but praise for all the staff I have encountered at the setting. My father's advanced dementia along with very limited eyes meant that all our family, in particular, my mother (87) were full of anxiety and concern when the decision was made for
him to go into a home. We worry no more.

My father was admitted to Corner Lodge Care Home in December 2020. All the staff have been very kind and supportive of him. They have kept me informed of any issues with his care. They have been very supportive of my mother on her visits to see my dad, even helping her to create a small garden for him.
They have been really caring of him and my family.

All staff have been very kind and helpful. I am always informed when he has been unwell.
Unfortunately, I am unable to comment on his room and facilities as because of Covid no one has been able to enter the home but I cannot praise the wonderful staff enough.

My friend is a resident at Corner Lodge, who I take out for outings and activities, supported by her family. Blue, my bichon dog, comes in to visit the residents who like dogs and put a smile on their faces. Staff are always very welcoming, and I cannot find any issues with the home, always spotless.

Corner Lodge Care Home carers treat my mum with care and respect. The home has a very upbeat atmosphere and my mum enjoys having her hair done every week. She enjoys the food and the company of the other residents.
Her room is pleasant and kept tidy and clean.

Total care towards my father-in-law disgraceful. Told on numerous occasions that he should be in a nursing home and not here - we had to source this ourselves through the local authorities and thankfully he has now been moved. The manageress was annoyed that he was being moved, told that we had to give
a month's notice and referred to themselves as a business, no statement that they are a care home. Totally not impressed with the care attitude that I witnessed when visiting. My father in law's personal effects including a hearing aid now only left with one, went missing, no one could give us a reason, only that there is a resident that goes into other residents rooms and takes things! My father in law's room was disgusting, wallpaper peeling, dado rail loose, indentations and marks on the painted part of the walls. Told that the month's notice would pay for the redecoration. Well, it certainly was not decorated when he moved in.

We clarified the manager was not annoyed however we expressed a general apology, including for the loss of one hearing aid. We wished that the other concerns were raised whilst your relative was still our resident to give us opportunity to rectify. Nevertheless, we will revisit to seek improvement.

My mother became a resident of Corner Lodge the only way I can describe the facilities is fantastic never have I seen my mother smile so much the staff are incredible and go the extra mile every day, it is a pleasure to visit.
