Goldenley have provided amazing care for my Nan. Before my Nan went into Goldenley she lived on her own and it was a constant struggle to get the right care. Since living at Goldenley my Nan has started to eat better, her mobility has improved and we don't have the worry of her having fallen or being
lonely. The communication from the staff at Goldenley couldn't be better. We receive regular phone calls and updates are posted on their Facebook page where we can see photos as well as videos on the exceptionally activities they provide. My Nan has come on leaps and bounds at Goldenley and we are forever grateful. The last year hasn't been easy on anyone and not seeing my Nan has been devastating, but Goldenley has given us the luxury of facetime and even opened a pod where you can see your loved ones through the window and speak through intercom whilst being sheltered and keeping everyone safe. I couldn't recommend Goldenley enough, my family and I are truly very very grateful.

I have nothing but admiration for the whole team at Goldenley. They have, and still are coming through this awful pandemic with first-class care. Their attention to safety and care for all residents is second to none, nothing is too much trouble. My mum has been in their care for the past three years
and I can say with hand on heart I have every confidence in them and that my mum is 100% safe. Their entertainment programme is excellent and until this pandemic hit all members of the resident's families were welcomed with open arms to join in. I certainly have some wonderful memories of my mum. The fun times certainly didn’t stop when she changed her residence. I cannot thank them enough and highly recommend that anyone’s love one would soon be one of the extended family is welcome with open arms. I feel welcome, respected and above all still a daughter to my mum.

My Mum moved into Goldenley in Sept 2020. The very thought of having a loved one move into a LTCH brings numerous emotional challenges, and these were exceptionally elevated given the ongoing public health crisis at the time. Given all this, the staff could not have been more comforting or professional.
We were familiar with the home as my mum had attended their day centre prior to Covid, and the reassurances and evidence we received from the team about how they had navigated Covid, to that point, were very reassuring. Since Mum has been in the home she has settled in nicely. It's not been without its challenges but the Goldenley staff and their resources were fabulous in coping with everything. When talking to Mum, I can see she feels comfortable, happy and safe. Nothing could be more important to me and my family. Thank you to all the team!

Mum has been at Goldenly for 12 months now and what a 12 months it has been through COVID. Goldenly is an amazing happy home and the care, respect and dignity given to our mum is second to none. The lifestyle coordinator is beyond good and keeps everyone entertained with such a variety of activities.
It’s an extremely hard decision to have to put a loved one into a care home but as a family, we continually thank our lucky star’s that we found Goldenley - it's home from home for mum and what more could you ask for. Thank you to all the staff.

Dad initially came for four weeks respite in February 2020 but was more than happy to become a permanent resident, member of the Goldenley family from then on. I have nothing but good things to say about the amazing care dad has received every day. He regularly told people that it was like staying in
a posh hotel, with great food! The first thing that struck me when viewing was just how fresh and clean everywhere was, the cleaners do a fantastic job. As do all of the staff, but a special shout out to the lifestyle coordinator whose enthusiasm is outstanding. The residents all look happy and well cared for, as well as entertaining. All you could wish, in a place for your loved ones to live and be cared for.

Goldenley Care Home is wonderful. My lovely mum has Dementia and has been at Goldenley for nearly 4 months, she is so happy there and I am blown away with the love and kindness that mum gets from every member of staff, they are just amazing. We made the right decision as a family for mum to become
part of the Goldenley Family and knowing she is safe and cared for so wonderfully it is a comfort to our family. All the staff at Goldenley are 'Our Heroes'.

All the staff are excellent, they are fantastic with the residents and was fantastic with my mum. The Manageress was brilliant as well. The Manageress came out to assess mum who wasn't sure about going at all, however, after some caring reassurance that mum would not be left in the home mum agreed to
go and she loved it. The Manageress is a credit to the home and so are all her staff. Everyone was so caring, the food was really nice with a lovely atmosphere throughout the home with plenty of activities, we are in the process of booking mum in again and for various day stays, it was lovely to see mum getting her dignity back with basic things that the staff are so passionate about. Thank you Goldenley.

Goldenley is a really friendly and welcoming home. It is very homely as well. The carers are amazing and they really do care about the people in the home. The home is very good and it is very clean. There are a couple of rooms you can go into when visiting so that you have a bit more privacy with your
loved one. We would recommend Goldenley without a doubt.

This environment is unlike any care home I have ever experienced. The atmosphere is very welcoming, warm and extremely friendly, the staff are an absolutely amazing bunch of people - nothing is ever too much trouble. My grandparents are so well cared for by all staff who are very professional, caring,
polite and courteous. My grandparents are really happy with living there, the fact that they have a choice between two meals is brilliant, the standard of food is fantastic and there are always plenty of drinks and snacks available. The activities that are laid on are both entertaining and engaging and when visitors such as the animals and the Elvis singer comes in to visit my grandparents are in their element - my nan especially enjoys the local children coming in and reading together. The facilities are also brilliant, there is a little Tea Room and Pub which is perfect when you need a bit of space as a family. It is a wonderful, welcoming place to visit. Thanks for everything you do.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the past year's care for my mother in law. Great effort and such wonderful care for all of the residents that you care for.
It's clear to see how much everyone loves their job and also the people they care for. You have an amazing team and the whole place just has
a wonderful feel. My children have also said it's the nicest and cleanest home they have ever been in. I really recommend anyone to go here for care. Thank you all.

My aunt and uncle moved in during May 2019. They settled very quickly and have only been positive and complimentary about all staff. They are encouraged to take part in activities by the excellent activity worker. I feel they are well cared for and have certainly seen some improvements in both their
health and social needs.

The team at Goldenley cared for my mother for seven years or so until her death. End of life care is exceptional. They are an extraordinarily empathic, professional team who invest so much in their residents. The home is always clean and busy although there are areas set aside if you want some quiet
time with your family. My mother felt happy for the most part and safe in the place that she considered as her home. Communication is excellent. It is a homely place, there is nothing institutional about it. A home-cooked menu and all tastes are catered for- tea, coffee, cold drinks etc are always available. Visitors are always welcomed, above and beyond is their normal.

I love visiting my nan at Goldenley. The home is always very welcoming and nan is always well presented and contented. It's such a lovely idea to have visitor lounges so we can have some quality one to one time with nan. She loves having a coffee and cake with us in there. The home is always clean and
smelling sweet at any time of the day, which is a huge selling point from my perspective.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.179)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.179) out of 10 for Goldenley is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.847 for Goldenley is calculated as follows: ( (61 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.847

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.332 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Goldenley is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 registered maximum number of service users is 8.2. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.2 = 0.732

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
