My mother is just coming up to one year in Humfrey Lodge. She is bed-bound and needs 24/7 care. The manager and staff are all excellent, but the home itself is looking rather tired, and the facilities for the staff I believe could do with updating as their job is difficult and they need to be appreciated
with good working conditions.

I've been visiting every weekend since the end of February 2023 and found management and staff very polite and helpful and so willing to please. Cannot fault them.
And the main thing is my good friend is very happy and content living there and gets on well with all the staff, and because she's happy
to be there that's good enough for me.

The staff are always friendly, considerate and helpful. They treat my mother with respect and compassion. The management has an open-door policy and does its utmost to address any matters raised. I cannot recommend the staff at Humfrey Lodge highly enough.

My sister has been a resident at Humfrey Lodge for some time now and I cannot fault the care and attention she is getting. Due to distance, I am unable to visit her on a regular basis but the wonderful staff there are always updating me on her condition. Whenever I phone they are only too happy to chat
about her and speaking to her myself she appears to be happy there which is a great relief to me.

My aunt became extremely unwell, paramedics were called and spent four and a half hours in her room assisting her. Thanks to the exceptionally quick response from senior staff at the home who showed full professionalism, love and care towards her she has made an amazing recovery.
Knowing that she is
safe and cared for daily is indeed a great comfort to me and my family.

Very friendly staff that take great effort to acknowledge my mother and all residents on passing in corridors and lounges. Professionally run, very clean, and nothing is too much trouble. Very welcoming environment. Staff are always approachable and willing to assist at all times. They always can be seen interacting with residents. They show interest in what residents do and say. Such nice surroundings; pictures, seating areas, gardens, furnishings and etc. The dining room looks appealing
and inviting. Overall good standard of cleanliness. My mother-in-law appears well cared for now rather than when living alone. Great care home overall.

Lovely staff at Hunfrey Lodge always friendly and cheerful. Mum and Dad have lived here for a year and a half now and are very well looked after safe and secure. Activities are stimulating affording more interaction than they had at their own home.

Such a lovely atmosphere - caring and companionable. The living space seems light, airy and cheerful and all the residents, especially my brother, seem very happy, calm and contented. My brother also tells me that the food is excellent! I am so grateful that he is in such a kind environment.

Over the last six months we have been unable to visit our mother inside Humfrey Lodge due to the COVID 19 restrictions. However, despite the pressures this has placed, the staff have been exceptionally helpful in allowing us to enjoy garden and window visits and have been uncomplaining in the extra
running around they have had to do for us. Our mother is very comfortable here and our thanks go to every member of staff.

My friend has lived at Humfrey Lodge for more than nine years now and she always tells me how grateful she is with all the staff who cares for her. The compassion and dedication of each person can never be paid by any amount. I always feel I am welcome whenever I come there to visit, and now with the
COVID ongoing they never stop keeping in touch with the relatives and friends like me. They said they wouldn’t wish their residents to feel lonely. It is very kind of them to provide a technology where family and friends can see their love ones. Thank you Humfrey Lodge Team for keeping the home safe, you are all heroes to us.

My Mum is well looked after and the staff are kind. I do find I have to mention things that have not been done, like keeping her teeth clean, regular showers, room not hoovered as often as it should be, lack of bathroom supplies, these are small things but should be addressed. Unfortunately, there is
never a manager to talk to at weekends, which is inconvenient for working families. As a family member, I am pleased my Mum is cared for and the staff are always friendly, it gives me great peace of mind to know she is in a safe environment.

I started as a health care assistant at Humfrey Lodge which motivated me to learn more about care and management. I have been at Humfrey for 13 years; I started as a care assistant at Humfrey Lodge working my way to Deputy Manager and now taking a big leap as the Home Manager. One of the things I really love doing is taking photos of the residents at the home. In fact, I’m the official photographer! Capturing special moments through photography not only allows me to express myself but also helps preserve the memories for everyone. It’s a beautiful way for me to give back while doing something I love.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Hi, I’m Saju. For the past three years, I’ve been passionate about reaching out to people, helping them feel comfortable, and ensuring they feel safe and cared for in our home. It’s a truly rewarding experience to provide that sense of comfort.


I also have a small garden in the manager's office, which I’ve enjoyed tending to. One of the plants there is named Beatrice, a little nod to my love for nature.
