Dear Mark, Thank you for your review. We value feedback from residents and families, as it helps us to improve our services. We understand that fee increases can be concerning and would like to explain the reason for the adjustment. The increase was necessary due to rising operating costs, particularly from government-mandated increases in the National Living Wage over the past two years. These 10% annual hikes directly impacted staff wages, which are crucial to providing high-quality care. At The Laurels, we remain committed to maintaining the highest standard of care. While fee increases are never ideal, this adjustment is necessary to retain skilled staff and sustain quality care. Hello Julie, The Laurels thank you for your feedback, we take your comments on board, on how to improve our service and care. You are more than welcome to have a conversation with myself and/or Deputy to discuss any further concerns you may have. Please be reassured that Mum has plenty of conversation with the team during the day and night. With regards to the paper straws The Laurels have sourced eco-friendly and they are designed to last over four hours in hot and/or cold drinks, Mum is not left unattended with any of her drinks as fully supported by the team. The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
