My mother is a resident of Little Oaks and has been for just over a year. We viewed several care homes before settling on Little Oaks, where we received such a warm welcome from the team - the home is small and friendly and her room has a lovely outlook. Without exception the team are amazing - communication
is proactive and it's easy to see how well Mum is cared for - she enjoys the food, the company, having her hair done weekly, and manicures too, as well as entertainment from time to time. Medical attention is sought swiftly if required. Mum is very settled and refers to Little Oaks as 'home'. I'm so pleased she's happy and receiving such good care - it gives me huge peace of mind and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the home.

The team at Little Oaks looked after my mother with great care and were very professional. She got better care at Little Oaks than she received in the hospital. The home was very clean and the room was satisfactory. The staff were cheerful and pleasant and very helpful.

Dad was at Little Oaks for five or six years before his death in November 2021. During that time, we were very happy with the care that he received and the attitude of the staff there - it really was like he was part of their large family.
During his stay, Dad's health deteriorated due to illness,
but the staff were always attentive to him and ensured that he was well looked after. They were also quick to seek medical attention when it was needed. My mum visited him most days while he was there (other than during Covid) and they were always welcoming to her, and us children (four children and various spouses and grandchildren) were always made to feel welcome and our visits were always accommodated with good grace. Indeed, at one point, Mum also stayed at Little Oaks to recuperate after an operation, which shows how satisfied Mum was with the care she knew she would receive there!
Overall, we never had any concerns about Dad's welfare whilst staying there and dad always seemed very content.

My mother was cared for at Little Oaks between 2016 and her death in February 2022. The highest compliment that I can pay to the staff at Little Oaks is how our family had complete peace of mind for those six years, which I firmly believe were the happiest of mum's life. The staff treated mum like family
and mum's contentment with life at Little Oaks was obvious. If mum didn't like something or someone, you'd know about it!

Mum's care was always of an exceptional standard, everyone knew how she was when I rang, and the communication with us was great. The staff always knew when mum needed medical input and this was indeed the case when they made the final call to get her into hospital before she died.

We will always be grateful to Management and all the staff at Little Oaks. If you or your loved one are fortunate enough to be cared for there, you won't be disappointed. Thank you to everyone.

Home from home, I visited Little Oaks and found it to be very welcoming, I would recommend this care home. I arrived a lunch time to find everybody together as a family, was nice to see, and then they were taken to watch tv. I sat in the conservatory and admired the gardens, this was relaxing, only
one thing missing was a nice cup of Tea!!

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.907)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.907) out of 10 for Little Oaks is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.657 for Little Oaks is calculated as follows: ( (24 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 35 Ratings = 4.657

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.25 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Oaks is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 14 registered maximum number of service users is 2.8, which has been reached with 3 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
