An enchanting home situated on Canvey Island.

Staff are trained to ensure they listen to residents' needs to ensure they've plenty to do, that may mean just a chat and cup of tea or something a little more lively.

Rooms are furnished but carers endeavour to accommodate those precious items to transform your room into the home that you want it to be.

Longview also has a Day Centre, a hive of activity and celebrations, any excuse for party. A really lively centre working together with visitors to provide what they wish for to ensure a a fabulous day every day.

My wife was a resident for two years. During this period I found that the staff were dedicated to her comfort and wellbeing. This made my life more bearable knowing that she was being taken care of properly.

My mum has been a resident at Longview since July 2018 and from the first day she was there, she has been welcomed and shown so much kindness and help from the wonderful staff. They all seemed to know her name as soon as she arrived and have helped her immensely. All the staff try to make Longview a
safe and happy place for the residents. My mum is very happy living at Longview. I couldn't ask for more.

Staff extremely friendly, encouraging and professional.
Husband badly let down during a hospital stay and advised he would have to go into care.
I only agreed to initially respite as I felt with the right help my husband could return home. As is the case with the hard work and dedication of the staff,
my husband is again able to walk again albeit with a frame, feed and dress himself and is returning home with our sincere thanks for all the help provided by the staff.

Since my husband went into Longview. He has been putting on weight, eating well, getting back to his old self after having 3 terrible months with health problems. He loves the staff. Everybody who works there is very clean. Great meals. Such a happy place for residents. Thanks to all at Longview.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and a good size with a small bathroom. I am glad my father is in this home as he needed to be taken care of 24/7 which I was unable to do any more.

My father-in-law came to Longview in February after previously being very unwell in hospital. His health has improved dramatically, he loves living there. The staff are very helpful and polite. He goes to their day centre. Longview is a great home with great staff.

My mother has been a resident for nearly 6 years at Longview. Throughout her stay the carers at Longview have treated her with dignity and have ensured her health and well-being and keep her comfortable at all times. Furthermore, when my father became terminally ill, Longview were quick to accommodate
him to ensure his final stages of life were with my mother in close proximity. The staff are also very polite and courteous.

My name is Chloe. I’ve been part of the Longview family for 12 years, starting as a carer, moving on to care team leader, and now serving as a Unit Manager.


For me, the most important thing is ensuring that our residents feel well cared for, happy, and safe. I’m passionate about creating a positive and fun environment with my team, knowing that a joyful atmosphere makes all the difference. When our residents are smiling and content, I know I’ve done my job right.


I once managed a whirlwind trip to Milan for Christmas shopping—there and back in just one day!


I love spending time with my two daughters and partner. Travel is a big part of my life; I enjoy holidays abroad the most, but I’m just as happy with a relaxing weekend getaway.

My name is Lizz. I am the Home Administrator at Longview. I recently returned to Runwood after a few years' break, during which I devoted my time to helping with my grandchildren. Prior to that, I proudly served at head office for 29 years as the procurement and purchasing manager.


The most important aspect of my role is ensuring that both staff and residents feel supported. Knowing I contribute to their well-being gives me a profound sense of fulfilment. I am dedicated to keeping staff up to date with their training and ensuring they have the resources needed to excel. After all, it’s the dedication and hard work of our amazing staff that make this home run so smoothly.


I’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy several cruises throughout my life, which I consider a true blessing!


Spending time with my children and grandchildren is my greatest joy. I also have a passion for holidays and cruises, which allow me to explore and relax. A keen swimmer, I have always enjoyed this activity as a way to stay active and refreshed.

I’m currently training to become a minister for the Church of England. This journey is deeply meaningful to me, and it’s a privilege to explore my faith and service in this way.


Outside of work, I cherish time with my mum and family. Recently, I’ve taken up birdwatching—a fascinating and peaceful hobby. I love diving into books and articles about different bird species and then heading into nature to spot them in the wild.

My name is Jessica. With almost 16 years of experience at Runwood Homes, I have had the privilege of working in various roles, starting as a carer, then moving on to CTL, and now as a Lifestyle Coordinator. My passion lies in ensuring that our residents and their families have access to exciting and engaging events and activities, giving them plenty to look forward to. I take pride in planning special themed days and memorable bus trips, always tailoring them to the unique interests of each resident. A person-centred approach is key, especially when it comes to activities, and I believe it’s crucial in providing the best care.


One of my most memorable moments was attending my first concert at just 8 years old to see Simply Red live!


Outside of my work, I love spending time with my son, family, and friends. I’m an avid cinema-goer, having seen over 67 films in 2024 alone. I’m also passionate about running and am part of a local running club. This year, I’ve completed 11 races in just 9 months!
