An enchanting home situated on Canvey Island.

Staff are trained to ensure they listen to residents' needs to ensure they've plenty to do, that may mean just a chat and cup of tea or something a little more lively.

Rooms are furnished but carers endeavour to accommodate those precious items to transform your room into the home that you want it to be.

Longview also has a Day Centre, a hive of activity and celebrations, any excuse for party. A really lively centre working together with visitors to provide what they wish for to ensure a a fabulous day every day.

We are very happy with the care and support given by the staff to Mum. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming when we arrive.
All the staff know Mum very well and know her needs/likes etc.

Longview has far exceeded our expectations in the level of care given to our mum. All staff are very friendly to both residents and visitors. We are kept informed of any aspects of care required to keep Mum well and happy.
Food is excellent and well presented. Soft drinks are constantly provided.

I am very happy with the care and kindness shown to my mum. She is always treated with dignity and gentleness.
Mum is always clean and her dietary needs are catered for.
She is never alone for long, always a smiling face to make sure she is alright or if she needs anything.

Since my neighbour moved into Longview Canvey Island. He has been treated with most respect and care. If anything bothers him it is always dealt with immediate effect.
The cleanliness is outstanding and my neighbour is so happy and it was the best decision.

It is a difficult and demanding job that is often unpleasant. A huge amount of time must be spent simply coping with regulation. Despite this, I've seen numerous examples of real care and concern for the well-being of the residents and there are several dedicated numbers of the team happy to provide
the all-important personal touch that makes people feel loved.
Having tried for a long period to look after my mother and enable her to live at home, it's a great relief that she has adjusted so easily to her new life, has better care and is much happier.

I have found this care home to be very good, the staff are always available to answer any questions, very friendly and helpful. I have found that they have always treated my father with dignity. The staff have a very difficult job as some people do not understand things as they may suffer from dementia,
but the staff always take time with them and are very understanding. I have found the management to have an open door policy if you have a problem and they do their best to sort it out. The food is good and always plenty to go round, my Dad is always being offered seconds. The staff always know what he likes and dislikes which is a feat because it is a large home. My father has been in Longview for three years this coming October and we did not think he would still be here with us. I am sure it is the excellent care he receives from his carers and I would like to say I have seen first hand how hard they work and myself and the rest of my family would like to thank them all.

My father is a resident here and has been since last August. He has been well cared for ever since day one. He always appears happy and content. We can sleep easy at night now knowing he is getting 24-hour care. We wouldn't recommend this place for anyone enough. All the staff are very dedicated
and hard working.

We have recently needed to get my mother-in-law into a caring environment. Safety, compassion, dignity and cleanliness were the key elements that we were looking for. I am very pleased, happy and comforted to know she is in good hands at Longview. The staff have been magnificent including the manager
who we have direct contact with. They have made the transition so much easier for us as a family.

From the very first day I felt a genuinely compassionate and welcoming environment from all the staff. Through November my father has been in a caring and safe environment, even though the care home shut down due to sickness/chest infection I knew my father was receiving good attention and that he was
safe. I cannot praise and thank enough all the staff at Longview for their dedication and commitment towards their job. Congratulations.

I once managed a whirlwind trip to Milan for Christmas shopping—there and back in just one day!

The most important aspect of my role is ensuring that both staff and residents feel supported. Knowing I contribute to their well-being gives me a profound sense of fulfilment. I am dedicated to keeping staff up to date with their training and ensuring they have the resources needed to excel. After all, it’s the dedication and hard work of our amazing staff that make this home run so smoothly.


I’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy several cruises throughout my life, which I consider a true blessing!


Spending time with my children and grandchildren is my greatest joy. I also have a passion for holidays and cruises, which allow me to explore and relax. A keen swimmer, I have always enjoyed this activity as a way to stay active and refreshed.

I’m currently training to become a minister for the Church of England. This journey is deeply meaningful to me, and it’s a privilege to explore my faith and service in this way.


Outside of work, I cherish time with my mum and family. Recently, I’ve taken up birdwatching—a fascinating and peaceful hobby. I love diving into books and articles about different bird species and then heading into nature to spot them in the wild.

With almost 16 years of experience at Runwood Homes, I have had the privilege of working in various roles, starting as a carer, then moving on to CTL, and now as a Lifestyle Coordinator. My passion lies in ensuring that our residents and their families have access to exciting and engaging events and activities, giving them plenty to look forward to. I take pride in planning special themed days and memorable bus trips, always tailoring them to the unique interests of each resident. A person-centred approach is key, especially when it comes to activities, and I believe it’s crucial in providing the best care.


One of my most memorable moments was attending my first concert at just 8 years old to see Simply Red live!


Outside of my work, I love spending time with my son, family, and friends. I’m an avid cinema-goer, having seen over 67 films in 2024 alone. I’m also passionate about running and am part of a local running club. This year, I’ve completed 11 races in just 9 months!
