An enchanting home situated on Canvey Island.

Staff are trained to ensure they listen to residents' needs to ensure they've plenty to do, that may mean just a chat and cup of tea or something a little more lively.

Rooms are furnished but carers endeavour to accommodate those precious items to transform your room into the home that you want it to be.

Longview also has a Day Centre, a hive of activity and celebrations, any excuse for party. A really lively centre working together with visitors to provide what they wish for to ensure a a fabulous day every day.

My mother has been a resident at Longview for over 4 years. She is very happy there and the attention to her care by the carers is extremely friendly yet professional. My father was also a resident for a couple of weeks last year before he sadly passed away and again, the carers couldn't do enough to
ensure his end of days were as comfortable as possible.

It is a pleasure to come in and always find mum clean and happy, chatting to the other residents and joining in with the many activities that go on around the home. Having seen the other side of the care homes, I feel so happy and confident that she has finally found a home that looks after her with

Since my mother has been in Longview it has been stress-free. Whenever I visit mum is clean and happy and always in the lounge with the other residents. Mum was previously in another care home for 2 and a half years. It was stressful every time I came to visit as mum was not cared for properly and was
always dirty and in her room. Longview for me is a breath of fresh air and stress free.

We can not thank the wonderful staff enough for the top quality care they gave to my nan for the two years she spent at Longview until her death in August 2016.
The care home is always clean, well kept and the rooms are very modern. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. They are always willing
to help and assist at all times. I and my family would like to wish all the staff the very best. Thank you so much for everything.

The receptionist is lovely. She is always polite and very helpful. She is a credit to Longview and should be praised. My nan loves this place. She has made loads of friends.

The only problem encountered is that the resident is really "required" to speak up for themselves or things don't get done for them. (i.e. their wishes). Otherwise excellent and the staff show real interest in the resident and give excellent care without any moans or discouraging feedback. The resident
has put on weight, looks healthy and clean and most important "smiles" so we know they are being well looked after. We also feel welcomed by all staff when visiting and have all the time for us. They seem keen to know the residents history so are able to better relate and hold conversation with the resident. Management are also excellent.

Since mum came to Longview she has never been so well. Mum says she feels safe and happy. The carers are very kind and cheerful. Whilst being here her health improved. Mum walks further and has found new friends.

Its been my friends home for the past 7 years full of staff who have come to love her as well as care for her. She has been in very good hands. Staff, management were helpful, care and hospitable. I would certainly recommend Longview. The care they gave her towards the end was so loving and dedicated
that I cannot thank them enough.

Since my mother has been at Longview approx 4 years she has been very happy. She now mixes well with others and has gained weight. Seconds are readily available to those that want it. Some staff take the time to talk to mum, mum has her favorites. My mother never smells and her room is always clean
and tidy. I feel happy and can relax with knowledge that mum is being looked after.

My mother has only been here for two weeks I know it is early days yet but the care she has received and the cleanliness of her room is very good .
They are wall papering her bedroom for her as I brought the wall paper she can have her own furniture the room is clean and cosy better than the last
home that she was in .
The home is very well maintained decorated very nice feels more like a hotel not a hospital like a lot of care homes .
There is a lot going on within the home every body is pleasant and has time to talk to you .
There are two beautiful dogs Rosie and Trigger to greet you and fish and birds make the place feel like home .
They have a music room , very nice hairdressers plenty of nicely decorated lounges, a tea room, an outdoor sitting area and a very well kept garden. A bar which is opened on a Friday afternoon so the old boys can play dominos or cards which is very nice .
As it is coming up to Christmas they have decorated the home for Christmas, it looks very nice .
My mother seems very happy there at the moment and the care is good .


At this point in time I would recommend this home.
No home is perfect but this one is a good one.
Would recommend you see it for yourself.

My name is Chloe. I’ve been part of the Longview family for 12 years, starting as a carer, moving on to care team leader, and now serving as a Unit Manager.


For me, the most important thing is ensuring that our residents feel well cared for, happy, and safe. I’m passionate about creating a positive and fun environment with my team, knowing that a joyful atmosphere makes all the difference. When our residents are smiling and content, I know I’ve done my job right.


I once managed a whirlwind trip to Milan for Christmas shopping—there and back in just one day!


I love spending time with my two daughters and partner. Travel is a big part of my life; I enjoy holidays abroad the most, but I’m just as happy with a relaxing weekend getaway.

The most important aspect of my role is ensuring that both staff and residents feel supported. Knowing I contribute to their well-being gives me a profound sense of fulfilment. I am dedicated to keeping staff up to date with their training and ensuring they have the resources needed to excel. After all, it’s the dedication and hard work of our amazing staff that make this home run so smoothly.


I’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy several cruises throughout my life, which I consider a true blessing!


Spending time with my children and grandchildren is my greatest joy. I also have a passion for holidays and cruises, which allow me to explore and relax. A keen swimmer, I have always enjoyed this activity as a way to stay active and refreshed.

I’m currently training to become a minister for the Church of England. This journey is deeply meaningful to me, and it’s a privilege to explore my faith and service in this way.


Outside of work, I cherish time with my mum and family. Recently, I’ve taken up birdwatching—a fascinating and peaceful hobby. I love diving into books and articles about different bird species and then heading into nature to spot them in the wild.

My name is Jessica. With almost 16 years of experience at Runwood Homes, I have had the privilege of working in various roles, starting as a carer, then moving on to CTL, and now as a Lifestyle Coordinator. My passion lies in ensuring that our residents and their families have access to exciting and engaging events and activities, giving them plenty to look forward to. I take pride in planning special themed days and memorable bus trips, always tailoring them to the unique interests of each resident. A person-centred approach is key, especially when it comes to activities, and I believe it’s crucial in providing the best care.


One of my most memorable moments was attending my first concert at just 8 years old to see Simply Red live!


Outside of my work, I love spending time with my son, family, and friends. I’m an avid cinema-goer, having seen over 67 films in 2024 alone. I’m also passionate about running and am part of a local running club. This year, I’ve completed 11 races in just 9 months!
