Lyons Court is a beautiful home, with the main lounge area set in a converted timbered barn, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the stunning gardens.

With just 26 bedrooms and a team of staff who are passionate about enriching the lives of their residents, the home has a warm, family feel the moment you walk through the door. Many of the team at Lyons Court have been with the home for over 10 years, providing that continuity and sense of family.   

They provide residential and dementia care, as well as respite care breaks, which are ideal for carers looking after loved ones, who would like to plan a short break themselves, with the peace of mind of knowing their loved one is in safe hands.

There are so many activities to enjoy, including regular performances from singers and musicians, animal visits and pamper sessions with manicures and hand massages. A hairdresser also visits for regular appointments in the home’s salon.

The gardens are a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy summer barbecues, garden parties and community events. With wheelchair friendly pathways and a water feature, the home has a gardening club, where residents grow their own flowers and also produce for the chef to use in the kitchen.

The team are passionate about residents having an active role in how their home is run. There is a resident ambassador who welcomes new families, supports with staff interviews and provides feedback on everything from the menus to the activities on offer.

In the dining rooms residents enjoy delicious, home cooked meals. From roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays, and lighter bites like homemade soups. The chef is a talented baker, with freshly baked cakes for afternoon tea.

The home is very welcoming at all times and the staff are very caring and friendly. My aunt has felt at ease since moving into Lyons Court and feels very settled. The surroundings and overall layout of the building are very " homely " and the added bonus of the staffs' pet dogs on occasions makes for
a normal feeling of life.

My husband has been at Lyons Court for approx 5 weeks.
I am delighted with the care and attention my husband is receiving I've been married to him 64 years, you can imagine how difficult it was to think about care. I'd been his carer for over 5 years but I am so satisfied with the attention from all
the staff and manager.

My mother has been at Lyons Court since February 2017 and has happily settled into the home. Her room has a good aspect, of adequate size with ensuite facilities. Her room decorated with her personal possessions making it homely.
The staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive to both residents, relatives
and visitors. They welcome any comments or concerns they have.
The compassionate dedicated approach from management and carers has given us as a family assurance that mother is in a caring environment and her wellbeing maintained.

The care oozes as soon as you walk in. Activities are so important and this is every day and more than once.
Food is good assistance given to those who need help. Two lounges plus the wonderful barn and another area for meeting other residents.

Mum had very poor eyesight, hearing and mobility. The staff worked hard at making mum feel at home and comfortable. Transferring mum became very difficult and a hoist was needed regularly. The staff made the process as smooth and as dignified as they could. Dad was made very welcome, visiting every
afternoon (all visitors are welcome). When mum was approaching the end the night staff were like angels helping my sister and I to make mums passing as comfortable as possible for her.

Mother has been a resident since February 2015, this has been a home from home for her. The staff have been brilliant and the food and facilities are very good. Mum died at the home two weeks ago and the staff couldn't have been kinder or more caring. Thank you.
