So pleased that Mum is at Redbond Lodge. You couldn't find a kinder, nicer group of carers, especially at this difficult time. Knowing Mum is safe, and well looked after has reduced my stress levels considerably! Her room is lovely and bright, and she loves it.

My mum has been a resident now for 3 and a half years. All of the daytime staff that I have met are very patient with her as she has dementia. They try to integrate her into activities such as bingo, and she enjoys getting her hair done in the little salon there (extra charge). Since the lock-down,
they have been keeping the residents active, sharing cards from local schools and they gave each resident an Easter Egg. I was really appreciative of the fact that they took time out to let me video chat with my mum, as I haven't been able to visit for at least a month. Many of the carers there really seem to care about the residents as they would their own family.

This is the second time my dad has stayed in Redbond Lodge, the first being back in May 2019. I can’t say anything negative about the care he is receiving whilst on long term respite. The home manager, staff and well-being are so caring. Looking after his everyday needs.

My mother has been in Redbond Lodge for 7 months. It took her a while to settle but the caring staff have encouraged her and she is now interacting with others much better and is taking part in some activities. All the staff are very kind and helpful and the home always looks clean and well cared for.

My mother was in a care home in Eastbourne which was not particular easy for me to get to on a regular basis. I had also got somewhat uneasy with how the home seemed to have changed over the years. I moved her to Redbond Lodge. I was shocked at the changes in her. She has become happy and outgoing,
the interaction with the staff is totally different from her previous home. She has started to walk again, not far but who would expect that in a 98-year-old! She has physically and mentally improved in the time that she has been there. Nothing drastic but small significant changes. Redbond Lodge does not have the frills, etc. that my mothers far more expensive home had but it does have caring concerned informative staff. I can pop in and visit whenever I wish to, that was not the case with her previous home, they wished to know when you would be visiting.
I'm not saying Redbond Lodge is perfect but its almost as good as it gets.

My mother was nervous and confused on arrival but the carers were friendly, helpful, welcoming and have great communication skills and continue to show all of these abilities. Their kindness and patience with dementia are fabulous giving dignity and respect at all times. Mum is relaxed and happy now
and they monitor mum's medical condition well.

My father was a resident at Redbond for just under 2 years on Gardenia unit. He was well cared for by staff in a professional but personal manner.
The open policy of Redbond helped become part of our family, always kept in touch in his care and welcomed on each visit. Always clean with none of that
"odour" of certain care homes. Dad was able to manage his own needs with help from staff some becoming more like family than staff.

Honestly, I can’t thank these staff enough, they really have looked after my grandma very well, what we all don’t see on TV is actually what they do daily for all these people.
I appreciate everything and everyone here!

I cannot believe that this care home is only rated a nine, it should be a ten.
Mum joined the Redbond family in July 2016. She had been suffering with onset dementia but unfortunately had fallen and broken her hip. We didn’t expect her to survive this but survive it she did. I cannot thank the wonderful
staff of Redbond who without exception treat all the residents with care and dignity.

My mother, who has Alzheimer's, went into Redbond Lodge for respite care in 2013, when my father broke his elbow. They were both lucky enough to get a full-time place there, the following year when it became obvious that they could no longer cope at home. My father enjoyed over two years there until
his death in 2015, and my mother is still there. They have bee so well looked after. The staff and managers are very kind and attentive. The home manager is brilliant, very helpful and approachable. The food is good and both my parents found the activities very stimulating, although my mother now is bed bound and can't join in anything. All in all, I think that you would be hard pushed to find a better care home than Redbond Lodge.

Eighteen months ago we realised our mother was unable to look after herself. She was frail, depressed and was withdrawn within herself.
We were worried witless as our mother had always said she would never go into a home. We looked at several but were recommended Redbond Lodge. My wife and I turned
up unannounced and were shown around by a lady who was helpful, honest and understanding. Ten months later, with the gentle care, support and assistance of the staff our mother has been returned to us and enjoys the banter with the staff who treat her with the greatest respect and dignity and have made her one of the family.
We cannot recommend Redbond highly enough and would urge anyone who finds themselves in a similar position to look for themselves.
Well done to all the management, staff, medical team, helpers and carers.
We cannot praise you enough.

Prior to Mother's admission into Redbond Lodge in August 2016, she was, to put it mildly, waiting to die. Following a short hospital stay, she was admitted to the home. Her change in demeanour was nothing short of miraculous. She responded to the magnificent 24/7 care provided at the home. All the staff
understand the phrase 'care with dignity'. They call her by her family name and are always laughing and joking with her. Last year we did not see her surviving for long on her own, she has just celebrated her 99th birthday.

Mum was a resident at Redbond Lodge from April 16 to August 16 when she sadly passed away. During her time in residence there she received fantastic care from all the staff. They made her feel at home and took care of all her needs. She wanted for nothing. When she passed, they made sure it was with
dignity and I was able to be with her. They looked after me as well - tea, lunch etc so that all I had to do was be with Mum. I cannot thank them enough and will forever be grateful that Mums last months were spent in the care of such wonderful people.

My father spent 4 months at Redbond Lodge prior to passing away. He was extremely well cared for throughout his time there and the staff treated him with a great deal of compassion. My father needed a high level of care and all of the staff made a significant effort to make him as comfortable as possible.
The staff were very kind to all our family and allowed us to visit at all times of day and night. I really can't find enough words to describe how at home everyone made my dad feel and how they made his last weeks so peaceful.

When my Dad first arrived at Redbond he was apprehensive and anxious. All of the staff went out of their way to make him feel relaxed, comfortable and at home. They took the time to get to know him and nothing was ever too much trouble. We visited regularly and were always warmly welcomed. We were always
kept informed of any changes to his condition and felt that the staff always monitored him closely. I genuinely feel that he couldn't have been looked after any better and would like to thank all of the staff at Redbond for their care and compassion at this difficult time.

Welcome to Redbond Lodge! My name is Raquel and I am the Home Manager of our lovely home. I moved to the UK in 2008 and started my career in the United Kingdom. I joined Runwood Homes in November 2008 in different roles from Healthcare Assistant, Care Team Leader, and Deputy Manager from 2012 until I decided to take a big responsibility as a Home Manager at Redbond Lodge. I strongly believe that Customer Service is a key priority, as is building up the home’s residents, families, relatives, and friends and understand the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of the care home. Redbond Lodge is such a lovely home with a good reputation in the community. I want to continue to build on that for more people to see it as the place to be. Furthermore, I want to ensure that the team feel valued and that they all have the training and support needed to do their very best. I love my team and deeply appreciate their hardworking commitment to their role. I feel privileged to be part of such a wonderful, caring team who are dedicated to maintaining the safety well-being and the best quality of life of all our residents.
