Read House is a Residential Care Home caring for all kinds of residents, making the most of a modern and purpose-built interior.

Situated on the seafront at Frinton on Sea, overlooking the greensward, close to local shops and transport links. The majority of staff are qualified to at least NVQ 2 and many also have NVQ 3. The management team has all been in post for many years.

All rooms have en-suite facilities, personal phone lines can be arranged, Residents can also access Wi-Fi from anywhere in the home. The majority of rooms overlook the sea with some having direct access to the home's gardens.

The home has a large quiet and secluded garden with plenty of space to walk around or sit and spend time together.

Read House provides high-quality food and has a dedicated activities co-ordinator who arranges a wide variety of activities and outings for residents, following meetings with residents to plan the programme.

Under their latest CQC Inspection (December 2020) Read House was rated as 'Good' in all categories.

Mum came to Read House 3 months ago, somewhat reluctantly, as her dementia prevents her from recognising her needs. The patience and kindness of all staff has helped her start to feel more settled and at home now. She enjoys her meals in the dining room with others and enjoys taking part in some of
the activities offered too. She especially likes chatting with staff and telling them about her cycling and walking experiences all over the world.
I always receive a warm welcome from staff and have been reassured and had my questions answered many times. I am very happy Mum is well cared for and her wishes respected.
The app is especially helpful in keeping me informed on a daily basis, and I feel relieved that her medical needs are well attended to, and all quietly dealt with without any stress and anxiety on my shoulders now.
Well done and thanks to you all!

My wife has been a resident for 9 months. She has a number of illnesses and has had wonderful treatment and support during this time. She has had a number of serious illness problems during this time and Read House has coped with them all magnificently.
Both my wife and I are now 93 years of age and
I have to say that I have been supported really well throughout this period.

My mother who is 92 years old is registered blind and has vascular dementia. She has been a resident at Read House for over 9 months now and the staff have ensured that she is safe and comfortable and endeavour to include her in as many activities as possible. The home is friendly and welcoming and
the staff always make themselves available to answer any questions. I feel relieved to know that my mother is being so well cared for.

My 90 year old mother moved into Read House in Sept 2019 for 6 weeks respite care after breaking her hip in a fall.
We have had a very good experience so far at Read House. The staff are wonderful and caring, very attentive. The home is in a great location, right on the seafront, just a short walk
to the high street. It's bright and spacious, with small lounges on each floor, and a large room for activities and a reasonably large sunny garden too. There are activities every day, nothing seems too much bother for the staff. Mum is happy with the food, and the home overall, so much so, she's decided to make it her permanent home!
I think the home is showing it's age a little bit, it's about 20 years old and could probably do with a bit of a freshen up, painting etc, but from what I've seen the care is excellent and it clearly deserves the Good rating.

We can't thank the staff at Read House enough for the excellent care our Aunt received whilst at Read House. Everyone we came into contact with (and those we only saw in the distance) we're so kind, calm and caring. Their gentle manners and caring attitudes are an absolute credit to each and every one
of them. When the difficult decision was made that Aunt needed to be in a care home we were, understandably, concerned about whether we had made the right decision. Read House was most definitely the right choice. Sadly, Aunty passed away after only 7 weeks, (age 95 3/4!). We could not have wished for her to have been in better hands. Thank you Read House, we will be forever singing your praises.
