Silvanna Court provides a calm and friendly atmosphere, with activities designed to stimulate, amuse and entertain all of those who are cared for. Refurbished in 2023, the home provides expert care along with great facilities for older people, including those living with dementia. The home's amenities and homely décor ensure that residents have a comfortable and welcoming environment in which to live.

In addition to the secure courtyard where residents can sit and chat and enjoy the summer with pleasant potted plants and hanging baskets, there is also a new innovation. This year there is a mini allotment for residents to grow their own produce, a welcome addition for residents to become involved in and then to enjoy the ultimate in home grown vegetables.

Silvanna Court hosts the Wickford area Alzheimer’s Society support group, which is designed to help local relatives, friends and carers of people with any form of dementia.

The support group is open to anyone who needs support, advice or information on dementia related matters, be they emotional, medical, and financial or just need of a sympathetic ear.

My nan moved here after a very difficult time deciding on the best option for her. The staff here have done absolutely everything they can to help her feel welcome and comfortable. My nan has made friends quickly and has started to join in with the activities they have going on. Every week there is
something enjoyable and there are daily activities such as knitting, games, reading etc. The staff are always happy to chat or answer questions and have been great at communicating with several family members at different times due to our family set-up.

I looked into 5/6 homes before choosing Silvanna Court. I have never thought I had chosen the wrong home. My mother has been there for just coming up to 5 months now. She has been out on day trips several times, which she loved. There are always activities organised every day for the residents to join
in (no pressure if they wish to have a lazy morning). The staff are just fantastic! They all know by name most residents no matter what their work role is (admin, domestic and catering ). The home is kept very clean and tidy. It is more like a hotel than a home. My mother has dementia, but that hasn’t stopped her from enjoying life again. The whole set-up and running of this fantastic home is a credit to the hard-working manager. She is so committed to this home she never stops thinking of how to improve it.
But you can’t improve perfection!! You should all be very proud of your work; you all play your part. I couldn’t be happier. In fact, I’m in talks for my mother-in-law to become a resident too.

All staff are incredible! So kind, friendly, fun and go way beyond every single day. Management is fantastic and constant activities and events for residents and family to enjoy together. Such a pleasure to visit and staff feel like family. My nan has improved to no end since moving to Silvanna. Everyone
is treated as an individual and with dignity, kindness and humour.
I really can't say enough how fantastic the whole team are and how grateful I am to have such amazing people taking care of my nan and making her happy. Silvanna is modern but cosy, so instantly feel at home when walking in. Perfect balance of having everything residents need without being too flashy and feeling like a hotel/spa. It really feels like home.

I had a wonderful experience visiting my grandad and look forward to many more, knowing grandad is getting amazing care and people who genuinely care about my grandad (my hero). When I visited we had live music playing and had a great time. I would highly recommend.

My mother-in-law has been at Silvanna Court for ten months now and her family are so happy with how she has settled in. It was a very difficult decision to move her into a care home but the staff have made it easier for us, they are great. There is always a member of staff to answer any questions or
concerns. The home is very clean and the food is good The entertainment is great, there is something going on most days for everyone to join in if they wish to. The management team are very approachable and they hold regular relative meetings. We couldn't have found a better care home. Thank you to all the team.

From the very first day the resident came to Silvanna Court, he has been so happy and well looked after. I've never been to another care home where all of the staff are so upbeat and helpful. The entertainment that is provided is amazing. Sadly, I heard today that it all has to be funded by the staff
fundraising, with the monthly fees that are paid by residents I was shocked. We are so fortunate that the staff are so dedicated.

Dad has been a resident for just over a year now. He settled in quickly and the staff have gone above and beyond in making him feel welcome and included. He loves taking part in the activities and has built up a great rapport with the staff who are lovely and caring. He honestly has thrived in this
environment and is happy, which is all I could have hoped for and more.  Participating in some of the many and varied activities has been a lot of fun for me too!

Mum has been a resident at Silvanna Court for just over a year now. The staff are very kind and caring, and nothing is too much trouble. Mum's room is always clean and tidy, and I feel confident that Mum is safe and being cared for by staff who genuinely care. The weekly activities and ad-hoc events
are amazing and keep the residents entertained and enjoying; it's also nice that families can be involved. It's like having a "Silvanna Court" family, and I am truly grateful.

As a family, we couldn't ask for any better care for our dad from Silvanna Court. All staff are helpful and caring and look after Dad extremely well.
If we have any concerns, we are listed too, and our worries are acted upon immediately. We are kept updated about Dad's health, and if any external

When Mum arrived, she was very thin and withdrawn. Since being here, she has gained weight and seems to have gained confidence. She enjoys a laugh with the carers and enjoys activities and days out. The carers are very busy, but they are always helpful and good-mannered. The care home is undergoing
refurbishments, and Mum's room has recently been updated. Mum is very happy here.

We have been delighted with the level of care Dad has received at Silvanna. He has settled in so well and is the happiest he has been in years. The staff are nurturing and good-humoured and always keep Dad smiling. He loves the activities that are available to him, particularly the visits to the pub!

Mum moved to Silvanna from another care home. I cannot praise the staff enough for what they do for her. She is so happy. The new manager is lovely, so kind and caring - couldn't ask for better. After the experience in the last care home, there is no competition - it's like going from a dustbin to a
five-star hotel.

Overall, very pleased with the service received at Silvanna Court. Senior staff are excellent and always available to help, especially when we need to speak to Dad over the telephone.
Occasionally messages don't always seem to get passed on, but these can easily be caught up and have never been a
problem.
Management seems to be on the ball and readily available and interested in the residents.
I would be happy to recommend Silvanna Court.

Generally good. Communication could be better with family. We were surprised that personal post was opened. Mum still has the capacity, so should open her own post.
Communication with the hospital could be better - perhaps clarifying set questions about accepting back to home and mobility.
Decoration
of the home looks great, but we would rather money were spent on improving staffing levels - many of the staff are delightful and do a good job.
Meals could be served differently, perhaps presented on the plate carefully rather than "dollop".
Water jug not always changed daily.

Marina is passionate about enhancing and improving the lives of those in her care, having worked across several homes and actively contributing to raising the standards of care and the environment for both staff and residents.


Outside of her professional life, Marina is an avid traveller with a love for Disney, particularly enjoying trips to Florida. She always has her next holiday booked, finding joy and relaxation in exploring new places.

Hi, I’m Sandra, and I’ve been a proud carer at Silvanna Court for the past 4 years. Caring for people is my passion, and I find immense joy in making a positive impact on the lives of our residents every day.


Outside of work, I love travelling and going on holiday, exploring new places, and creating cherished memories. Spending time with my family and my beloved dog is a big part of my life, and it brings me so much happiness.


Being part of the Silvanna Court team is truly fulfilling, and I’m grateful to be able to do what I love every day.

Hello, I’m Kelly, and I’ve been the Receptionist at Silvanna Court for 2 years. Helping people is something I’m passionate about, and being part of the Silvanna Court family is a joy—it truly feels like my second home.


Outside of work, one of my greatest achievements is being a mother, a role that fills my life with love and purpose. I’m also a pub license holder and enjoy collecting pocket dragons, a unique and cherished hobby. In my free time, I love shopping and exploring historic sites, especially castles and cathedrals, which inspire my sense of adventure and history.
