Silvanna Court provides a calm and friendly atmosphere, with activities designed to stimulate, amuse and entertain all of those who are cared for. Refurbished in 2023, the home provides expert care along with great facilities for older people, including those living with dementia. The home's amenities and homely décor ensure that residents have a comfortable and welcoming environment in which to live.

In addition to the secure courtyard where residents can sit and chat and enjoy the summer with pleasant potted plants and hanging baskets, there is also a new innovation. This year there is a mini allotment for residents to grow their own produce, a welcome addition for residents to become involved in and then to enjoy the ultimate in home grown vegetables.

Silvanna Court hosts the Wickford area Alzheimer’s Society support group, which is designed to help local relatives, friends and carers of people with any form of dementia.

The support group is open to anyone who needs support, advice or information on dementia related matters, be they emotional, medical, and financial or just need of a sympathetic ear.

My husband came into this care home from another one four weeks ago. So far, I am very impressed with it. The rooms are a good size, light and airy. The management and carers and all the other staff are all very polite, and my husband gets treated with dignity. My husband always looks clean and tidy
when I come to visit. My husband eats better than he did at the other care home, so it is good food. It's very clean. It's very secure. As for activities, I don't really know yet as still in semi lockdown, so will have to wait and see.

My mother-in-law has been at Silvanna Court since October 2020. She has taken a while to settle down, but since the ease of lockdown and we are allowed to go in, she is much happier. The staff have been exceptional and look after her very well.

My wife has been suffering from dementia for several years. Due to her worsening condition, she was admitted in June 2020. Due to the pandemic conditions, we were only permitted intermittent visits in the garden. My wife always presented clean and well dressed. She seemed happy. More recently, as her
health deteriorated, we were allowed daily visits inside. The building in general was clean and tidy, and her room was pleasant and clean. Overall I was impressed and pleased with my choice.

Since Mum arriving at Silvanna Court, a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders; have the ability to see Mum on Facebook regularly and seeing the wonderful activities she is doing - makes me and my family really happy. Every member of staff since Mum came here, all staff have been polite, considerate
and informative with all Mum's care needs. I feel like they are all part of my family now. Well done to the manager and best team.

My mother has lived at Silvanna Cort for over four years now; she had dementia. We feel happy that she is safe and contented living here. It's the most important thing to us that she is well cared for. The staff are also fantastic. Overall, we feel Mum is cared for and have made a couple of recommendations
to friends who are in the same positions as we were.

Following a three week stay in the hospital, my father was discharged into the care of Silvanna Court with multiple and complex needs. He was welcomed into a comfortable and caring environment and quickly settled in, building good relationships with the excellent staff. Although unable to participate
in many activities, and with the added complications of Covid-19, staff did everything they could to make my father's final months as pleasant as possible and were kind and considerate to members of the family at all times. It is unfortunate that we did not experience Silvanna Court during 'normal' times, but we were impressed with the measures taken to keep residents safe during the pandemic. Thank you to all the staff for the care and kindness with which they treated my father at all times, respecting his dignity and seeing the real and valued person beneath all the issues that he faced. I hope that better times lie ahead for everyone and wish all at Silvanna Court a bright and successful future.

The staff here go above and beyond. The care and dignity they show my mum is outstanding. They include me in every aspect of her care plan. I feel I can talk to everybody and they are always completely honest with information, whether it be, in person or over the phone.

My parents have been residents in Silvana Court since November 2019. All the staff are very friendly and approachable, with any queries being dealt with promptly. During these difficult times, it has been reassuring to have regular Skype calls, enabling me to see how well my parents look, and to be
able to have some interaction with them. My mum is always happy to show off her painted fingernails! Prior to lockdown, when I could go into the home, it was always clean, tidy and well maintained. There have been several events shared online, such as the carol concert, and it is evident how caring the staff are.

As per telephone conversation, my mother went into Silvanna Court for a respite stay for six weeks originally. I have been so happy with how she is being cared for and she seems quite happy that I have decided to make it permanent as I wouldn't be able to give her the attention she needs.
The staff
are all so kind, they will try and accommodate my needs as well as my mothers.

Dad is continuing to have wonderful care taken of him through these strange times. Silvanna Court has maintained COVID 19 free all through the pandemic thanks to the due diligence of the staff. Dad's needs have been met and I am confident that he is happy and safe. The staff make sure I know what is
going on and if he has any problems. Even though visiting Dad has been challenging, I am happy for restrictions to be in place for everyone’s safety. Once again I am happy and relieved Dad is so well looked after.

I have left some boxes unticked as mum only been there 3 weeks and it's during Covid, so don't feel I can fully answer. On the whole, very pleased. The care/nursing staff have been exceptional - kind/caring and so helpful as we did have a lot of problems with mum settling. They went above and beyond.
The only reason I have only put satisfactory for management is because I feel I can't fully answer due to the odd circumstances. I just feel that communication, especially at this time, with family, could be better but it is a difficult time for everyone and we do understand this.
My feeling going forward is really good - I feel mum's now safe. Thank you. Your maintenance staff have been so helpful too.

We are very happy with the care our mum is receiving. She is very happy and settled. The staff are all very caring and take great lengths to ensure they meet her particular needs. He main carer is absolutely lovely and nothing is too much trouble for her. We are happy with the care mum is receiving
